  1. Really unbelievable...... Get real!! http://www.creditboards.com/phpBB2/viewtop...18675&highlight = can't get unsecured Orchard card, Posted: Wed Dec 10, 2003 3:19 pm Note that her charge off is with AT&T at this point, it changes to Verizon down the line. Quote: I applied for Orchard's Secured card a few weeks ago after being told on their website that this was the card I'd most likely qualify for. I received the card. Then I received a pre-selected offer for the Orchard UNSECURED card in the mail. I applied for it and they just wrote to me. The letter says they can't approve my application becuase I already have the secured card. So I called up and spoke to their lending department and they said that the ONLY thing stopping them approving me was the secured card. They said I passed the credit check and everything else fine. They say if I close my secured card account they can definitely approve me for the UNSECURED card , I just have to pay a $19 processing fee but no other fee apart from that. What do you think? Obviously I'd rather start with the unsecured card. It's no real hassle to close the secured account but what if this is all a hoax and they don't approve me? My credit background is as follows: I'm a foreigner, only 2 years of American credit history 1 Capital One secured card, paid as agreed for 16 months Macys Card with $800 CL, paid as agreed for 16 months Bergdorf Goodman Card with $700 limit, paid as agreed for 13 months Fleet Secured Installment Loan, closed, paid as agreed, paid in full I Charge-off for $330 with AT&T 1 paid Judgement on Equifax ONLY for $2000 My scores are as follows EXP: About 620 TU: About 625 EQ: About 550 http://www.creditboards.com/phpBB2/viewtop...18732&highlight = December 11. References a judgment being reported on one of her reports. Quote: I have a Judgement on just one of the CAs - a bank overdraft of $2000 or so. I am repaying in instalments. The attorneys I am repaying through seem pretty reasonable and flexible. I was considering offering to settle the sum in full now - or even offering something like $1700 to settle in full and asking them in return to remove the Judgement from my records. Think this would work? This would totally clean my credit and everything would be virtually perfect again. ALSO from DECEMBER 11 - the SAME DAY, and ONE DAY after her first post.... http://www.creditboards.com/phpBB2/viewtop...18746&highlight = Quote: If you see my post earlier my Judgement on Equifax has disappeared, following my third dispute. So the Equifax FICO has shot up from mid 500s to 674. The charge-off has also dropped of my Equifax report so hopefully I am in with a fighting chance of getting a card that pulls Eq only. The Judgement is not on Exp or TU either, but those scores are lower for some reason. _________________ 8 flawless TLs EQ: 730 TU: 700 EXP: STILL too wack to mention!!! Amex Gold Amex Blue!!! 7.99% USAA Platinum Circuit City Visa & several semi-sub-primes.... http://www.creditboards.com/phpBB2/viewtop...18734&highlight = the post she was referencing about getting her judgment deleted http://www.creditboards.com/phpBB2/viewtop...18863&highlight = this is where the chargeoff becomes Verizon instead of AT&T Quote: OK, I had a phone line with Verizon about a year and a half ago. When I got the phone line, I didn't actually have a social security number (I'm not American, only recently got citizenship) - so I didn't give them one. My annoying cousin ran up $300 worth of international calls on my phone. I moved home and didn't pay the bill (stupid, I know). Then about 2 months ago, it appears on my credit report as a charge-off. I'm willing to pay it I just need it off my credit reports. It's not on EQ but it is on EXP and TU. Its my only negative on EXP and TU and guess how many points its costing me? 125 points!!! EXP and TU CLAIM they've verified it but since I never gave Verizon a social and since they only have a former address, I am wondering exactly HOW they verified it. Any suggestions anyone? I'll do whatever it takes. I just want it the hell off my otherwise perfect reports. Thanks in advance. 2. Yes, I was the one. I've been reading for a couple of weeks. I've been trying to get a higher score, so I can get better deals on my cards. I have a small business, and it would help a lot.
  3. that is very interesting! this is a great place. I've been lurking, and reading, learned a lot so far!
