  2. Better to wait for a clean EQ. The main selling point for PenFed is the SP preapprovals, which may take forever to get if you join without a clean EQ. Agreed but in my case it may take forever to get a clean EQ.
  3. PenFed approved me with a two year BK on EQ for a 20k Travel Rewards Amex. A fico9 was used on 7/24. 709 vs Fico 8 690. Applied and 10 minutes called and approved. No questions or docs required.
  4. Since being discharged from BK 2 years ago I have thru persistence and a bit of luck managed to have most of my IIB accounts removed. I am confident I can dispute my BK off of EQ since it contains numerous errors if the 2 Cap 1's IIB accounts are removed. For whatever reason Cap 1 has extended to me 5 cards with about 70k in CL's so I hesitate to stir the pot. The question is should I request a GW from Cap 1 or let the dogs sleep.? BTW I put approx 5-6k monthly thru these cards
  5. Interesting but why do the CRA's report these cards as "flexible spending cards"?
  6. ^ Besides you will only bury yourself in debt.
  7. No docs needed, just a couple of minutes on hold and no questions asked.
  8. Having missed the boat with Navy I went for the Penfed Amex. Called right after apping and the CSR put me on hold. Five minutes later approved 20k. EQ 703 5 cap1's 72k Merrick 1400 Comenity SG 8k 5/3 Trio 12k 110k income Now to let these age and hope for forgiveness from all the big boys I burned.
  9. Before traveling to Cuba I convinced DW to apply for the SGB card by walking into a branch. It took almost a month to get the card. The only places that take credit or debit are some of the major hotels such as the National in Havana and a few higher end restaurants. I can confirm it will work in those places and in case of emergency there are plenty of ATMs., Only 45 minutes by air from me but it might as well be the moon as far as the things we take for granted.
  10. "The original ATMs predated debit cards, Tente said, so using them was more cumbersome because consumers had to use a paper form and a pin number to access their money. When debit cards became available in the 1970s, ATMs became more consumer-friendly," "PIN number" is as bad as ATM machine.
  11. It's not so much understanding the oversea's CSR's it's the total silence one gets after posing a question and the constant being put on mute which sounds as though the rep hung up.
  12. Who is the issuer of this card now using FICO 9? Are you referring to the Alliant CU VISA Signature? All new FICO versions contain a lot of subtle "tweaks" to the scoring algorithm, so you are correct here. Typically FICO only publicizes the major changes that the average consumer can comprehend and relate to their personal credit. This FICO spin is primarily for marketing purposes to promote the brand. Fifth Third Bank is the issuer. I have a 2 year Bk with the associated IIB's accounts as my negatives so maybe the IIB's accounts are not treated as harshly.
  13. Recently I was approved for a 5/3 card and a letter was also sent and stated my Fico 9 on T/U was 708. A couple of days prior my Fico 8 was 681 on T/U. In my case none of the changes apply and I assume there is more to the equation than stated.
  14. Blispay seems like a decent card but my Exp Fico 8 is 685 so I'm the cusp according to the data that's available. Will wait unti score hits 695 and go for it. Appreciate the insight.
  15. Thx again will definitely check out Bispay.
  16. Thx will look into that. I do travel a bunch so The Venture is 2% albeit with the annual fee.
  17. I wish I could use other cards for rewards but I only have a 5/3 card with a cap on rewards and not so hot at that plus a couple of sub primes since I stiffed every major in my BK so my options are limited.
  18. For whatever reason Cap1 has issued me >70k in CL's spread over 5 cards since my BK (Cap1 was IIB for a large number) two years ago. I'd like to combine 3 to one for one 48k (2 20k Venture's plus a 8k QS) Venture card and still have a Venture for 20k and my original plat for 3k. I run approx. 5-6K monthly thru the cards. I am a little leery of doing this since having a large limit card without a tremendous spend pattern might trigger AA or raise some other flags. Should I lay low or combine. THX
  19. Thx everyone... I do have 5 yes 5 Cap Ones, 3 Ventures with 20k plus limits and 2 QSers and a 8k Commenity Viisa. Was surprised at the limit.
  20. BK discharged 10/15 TU pull 681. Sure it's a VERY average rewards card the Trio but considering I'll take it. SUB $100 12k limit. Was a targeted offer.
  21. Why would anyone care and or need "proof" that either one of these cards is deemed subprime when picking up groceries or buying gas?
  22. Sorry for the dupe, you guys are quick.
