  1. Dang girl, sorry to hear about your woes. Speaking from the depressed side of the house, I don't know how anyone lives with me when I'm not on meds. Even though I've learned to put on a good show, I know I suck the life out of people. I'm also really sorry that he won't get some help. God knows it's hard, but it is also so worth while! I just recently spent 2 years off meds and as soon as I felt better, I was kicking myself for not doing something sooner. But you get used to the pain, feel like you deserve it, don't want to be a failure, etc.. From the perspective of the child of a depressed parent who committed suicide; I firmly believe that this is genetic as well as learned. If he won't get help for himself, you or the marriage, will he do it for the kids? I don't care if a kid is 6 months or 10 years old, they know something is wrong. And it's agony when you can't seem to do anything to make Mommy/Daddy feel better. It's not fair to put a child through that pain. I know you'll do what you need to do. You're a good heart and a smart lady who deserves better. As you know, you can't make him get help, he has to want to get better. Good luck and (((()))'s.
  2. He just wants to play with you! I'm so glad you two found each other.
  3. Sounds like tonsilitis if the strep culture came back negative. It sucks and she'll need the antibiotics to get better. Maybe some milk to coat her stomach a bit before taking the medicine? I hope she feels better soon.
  4. I had my tonsils out when I was 27. It was the worst sore throat I ever had, but I've not had a really sore throat since. I just ate what I normally did when my tonsils were infected, lots of popsicles. I was in the hospital overnight. Had my surgery early in the morning and then some rude person woke me up to tell me if I didn't eat my lunch, I couldn't go home. I used sign language to express my feelings and went back to sleep...salamander. The only other weird thing I remember is that for a few months after I would get a tickle in my throat at night when I was laying down. Annoying, but it went away. Good Luck! And remember, it will hopefully be the last time you can't swallow because of the pain!
  5. Happy Birthday! This place is so great and I've learned so much! Thanks for all your hard work guys!!!
  6. I just recently restarted Zoloft after 2 years with no meds. It doesn't make me sleepy, but the depression definitely affects my sleep. Sometimes all I do is sleep, other times I'm up and down all night. He should talk to the Dr. about his sleepiness because there might be a better med for him. But, if he isn't going to do all the things necessary to get a restful sleep (CPAP), all the meds in the world won't help. I know it's frustrating for the family of depressed people. I think mine threw a secret party when I finally got insurance and back on my meds.
  7. Have you checked to see if you can file free through your state's website?
  8. I understand your worry. With a family history, I'd go see the Dr. I've had pains like that and they went away on their own, but going in will give you piece of mind.
  9. Is it tender to touch or is the pain deeper? Can you feel any lumps in the breast or armpit? Does any kind of movement make it worse? Have you taken anything like aspirin and does it help?
  10. Poor guy. Dogs just haven't perfected the, "I meant to do that" look that cats have.
  11. How cool is that? Congrats!
  12. Low Salt Cheez Its. I used to live on those things...then they went away. I've never really gotten over it.
  13. Sending good luck vibes out your way! I hope everything works out!
  14. I heard that about the highway. I'm sure it will reopen, but I also kind of like the thought that no traffic gives the area time to recover naturally. My family actually built soundside after Ivan, but there are always trips to Juana's. Fallon: If you can make it down around the Fourth of July, watching the Blue Angels from the beach or water is a wonderful experience!
  15. That's what my Dad tells me. I hope to get to see for myself in March. I just keep the images in my mind from a couple of years ago. Beautiful.
