  1. We paid off a 9k balance today (over the course of this month). I read online that Chase reports as soon as balance is zero. To make sure, I called and they told me they only report at billing cycle cut date which isn't for 10 more days. Problem is we need to get a personal loan this week. A large one. This effects my husbands credit score by almost 100pts which is a huge percentage difference in interest rates. Any insight on getting it reported asap? They said the statement date change wouldn't be able to go into effect until next month either. Insight? Experience? Tips?
  2. I'm using whychat's hippa method for a unique situation. You can look at my other thread for all the details. I'm curious though, I mailed the hospital a check in full with my letter to get it PIF and disputed off my CR from the CA. How long does it typically take a medical office/hospital to cash a check? They still haven't cashed it so I'm sitting here wondering wth is going on...is it a monthly deposit? Bi-weekly? Any insight from someone in medical billing? I'm getting impatient and just want my credit cleaned back up in a hurry for some loan stuff we have coming up. My score went from 803 to 652 due to this pending insurance appeal mess 😖
  3. Thank you, thank you! I have the letters ready to go. The bill is exactly 2k for anesthesia. I'll get a check in the mail to them with the hippa (a) letter.
  4. I have appealed it. I didn't know the hospital submitted to insurance and got denied and are appealing as well. It's messy because I went out of state. My insurance requires pre-approval process, but I was too ill and couldn't wait. Had to find a surgeon willing to operate on me while pregnant. Insurance had approved the procedure locally by two surgeons who wrote letters stating they would not operate while I was pregnant. I may not have survived the pregnancy if I didn't have the surgery. I submitted an "exception to the rule" appeal after my denial...which got lost in the shuffle last month, so resubmitted recently. It's a loooot of money. Thousands. But only one portion is in collections (anesthesia...billed separately). I suppose we could charge on a credit charge (cringe) to get it off the collections and pay it off quickly. I have a care credit card I could use with no balance and 0% interest the first year--doable. Should I take their word on paying for delete? So you're saying to pay the hospital with that letter even though it is in collections? Just want to make sure I'm doing it right since this scenario is a bit off from the norm? I know the out of pocket is significantly less than what they are charging my insurance--I found out from my ins. They're asking for about 12k more than me personally as a self-pay. Also, how could I send that letter if I have to pay by credit? I will see if care credit has checks. Thanks for your help, as always! I'm trying so hard not to stress...but that is a huge drop. 155pts!!!
  5. I flew across the country and had surgery Nov 1. I paid the surgeon & hospital fees upfront. That was what the surgeon quoted me (he was using his hospital rights). Then bills came in from the hospital for various things...pathology, lab, etc. I contacted them & said I wanted to submit to my insurance. It was denied, so they did a submission directly & are appealing the denial. I just got credit notifications that two items are in collections! I never received any letters from the CA. My beautiful credit I worked hard on (550 to 800+!) is now in the 600s!!!!!!!!! I called CA & explained the situation. They said they would remove it once insurance pays. Anything I can dispute to get it off in the meantime? We just had another baby in June, and took in another kid FT today, so need to get a home loan. Now my CR is all messed up!!!
  6. Ex called and confirmed it was included in his bk. I'm livid at these JDB! Totally threw off my morning! I can't wait for them to call back so I can give an ear full.
  7. Thank you sooo much! It might not be at exactly the 7yr mark, yet. But this year it will be. It is a small bill, which seems so silly they would come after it anyhow.
  8. Help! I have an old medical bill that I just got a collections call about. It was from 2012! I got divorced shortly after and my ex was suppose to take on all the debt in our divorce (verbal agreement) to which he ended up filing bankruptcy (not ch7...can't remember which though). This has me soo stressed out because he ruined my credit years earlier (2009 I had to file ch7) and that is about to fall off my reports. I have worked really hard to clean up my credit, and build the last 5yrs or so. My score went from the low 500s to now almost 800! They did indicate that the debt was in both of our names. They did not have my name right (changed my name back to maiden after divorce. They started asking for addresses and employers to which I said I was not going to provide it, and hung up. I don't know what to do! I can't get ahold of my ex to confirm it was included in his bk. I live in WA state. ETA: It is not reporting at all...yet, as far as I can tell. Thank you!
  9. The only thing on my credit report I couldn't knock off was a charge-off...I think because I called the CRA and PIF (stupid, I know...it was before I found this forum). I was just looking at why chat's website, and it says there that under SOL, the original creditor by law must report the first day the 30-day late or past due month that preceded the charge off. They are reporting the month that I paid it...which is a couple years after (didn't know it was there...ex-husband was suppose to take the debts int he divorce so I never really paid attention to my credit until looking into getting a home loan). Should they be reporting the original late date then, not when I paid it? Correct? This thorn in my side has not wanted to go away. It's almost 4-yrs since I paid it off in full. I live in WA state.
  10. Hi! Do you have a template of the letter you used? My clean-up has been going on one yr. All of my tradelines, addresses, etc have been removed that were attached to my ch7 from 2009. Took a yr for EX to finally remove the addy assoc with the BK. They did so last week, so I disputed BK with EX with the letter in purple font from page 25 of this thread as an attachment (online dispute). But they came back verified with the BK. TU I disputed as not mine...came back verified today. EQ wouldn't let me dispute online so it said to fax a dispute in with a pic of my DL. Today I froze LN. I am so close to having an almost completely clean CR! With the exception of a 2012 charge-off acct from during divorce period that ex-h was suppose to take the debt in divorce, but didn't get included in his ch13 since I was primary card holder on the acct...but I found out a bit too late and ended up taking the blow. Does this game plan sound good?: Get a letter from the court Dispute with a new letter (hopefully trubliever will share their verbiage/letter!) Then dispute all 3 CRAs (still haven't done EQ) Thoughts? We want to buy a home next spring!! I'm almost at 700. Also, how much did your scored increase when you got BK's removed? THX!!! Don't take this the wrong way but if your list of steps is true then you made the mistake of disputing before freezing LN which certainly could make it a lot more difficult to get the BK removed. I was successful in removing my BK from TU and EQ on the first attempt after I had frozen and opted out of LN. However, I recently had EX verify my first BK dispute so I am waiting for them to respond to my snail mail letter requesting the documentation they used to verify. When it came to my wife, two disputes over her BK were verified by EQ in record time and if I am honest, I think the reason why the first time was verified was because I didn't leave enough time between freezing LN and disputing.....the second time I am convinced they just looked at the results of the first dispute and used that instead of actually doing any investigation. So my plan for my wife is to threaten EQ with arbitration to see if that will get them to delete and I'll do the same with EX if such a thing exists for them and if they refuse to delete my BK. One last thing, if you are looking to buy a house, and you manage to get the BKs removed before you apply for the mortgage, you are still going to have to declare that you had the BK........I don't know how much effect that would have on your interest rate but it is something to keep in mind. Thank you so much! It is true, those steps for me. LN said they could take a month to freeze and I would be notified of the results. Almost going on a month, still waiting. What do you suggest I do from here? We got our pre-approval for a home loan, but are still going to be waiting until we commit, and would like to shop around with lenders to get the best possible loan option once spring hits. I just want the BK to be gone! All the TL's included are dropped, all addresses gone...just want that boost! TY!

  12. I've been on my clean-up mission for about a year now. So much patience and success! All that is left now is my ch7 bk (discharged 7 yrs ago...) and a charge-off from a cap1 cc that is closed & paid in full (from last summer I PIF before finding the forum...my ex had the card and I just wanted to clean up my rpt, thought this was doing it). All tradelines assoc with the BK are gone...clean credit report and score has boosted over 100pts! I've tried negotiating with the CA on getting it removed to no avail. I even asked for a PFD as I had a tiny bit of knowledge before finding the forum...no salami. Asked for supervisors, etc. No luck. Anyone have any luck with removing a charge-off acct through portfolio recovery??? The addresses assoc with are gone.. I want to attack this one and get the bk removed hopefully! Trying to buy a house in the spring. Thanks!
  13. New update: So it is the only (medical) account reporting (yes paid) to EX only! TU & EQ have deleted. Does this give me any edge on removing from EX in any way now?
  14. Is there any way to get the original CC paperwork? I have none...I didn't even realize I still had a card that I could have been using/cleaning/paying as early as last summer (as I never got statements/info in the mail)!!! It was a messy multi-state move/seperation/divorce as far as finances/paperwork, debts, etc...
  15. bump....been researching this scenario and haven't been able to find much info/success!
