  1. Personally, I wouldn't pay anything unless they agree to delete. I've had success with pay for deletes in the past. The absolute most important thing is to get the agreement in writing from them. I'd never agree to anything over the phone. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  2. How does someone who's been here 12 years freak out over FAKOs? Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  3. I was able to get Credit One removed from my fiances report by mailing them a goodwill letter. That was just this month. That was easy. LVNV, on the other hand, doesn't seem to be budging. It's 6 years old now, so we'll probably just wait that one out. They send a lot of settlement offers, but haven't agreed to a PFD. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  4. I've successfully used PFD with Comcast directly, and with a few different JDB/CA. They all worked and all were deleted within 30 days. The debts were valid and I paid 100%, but all combined was less than $1000. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  5. Huh? People get $10K CCs and $500 CLOCs. A CLOC is not the way to test NFCU.I started out with a $2900 CC and a $15000 CLOC. Go figure. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  6. Just about the same for me, it just took a little longer to get approved for membership because my dumbass forgot to choose San Diego when joining Navy League. Got approved for Cash Rewards at $2900 and LOC at $15k immediately. I asked for CLI after 3rd statement, for $25k, and got countered and approved for $22.5K after sending in proof of income. They just sent me a 12 month BT offer, so I'll take advantage of that for a few months. Pleasant experience so far.
  7. Got a $1300 SP CLI on my AA card last week, from $5000 to $6300. Weird that the soft pull verbiage is still there. I tried again, was a soft, and got denied and told to wait 6 months. Oh, and the card was about a week over 6 months old when I got the CLI.
  8. I made the same mistake. I emailed Navy League, let them know I wanted SD. I got a fast reply saying my membership was transferred to SD, have a good day, etc. However, NFCU said the NL welcome letter/confirmation I sent them didn't indicate SD council, so it wasn't good enough (even though I'd already received welcome email/debit card from NFCU). Well, I had already received my NL welcome packet with member number, so I made an account in the online community section. Took a screenshot of my member profile page, which shows council at the top. NFCU accepted that and I'm officially in.
  9. Never negotiate things like that over the phone. I negotiated mine in writing, copies of everything, certified mail, etc. I've had a 100% success rate. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  10. Exactly 17 points. Science. Sent from my LG-H820 using Tapatalk
  11. You don't even need a DCU CC to get the free FICO, all you need is a checking account. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  12. Mine wasn't for either cli, all I did was use the card heavily. Made multiple payments too, when it was still at a 500 cl. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
  13. I had to wait for a day after my fourth statement to get a luv cli. 500>2500. Also just got my auto 6 month, 2500>3000. If your denial is account too new, try again next month.
  14. Aging off isn't really a great option right now, because it won't fall off until 2019, with the DOFD in 2012. We're in Illinois. Our open ended SOL is 5 years. At the same time though, Credit One cardholder agreement says Nevada open account SOL is 4 years, which should pass in the next couple months. DOFD on EQ shows 06/2012, but date of last payment on all 3 CRA shows as 04/2012.
  15. Hey board. While I found my own credit repair to be extremely easy (1 late payment, 4 CO, 1 Repo gone in 2 months, thanks again to those who helped and offered advice), that of my fiance feels a little more challenging. Specifically, it's how to deal with this one major blemish. The OC is Credit One bank. She had a $300 limit card, which currently has a charge off balance of $551. DOFD is 06/2012. It's listed on all 3 CRA. Each CRA has a listing for Credit One (with a $0 balance, and remarks of $551 written off) as well as LVNV (showing collection account with the $551 balance). She's gotten a few settlement letters. It shows the original account number, Credit One bank as the OC, LVNV as the current creditor, but the letter itself comes from JC Christensen and Associates. The offer is 60% off, for a settlement payment of $220. I'm trying to clean her credit up as quickly as possible. How should I go about this particular item? I haven't taken any action on this whatsoever, yet.
