  1. Yes. But who knows about the quality of the final product. I had two homes built by a large builder and one by a smaller one. Both of the homes by the larger builder took about 3 months and change to complete from start to finish. The biggest being my primary residence with 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and some optional bump outs. With a house of your size with 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, I don't know. The foundation and framing isn't the biggest part of the work/time in building a house. It's the finish work and mechanicals that take the most time. If the house is just framed, I don't think
  2. I'll have to dig up my old loan docs to see if there was any verbage on overages on monthly payments having to be stated to go directly to principle. But my credit union did the automatic application of excess money from my monthly payment to principle without me having to state so. I verified this with the payment receipt I received from the teller at the time of payment and my monthly statements. The additional benefit I got which I never used was that the CU also pushed off the due date based on how far ahead I was with my payment schedule due to the overages I paid. This is also pushed
  3. To close put a final closure on this, I closed on my vacation home about 2 weeks ago. The oddity was that I had to cut a check for almost $300 at closing. When I asked the settlement attorney why the change in money needed, he said it appears that for whatever reasons the amount of seller assistance was too high. So an adjustment was made to offset the amount over this threshold by having me pay the $300 as an upfront payment for HOA dues. Despite the fact this is a conventional loan. Just have to shrug my shoulders on this. The other thing that was frustrating was the amount of document
  4. If you're going to run the network cabling in the crawl space, you'll need to run it in a conduit or get cabling with sheathing for environmental exposure. To have a company come out to do it, be prepared to spend some money. Based on what your mom as stated about the attic, you can look at running plenum rated network cable which you can pull through the duct work. The other method mentioned by your mom is to stay wireless but use a repeater. I'm not a fan of these and prefer a better solution which uses a wireless mesh topology. Aruba Networks has a system called Instant AP which create
  5. I used the Steinheil SGP SQ on my Asus EP121. It's among the best out there. Extremely happy with the clarity of the screen protector. You don't even know it's there with the EP121 installed in the carrying case/folio. They have a different version I think it's the AQ which has a more matt finish to it to prevent glare.
  6. . http://androidcommunity.com/who-was-really-first-apple-vs-samsung-story-truly-debunked-20110420/ I found that link after posting the picture. I'm digesting the commentary at the bottom of the article which provides some interesting counterpoints to the article.
  7. An example of how a driver's license system should be done: http://www.motorweek.org/features/over_the_edge/finland_drivers_license/
  8. And something more to add to this ability to patent a rectangle with round corners. So who copied who?
  9. Bose is meh..... I haven't checked on pricing and sound bars to me are if you're willing to accept acoustical compromises. But if you have to have one, I would go with some better vendors such as Paradigm or Mirage Speakers. http://www.paradigm.com/products/products-by-category/soundbar http://www.miragespeakers.com/products/uni-theater/?sku=UNI-3-1 In the case of Mirage, they developed the well received Omnisats for HT applications. I have personal experience with Mirage with their M490 speakers made about a couple of decades ago. Still sound great and I use them in my bedr
  10. Apparently, it doesn't apply to Apple per the link I provide above concerning the Mirror World's lawsuit against them. The jury found in favor of Mirror Worlds and on appeal the judge over turns a jury's verdict because he felt in his words, "Mirror Worlds may have painted an appealing picture for the jury, but failed to lay a solid foundation sufficient to support important elements it was required to establish under the law." Really? Do you have details to suggest otherwise? I'll admit I haven't read the court documents from the case. Try this link: http://www.nytim

  12. They must have forgotten to include New Jersey in their study. They did. Newark, NJ came in 4th with Jersey Cit, NJ coming in at 8th. Those familiar with the DC Metro area will see that these cities constitute the area as a whole in order of ranking: 1. Washington, DC 2. Baltimore, MD 10. Alexandria, VA http://www.washingtonpost.com/cars/where-do-americas-best-and-worst-drivers-live/2012/08/28/68f1f886-f138-11e1-b74c-84ed55e0300b_story.html
  13. So I wonder if the judicial system is going to apply the same standards as they did with this case against Apple: http://www.mobiledia.com/news/86119.html
  14. Reminded me of another incident I was involved in recently. On the way to VIR, I was driving on the highway when I started to close on a couple of cars doing about 10 over the speed limit. So I start to pass the cars and the Mercedes decides to speed up. The Benz is along side of me and then proceeds to speed up. Ok what ever. About two miles down the road, I catch up to the salamanders in the car. And now they're barely doing the speed limit. So I'm stuck behind these salamanders in traffic. As soon as I'm able to make a pass, the loser decides to speed up yet again. So now it's defin
  15. As long as no one is in front of me, on ramps are no problem for me. I'm usually doing about 10 over the posted speed limit by the time I merge onto the highway.
