    Where to begin?

It sounds manageable..but i'm not exactly sure what to do with it? A pay for delete? A dispute to the CRA? After the deaths of my grandmother in January of 2017, then the death of my mom in October, and then my father-in-law 8 days later...I am completely overwhelmed with life in general. I feel the need to get something under control...so I wanted to focus on my credit repair journey as a "relief" from the other crap...but I can't seem to wrap my head around where to begin again. Due to my permanent and total disability, I am on social security..not SSI. From what I have heard, I am "judgement" proof. I don't like that term...I know judgements can still get placed, but I believe they are uncollectible. However, I don't want to sued on one, either.

    Where to begin?

Greetings! I have been on Creditboards for about a year and started off by ordering reports, opt-ing out, and disputing medical accounts. I was successful in getting all of the medical things removed. After that, I got stalled due to a host of reasons, but am ready to re-enter my credit repair journey. I have continued to read the boards over the last year, but I just cannot seem to get a handle on where to go from here…or basically begin with the rest of my report. I have read the documents in the newbies section and my head is still spinning! I recently ordered new reports (not much has changed). I feel like I have a complicated file, but I am sure there are worse cases than mine. I am going to lay it out and hope that someone can direct me in the way to go. I will fully admit to being somewhat of a credit nightmare up until the last few years. I’ve got my head out of my flowers now and pay everything I have (which is only 2 cap one, and credit one) as agreed. I have no other loans. My husband and I would like to refinance our mortgage at some point and add me to that, but he’s got a bad score due to several late mortgage payments, 3 charge off’s. Most of his has been taken care of or is being paid on right now. I do have 2 medicals that have appeared after getting the deletions last year. One I am paying on so that they would not get a judgment on me….I stupidly agreed to pay and have been without getting a pay for delete and I am guessing that they won’t do it….the lady who owns the agency is a B*tch. The other medical I have not done anything with yet, but will do a PFD letter prior to anything else. I will begin with my credit accounts: 1. Capital One Acct #: 526835002494**** Date opened: 3/1/09 Date closed 9/2013 Item as of date reported: 9/21/2013 Date of last payment: 5/2013 Date of first delinquency: 6/2013 High Credit: $500 Credit Limit: $300 Balance Amount: $0 Status: 60-89 days past due; type of account – revolving; type of loan-credit card; whose account: individual; Additional Information: Account transferred or sold; credit card (I believe this is now with Cache LLC – See Below) Capital One Account #: 54063300694**** Date Opened: 07/01/2004 Date Closed: Item as of date reported: 12/21/2009 Date of last payment: 12/2009 DOFD: High Credit: $664 Credit Limit: $450 Balance: $0 Status: Pays as agreed: type – revolving: whose account- authorized user (I have no idea who the main card belongs to. I do not have this card and have no recollection of it whatsoever) Capital One Not going to post all the details about this one. It’s a current card with about 50% utilization right now. The only thing is the status code is 1. In the account history, I do not see where any payments were ever recorded as late. There are a few months were it says nothing available . I am working on paying this one off first. Capital One Same as above…except utilization is more like 90%. There is not a status code listed. I know that I just need to pay this one down. Credit One I hadn’t discovered CB when I opened this card or I never would have..not matter how desperate I was at the time! However, it’s on the reports. Current account. Utilization is about 50%. Was paying this off along with the other low CapOne. Question is…do I want to switch and pay this off first and close it? Paid Charge off returns to CR

Hello. My husband opened a Yard Card to buy a lawnmower back in April of 2010. At some point, the account went delinquent and was charged off and sent to a collection agency. I believe the amount was around $1500 when it was charged off. I do not recall what collection agency it was sent to, but I do know we paid the account off through the collection agency. The Yard Card had been reporting as paid on his credit report and I don't believe that collection account was listed at all. In August of 2017, the Yard Card appeared back on his report as charged off with a balance of $1824 (at least that's what the report we can see through Chase bank who shows TU) says. Credit Karma says $1525 for TU and the same for Equifax. All are using May 2013 as the last payment. My question is how do I approach this? I know that I need to locate documents that prove we paid it. I'm certain that we paid it through our joint checking account, so I will have to get statements from the bank. I'm not sure if I should call the Yard Card and inquire or wait until I have the proof that it was paid. Dispute with the CB and using what method/reason? I have ordered his credit report from the three main credit bureau's. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. Danielle
  5. I have waited a little late to post this, but I am still hoping that someone might be able to give me a bit of advice. I have been sued by a local hospital for a medical debt that occurred in 2015. The original debt was for around $640. While the debt was still in the hospital collection department, I tried to make a payment arrangement for $50 per month and they declined saying they had to have a minimum of $100 to be able to get the debt cleared up in a 6 month time frame. I was not able to do that, so I did nothing. I received bills from the hospital for some time after that, but still couldn't pay what they had asked for, so I did nothing. I am not sure when I stopped receiving bills for the debt, but I honestly forgot about it. Fast forward to about 3 weeks ago when I was served papers that I had been sued. My court date is tomorrow. I want to avoid a judgement if I can, even though I believe that I am judgement proof (on disability, no property owned). The other thing (aside from the hospital refusing my proposed payment) is that the attorney that they turned it over to represented my ex-husband last year in a dispute over many things from my divorce in 2008 from my ex. My ex ended up stipulating that he was behind 15K in child support (which he wasn't) and that he would continue to pay $99 per week until that $15K was paid (which he isn't currently doing) and he would sign over all rights to my daughter (so that my current husband could adopt her). During this matter last year, this particular attorney was provided with financial declarations from me (which also included my current husband's information). I would like to see this as a conflict of interest (but am I overreaching?) and ask that the court dismiss this based on that. I am currently married but my husband wasn't listed on the lawsuit. We do still maintain a joint checking account and I fear they might levy that because his income goes into it as well (but not sure they can do that). Any thoughts or suggestions on what I should do as far as going to the hearing tomorrow to achieve the best possible outcome? Thanks! Dani

    Medicals Removed - Next Step?

Yes..I have opted out. And this program is what I was planning on using. I guess I wasn't clear at the bottom of my original post. The above portion of the post was copied and pasted from this program and what I was planning on using. Thanks!!
  7. Why Chat I am pleased to report that I have been successful in getting the Medical Collections removed from all 3 CRA's. I am ready to move on to the next step. I have multiple credit card accounts which I will list below. I also have multiple student loans (they have different circumstances), but I assume that I should address them at a later time. It is my understanding that I should use the same credit dispute form, enclose the pages of the report with the accounts circled, and use similar words such as: Please advise me as to the name and address of the original creditor, the name of the account holder, and the reported date of first delinquency, as any account I might have had at one time would be obsolete. If you can obtain this information, I also would need the name of the person providing this data, and the nammer in which it was provided in order that I may pursue additional legal remedies. Enclosures: These are the accounts I have on my TU - I haven't looked at EX and Equifax in a few weeks to see if there are any differences. Cache LLC - OC - Capital One (date opened - 3/18/09 & date closed - 9/9/13) Placed for collection - 4/22/15 Balance $474. Am I correct in my above assumption about using the same form and wording? Do I need to send all 3 CRA's at the same time? It's a very busy time of year for my family and I don't want to make a mistake...I'm planning on preparing 1 letter at a time, but can hold until I get all 3 done if necessary. It may take me a few weeks to get all 3 letters prepared due to time constraints. Thanks for all of the help...you have been invaluable. Sincerely, Dani

    Experian dispute address

I sent my address dispute to the one on the program...It doesn't show as delivered yet. It said address unknown. Will I get it back?
  11. If I cannot use the back door method since I opted out permanently, should I join each site to get access all the time until I get everything cleaned?
  12. Thank you! I do know longhand! I will get the social security number dispute ready and mailed today. I may use this as an excuse to buy a new printer. lol. I think my color printheads are damaged. When the blue prints it looks more like a striped page with varying colors. I think it will do the gray ok, so I will probably go back and redo them. I am assuming I need to wait to actually mail them until I see what they do about the addresses and social security number. When you check the back door on your disputes, do you go back to the same page to opt out again? How does checking the back door and effect the permanent opt-out that I sent in? or does it?
  13. Hello. I am new to this journey and have been reading the boards for several weeks. I've read why chat's method multiple times. I noticed something today while I was preparing my initial dispute letters to the CRA's and not sure what to do about it. This is what I have done. 1.) Opted Out 2.) Requested MIB and Lexis Nexis 3.) Obtained copies of reports from all 3 CB's 4.) Sent address disputes to all 3 bureaus via priority mail - Experian was delivered today, TU & Equifax should be delivered tomorrow. 5. Began preparing my initial dispute letters to all 3 CRA's for medical accounts. I have hand written the disputes on yellow legal paper in turquoise ink. (I was confused about this..as I saw the word version for multiple accounts but my printer didn't print it with a blue background and my printer isn't very good with color these days, so that is why I decided to hand write them. I can do these a different way if I need to, as I am not mailing them until I see what happens with the address dispute letters...unless I can go ahead and send them...then I will). I noticed on Experian (while preparing my initial dispute letter) that under "other personal information associated with your credit it says Social Security number variations: xxx-xx-5243. This is the last 4 digits of my ex-husbands social security number. What do I do about this? Experian is also reporting a medical collection account that I know is being reported by a different CA on TU. I'm pretty sure that this particular account falls outside the SOL, but I'm a little confused about SOL's, too. (I'm pretty sure that I have moved since the date of service, too). I am having trouble matching up and EOMB's with any of the amounts on any of the reports. Everyone that these medical accounts could have been for was insured at the time of service..relatively sure that we haven't moved since the date of service...and myself and daughter would have been covered under a secondary plan. If I knew the dates of services on them, I would probably be more successful. Is the date of service on the report from the CRA and I'm not reading it correctly? Any insight would be helpful. I want to do this correctly and not be impatient with the results. Thank you!

    blue paper?

I am just starting my journey and have some address problems to take care of, but was planning on preparing initial disputes for medical while I wait on the addresses to get sorted out. My question is about the blue paper. Where do you obtain that?

    credit report and misc. questions

Hello. I am new to the board and just beginning my credit repair journey. I have been reading the boards for the last week and feel a little overwhelmed. I think I need to start with 1.) getting all 3 reports from the CB's. 2.) get all old addresses deleted. I got my reports several months online and did not print them out. I'm not sure if I can re-access them or not (and if they would still be valid to begin my process). If I subscribed to a report service, would the reference number that I need for disputing be on those reports? After I get the reports and send my address deletion letters, what do I do next? I have several unpaid medical bills that have been sold to JDB's and I believe that I can pay the OC via the method I read about. I have a couple of CO's that have also been sold to JDB's. And then I have a boatload of Student Loan issues to deal with. Federal loans were discharged to due permanent and total disability but still show up. I know I have at least 140 120 day dates or more. Not sure if those stem from the federal loans that were discharged or from the private loans that I still have and have been CO and sold to a JDB (who just sent me settlement letters) I guess that after getting my address situation taken care of, I am not sure what to tackle next. Medical bills, credit cards, student loans or attack them all simultaneously? Any help would be greatly appreciated!
