  1. Fair enough... Appreciate the info. That's a tough sentence for a typo.
  2. Three months ago I set up a new online payment source for my Cap One accounts. By mistake I transposed a couple of numbers from my checking account. I set up an ACH to my Venture and of course it was returned. Corrected the number and paid the same day of the return notice which was 2 weeks before the due date. Ever since I have a 5 business day hold on all my payments over 3 cards and being denied CLI on all cards for " recently returned payment". Calling Cap One is useless, the response is nothing can be done and we really don't know how long it will last. Don't want to rock the boat too much since I have very high limit cards with them dispite some heavy duty charge offs. Does anyone know long it takes to remove this red flag. Thx.
  3. Thx for the reply, so you believe taking 12k BT, which would equal to about 10 percent of available credit could cause AA with Barclays or other banks or possibly both. My profile is strong dispute having a bk on record going on 8 years.
  4. I usually pay my CC's in full before statements cut however I am thinking about writing a check from Barclays to myself. If I invest the money in a stock or bond I am confident I would make a lot more than the $120 charge for using the check and paying it off it off at the end of the 0 percent offer. My question is would this spook Barclays or other creditors if I am maxed out with this card and have zero balances on the others. I do not care about the score drop since I will not be apping or financing for the next year.
  5. So did I. But owning a car that aint so hot doesnt impede your chances of getting a prime credit card, years after you sell yours on Craigslist. You can get another car, you cant get another credit file. Either I go, or... YUGO. Sent from my SCH-I605 using Tapatalk Valid point to a degree but without knowing the details of a fresh bk prime cards are probably not a realistic option in the the near future. A super sub prime card on a report will not hurt the possibility of obtaining better cards further down the road if slowly working your way up. You have to start somewhere. Well, the thing is that some things, you just don't need. You need Credit One like you need a hole in the head. How big a hole in the head would you like? All you have to do is choose the tool that will put the size you like up in there.. Point being, you don't need. GOT' EM! I am not an advocate of the card but need is very subjective, you pay for your mistakes and if someone wants a card and there is only one option and knows the score going in who's to say it's not a viable one.

  7. Is it a good card? Clearly not however I once had a Yugo that shook rattled and rolled but it was better than no car. Depends on your needs and options.
  8. Discharged 7 years this month, however don't go by me. For what ever reason Citi reported 3 cards approx $20k each as paid as agreed, closed by consumer from the get go. All were maxed out and even though the bk is still on Ex was approved last Dec and Feb of this year. Pulled both Ex And EQ for both. Scores are about 760 all reports
  9. Citi can be strange, sometimes in your favor other times not. Burned them for over 60k in Bk only 7 years ago yet was approved for an AA select and TYP card instantly both for 13k. Good luck.
  10. Just for kicks tried the see my recommended offers and it came up with visa sig flexperks 20k bonus. Anyone know if this is a reliable indicator on the odds of approval and is the card any good? Also is the decision instant or goes to manual review? Thx for any info.
  11. After 6 months, then what? It's just another 1x point/dollar card. Never said great card just underrated , take the money and run, decent CL and sig card with really good customer service. Pulled Ex and EQ for me.
  12. For me it is the TD easy rewards visa sig. Do not know if offer is still valid but I got 10k bonus for opening card (after 1k spending) and then 5 points per dollar for everyday spending like grocery, cable, gas, utility, dining out for the first 6 months. Have over 50k points with minimal spending in only 4 months. Only 40k needed for hotel spending or car rental for up to $450 plus other types of gifts and rewards. No AF.
  13. My card was also closed and was assured by card services that all info would be scrubbed from the CRA's. On a positive note applied for Citi AA card and received instant approval for $13k. Called 5 minutes after approval and spoke to an underwriter and requested if line could match my high limit, which was the Duck and a $20k limit was granted. So all was not lost.
  14. If you are honest about your income on an app, why worry about a FR?Exactly, over 10 years ago my wife had only 3 cards one being an Amex. When she app'd for Chase got a 10 day notice so she called for an underwriter. The person she spoke with in as many words stated I see you have an Amex for over 10 years and gave her the approval. Because of the strict policy of Amex it may help obtain other lines upon manual review from other lenders.
  15. Thx for the reply. Applied 3 months ago. Instant denial. Bk only reason, Filed 12/06. Have 5 figure lines with Citi, Chase, Barclays, etc. good income and spotless history since Bk. 763 Ex score. May try next year.
