  1. Hi, New to the boards. I got a call from a bill collector for a medical debt. They didn't have my correct mailing address (it went to my ex's new home address instead of mine!) I never got anything form the doctor office etc. Now, I found out due to a phone call so the bill collector updated my address and sent me a letter. I wanted to ask what should I do to insure this doesn't show up on my credit report. I know there are new laws such as the medical dept protection act etc. I haven't seen any letter that suits my situation unless I am wrong? Can someone please tell me the best steps to take here?
