  1. Was up over 800 on all my credit files when I hit some self sabotage and forces of nature. My parents closed a 28 yr old tradeline that I was an aU on because they are almost 80 and want to only have two cards. I took a 35 point hit with that on EX and Eq which i know is lost. Opened a business Discover where they only gave me 7k line. At the tine i did not know they reported to personal. This has tanked my score because it max reports every month. Question `1. I am approaching my 1 yr anniversary which ends the cashback match. Thinking about closing it because Discover said they don't raise business lines from the initial limit. I know my score will go up from not using it but will it help my AAofA to cancel it. It is my second newest card. Ainy chance of combining the linit with my personal Discover which is stuck at 5100? According to EX my AAofA is 4 yr 5 months Question 2. Opened a furniture card underwritten by wellsfargo for 0 pct for 12 months. Card is 3 months old. I had a really good month and could pay off this card now, will closing it help my score? This is my newest card. Should i close this? Overall credit health 21k owed at 0% with 145k in limits. 2 vehicles financed for business , 1 reporting on my personal. my only current goal is to get back with chase. those are my only two cards in last 5 yrs. I screwed chase in 08 on 2 cards and a WAmu they acquired . Had 60k in linits on the ink card before i bought my brother out of the business (he had used his credit) and they have refused me twice when i applied with scores in the 780s. In 2019 Chase opened a 15k freedom for me , I made one charge and must have spooked them they closed the account. 4k on cigars Still paid my sign up bonus but i have not tried again with them.
  2. I am hesitant to apply for CLI with existing lenders because my 2020 income dropped 40k and I have been avoiding letting existing creditors know, I expect it to go back to normal in 2021. As far as product changes goes I think I would rather just apply for a new card and get the SUB and/or a new 0 pct offer.
  3. Those are personal cards. Black is a reward card , white is a lower interest card. I guess my question is will closing this card have any negative effects long term.
  4. Cv i am not sure what that means. Part of the disparity is that my father had put me on his GM cap one card opened in 1994 so I could use his accrued rewards in 2002. He never took me off the card and when I started cleaning my reports i disputed his address , not knowing of the benefit of being an AU. TU and EQ removed it . I never told him about the benefit i was getting and as he is 80 , when he bought his last Caddy in April he canceled the card figuring it would be the last car he would buy. That's the only reason i quoted CK.
  5. I opened the Boa black cc (premium rewards card) with a 40k credit limit in oct 17 and opened the white card Dec 18 to take advantage of a 0 pct offer. They took 14k from my black card to open that account leaving me with a 26k limit. Periodically they sent e 0 pct checks but have not since late 2019. There are also no rewards on the card so when I got my year end summary a few days ago it said I had only used it to charge under $5 in 2020. According to the Experian ap my AA of credit is 4 years 9 months. According to Credit Karma (just using this for a datapoint) my average age is 3 years 2 months. When talking to a customer service rep about why I had not gotten any 0 pct checks in the past year with my credit scores ranging from 760 to 800 in 2020 depending on usage he could not tell me. I asked if I would be able to cancel that card and add the limit back to my black card. The question is being that the white card is below my avg age would there be any disadvantage to closing this account? Since my rebuild I have kept everything open except my turd cards (credit one and Merrick) . The 40k line would be my highest after my Nfcu at 34k.
  6. Thanks, lot of good that will help anyone that was affected by the data breach. (which i wasn''t) its amazing they have dragged this out three years.
  7. I opted for the free credit monitoring but have never been contacted. I haven't seen anything about it on this forum , was I asleep or has it been delayed?
  8. How long and how often do you pros save your credit reports? i've got about an 11 inch pile going back to 2009 when i had my last negative post. Report has been clean for the last 3-4 years.
  9. why would you spend money on a tradeline with a dirty file? Money would have been better spent paying down debt.
  10. Dispensaries in Mass only take cash or debit.Do they take credit in Tahoe?
  11. I like CapOne cafes where if you pay with the card you get half price Petes coffee. I use that a few times a week pre covid. also like the venture card would give you 10 times points on hotels.com (not sure if they still do as I haven;t traveled since January) Stuck at 4400 from a 1000 platinum during my rebuild and my intial credit limit of 15k on the Venture. No adverse action for me with scores around 750 on all 3.
  12. I just opted back in last year . They were sending me 5-6 offers a week,I haven't gotten any mail from them during the pandemic should i complain?
  13. Update. I figured it out. When my credit fell apart in 08 the one card that kept reporting was my synchrony /jc penny card. Opened in 1998 and closed in April 2010 for lack of use. Fell off the credit report. Surprised that cost 30 points!
  14. UPDATE! Total waste of time I was rejected with a 752 EX score and 16 pct utilization. Called for Recon and he said the reason I was rejected was unused open credit lines. I was advised to close some of my credit cards and reapply in a few months, which I will not be doing. They are small and it goes to a committee. I owed 25k on about 137k with 4 cards reporting, one of which was my 95 fee on Cap One Venture Trying to decide now if i want to give them 12 debit transactions a month for the next 3 months for a 250 bonus or just close the checking account i opened. Leaning on closing it since I won't be hitting coffee shops and have a bunch of small charges with the Covid going on.
  15. .Hegemony. It is the free score that you get monthly from Experian.com . It said its a fico8. It matches up with my free Amex score which also dropped to 750 on Apr 22. This report was Apr 27. I am not worried but usually my score increase and decrease make sense. Marv i agree with you about the bank screwing it up. It is with a local CU and i got a notice that i was past due. They were great when I called though and I got a VP to send me an email that said no negative info will be on my credit report for the deferrment. *fingers crossed
  16. My march free credit report from Experian had me at 780. 27400 owed on credit cards out of 162k limits for a 17pct usage. April just updated and my numbers were 26, 951 out of 162k 17% used No new cards reporting open balances and my score was 750. (First world Problems) No missed payments etc. The only possible thing I can think of is that I deferred my vehicle payment and instead of paying the 524 payment I paid 92.00 the interest. I also have two personal loans and paid them so the balance on them went down about 500. Computer glitch, Rebucketing?
  17. Yes i am in one of the counties in Massachusetts. I never heard of this bank till they stated targeting me with Facebook ads.
  18. I put off apping this because of the Coronavirus. I joined the CU Friday and they made some small deposits in my account to verify my bank account. Should be apping by midweek.
  19. Update. I called customer service, they said maximum credit line that she's seen is 20000, and they use Experian. I will be applying around the 18th to let some payments post. I will update with the results.
  20. Because they don't charge a fee for the balance transfer. if the coronavirus doesn't run my business what I want to transfer should be paid off in less than 6 months which will be less than one percentage point. Most of the other cards charge 3 to 5% balance transfer fee.
  21. I did a search many different ways and only found a few questions about car loans and I'm not even sure it was the same bank. I'm interested in their credit card offer but wondered what type of limits people got, and which credit agency they use. I will probably call the bank directly if no one has any information. https://www.iccreditunion.org/visa
  22. You may be right , I have not done too much research on rates because it is a month premature. I am coming off a lease, and I am going thru an auto wholesaler who the family has bought vehicles from before, and he told me with the recent fed rate increases , that the best credit scores are getting between 3.35 and 3.9 right now on used vehicles. I am just trying to put myself in the best position. My 720 score has 51 and 2100 reporting from my cap one cards Those are paid off and will stay in the drawer till after the car purchase plus my nfcu is reporting 2500 higher because i tried to get another payment in before reporting date.
  23. I know i don't need 740 but the local Cu told me that is what I need for their 3.9 rate on used vehicles with under 20k miles. I just want to optimize my scores/payments for the next 25 days and then I will go back to working on highest interest rate.
  24. Back in July I put 100k on various credit cards to invest in a venture. Was supposed to be paid back by end of Nov but ran into a few pitfalls and am now looking at Apr 1. I currently owe about 55k . . I have 125k in available credit 131k if you include Walmart. My experian also has a 24k authorized user card so it lists available credit as 155k and is my highest score . Nfcu 25k /34k limit Amex 7k/25k limit Boa 19.5/40k limit chase 3300 , they closed my card because of my activity , it was only 2 months old. This has 0 pct for the next 15 months. I also have a discover card that I pif that reported 980 last month and has 1300 on it this month. Current scores are 720 EXp, 704 Eq and 698 Tu Would like to get my scores above 740 by mid January as I will be financing a 2017/2018 used car and want the best rate. All cards are currently paid above minimums for January and i have an additional 10k minimum and possibly up to 15k to use for payments. Question 1. Is there any advantage to not letting Discover report. I can push that 1300 off till Feb 6 without interest. Question 2. My EX only dropped from 714 to 709 when Chase reported it was closed. Reports were 7 days apart, so is it advantageous to 0 that out even though I have 0 pct and am paying 150 pct of the minimum monthly. Question 3 Before taking into account the auto financing I had been attacking my BOA card because that was the highest rate and NFCU the lowest. Will i get a better bang for my buck if i get my NFCU under 50% vs paying down BOA. Question 4 the last month I have been turned down for CLI from Discover, and my 2 Cap Ones based on my high utilization even though those are 9 balances. I also have a 6k limit Pennfed that i got in August before all these reported. It is 0 pct but i have not transferred anything because of the low limit would it hurt to transfer 2900 to that card or just leave it alone. I also have not asked for a higher limit because I dont want to screw up and get that card closed. Last Question In my Boa online they have been telling me that I have a special offer for a 0 pct free balance transfer offer. Is there any downside to applying for that . I have not seen any talk about Boa special offers if they usually get approved or not. Thanks for any suggestions.
  25. you're right Big Bear, I was thinking 5/12 I am screwed till oct 19 for chase. without wells fargo id be good feb 19.
