  1. Mailed of the demand letter and now they have updated the amount to show back at $1,622. They still have not responded to me directly. What now?
  2. Yes, all outside SOL.... I wasn't sure if I would do more harm than good on these since they still have a few years left to report. Two questions: If the status is showing 120 days late is that accurate even if it was sold and is now current? If I paid the judgement recently and I dispute the springleaf account, will they just update to paid and get another 7 years of reporting?
  3. I've been able to repair 21 accounts post divorce just by reading through this board, so thank you to all who post.... Advice on what/ if any of these to hit next? Springleaf (Personal loan) Last Reported 6/2013 DOFD: 6/2012 Status: Charge Off Bal: $0 Activity: Transfer/Sold Note: This ended up as a judgement and was paid off through attorney in January. I am current with the new lender) Note: Transfer/Sold NFCU Reposession Last Reported: 1/31/2018 DOFD: 7/2013 Chargeoff amount: $19,964 Status: Charge off Balance: $10,064 Note: Transferred to recovery
  4. I have a charge off from NFCU from 2013 for a repo. It is past SOL, amount is ~$10k. I get letters once in awhile offering to settle, and it is still reporting as CO on my reports. I am choosing to let it sit in hopes that it will Just fall off the radar as the lowest amount they have offered to settle for is $6k. Is this a bad idea? I dont know Much about their collection practices, but can they come after me eventhough the SOL here in MD is 3 yrs. Second question is I still have a open savings with a minimum amount in it with them. Ive had other positive tradelines as well, but this is the only one still open. Anyways, if my wife applies for an account under my referral code, could they possibly tap her account to offset my repo debt?
  5. Account is reported by CA only. Prior to finding this board, I had called the OC as I did. Not believe the debt was mine. I was told my ex took my daughter in to ER and I am listed as guarantor. At same time I had sent a validation letter to the CA which never came back with a response. Debt is definitely outside of SOL. My question is did I mess up by talking to the OC or can I still do this method. If so, start from the top as usual? Thank you. OC is a hospital and CA is IC systems if it matters
  6. Long story short, I have a medical collection for my daughter. My ex took her in for an ER visit in 2013, put me down as guarantor, and neglected to tell me. I know that this bill is my responsibility. It is currently listed as a collection on my report by IC System. Its past the SOL, but I need it off before it will fall off on its own. I am pretty certain the OC will recall and I can fork over the $450. My question is, should I try disputing it prior too with whychats method? Or is that kind of a lost cause at this point. The addresses are already gone, I would be picking up from there.
  7. Yeah, I about had a heart attack when I saw that myself. I belive they reported the wrong amount, as it was once listed as $1,622. The guy at the credit union laughed...me, not so much.
  8. Breeze - Maryland... I have not. I am a little reserved with that because it causes a sh**storm with my kids. Just not a good situation, although I would bet money it was her doing. This is what I typed up, though I am not sure it will hold any weight. Thoughts? February 8, 2017 Re: Account 144126XXX (as listed on credit report) Dear Sir/ Madam: As you are aware, I previously disputed the validity of a debt that you have reported on my credit report. I have no knowledge of this debt and adamantly dispute that it is mine. In response you sent the front page of a Sprint bill listing my name and an address that I do not live at. I have no idea who this account belongs to, but it is not mine. I subsequently requested that you remove the erroneous account, to which I received no response. Furthermore, I contacted the Credit Reporting Agencies directly to dispute, and the account came back verified along with updated false information to now show a balance of $162,222. This false information has negatively impacted my livelihood, my career stability as I carry a clearance, and I was also recently denied credit due to your negligence. I am demanding that you immediately remove this account from my reports. If the account is not removed within 20 days, I will be forced to pursue legal action under FCRA and other applicable laws.
  9. Even if I am pretty sure it isn't mine? I might consider paying it just to have it gone when it gets closer to clearance, but I am hoping I can get it off without paying for someone else's phone service.
  10. ERC is listed on all 3 reports as collection for Sprint $1622 from 2014. I sent them a DV letter, as expected, they came back showing the first page of a phone bill with my name and a previous address. I have never agreed to or signed anything for Sprint service. My suspicion is that my ex-wife might have used my name during/after our separation, as she did that routinely during our marriage. I have no way of knowing if that's the case or if it was the next renter, someone else, etc. I sent a letter disputing the validation due to those reasons and requesting verification of contract. No response. I then sent a dispute to the CRA with same complaint and it was verified and updated and now shows a balance of $167, 000 which is just insane. What do I do now to get these knuckleheads to remove the account? I have a clearance for my work and when I go up for review this will be an issue. Thanks.

  12. Pay Wally in full and call credit solutions and ask for $25000 CL. Pay entire plat to 0 and SD it. Go online request CL increase. Pay Quicksilver as much as possible maybe 70%. Make sure you don't add debt to it. The rest pay Merrit and SD it for ever until it's paid off and the lender closes it for no use. Do not use credit for Kay, pay as much as you can until paid off. While looking for ways to eliminate this debt don't overlook taking a personal loan with a CU or any lender(maybe Discover) that can extend you credit at low APR. matter of fact you might even contemplate taking a consolidation loan to wipe your CC debt and paid the loan back with windfall. This will be the quickest way to increase your scores and go on offense for more and better. Awesome, thank you so much for this input!
  13. Valid point and no we haven't. We have both owed back significantly in recent years, so nervous about what this first tax season is going to look like with double incomes. A professional to review what we need to do moving forward is on the short list....
  14. Balance because we generally do not have the extra like that.... Between Alimony, Child Support, and Daycare we lose $6,300 off our take home monthly for the next year. His work matches 10% for 401k so we also max that to the match as well. Medical for 4 kids, 2 cars, mortgage, Student Loans, etc. We are a recently blended family, so trying to consolidate and pay off what we can reasonably. The $7k is coming from some windfalls. I do anticipate being able to pay off the balance over a year, as we start paying stuff off, it frees up other money and we have two kids out of daycare, decrease in child support and alimony in the next 12 months as well. So pay down the 7k and leave the balances where they are paying whatever we can extra each month? Thank you!
