  1. I just disputed it online when I found out it was on there only after being denied a lease on a home. The leasing company says nothing bad for 5ys prior. This collection is 5 years this November. [emoji52] If my memory serves me right it was a no deposit move in special. So I did not get my deposit back. I had just paid rent I do recall that so this happened probably the second week into the month. I recall signing a paper to get out of the lease, as they said they'd let me out free and clear. ( This before corporate got involved telling them they needed proof that my son was there longer than the weekend). I also don't recall getting anything from the apartment complex thereafter. I'm sure the online disputed won't work, but I figured since it's older I'd give it a shot. I did in fact do a walk through, I'd only been there approx 5weeks so everything was in tip top shape. I'm not one to trash a home and I leave things in move in condition. So I really have no idea where this amount comes from, especially considering they were in the wrong I'm surprised they are trying to get something from me to begin with. 2. Thank you so much Mido! Your help has been greatly appreciated! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. My only issue with that is that I've moved to Texas and this is in Florida so I don't see that being possible, at the time. Great idea though, it's an option I'd jump on if I was able to do so. Thanx for the input. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I recently applied for a home to rent and was turned down due to a a "Landlord Collection" that I didn't realize I still had on my report. This is from 2012, I had rented an apartment and they were trying to say I lied on my application. My 18yr old son had come for a weekend visit and they assumed he was staying in a one bedroom apartment with me and proceeded to tell me I needed to leave or I'd be evicted. I fought with them and finally decided to leave because I was fearful over future issues with them since they did this to me. At the last minute they told me I can stay and tried kissing my butt...as I had called corporate at first since I was very upset. At any rate, I seem to have a collections on there for in the amount of $404 I have no clue what this odd amount is even for. This is really frustrating to me, what steps can I take to get this off my record? I have tried a simple dispute saying it doesn't belong to me....I've yet to hear back from Equifax yet and that seems to be the only report it's on. Any suggestions to lead me in the right direction? I'm so frustrated as this hasn't been an issue before. Thanx!
  5. Well, I called. I had already made payment in full on the website. He offered to wave the late fee however since I paid it all off I didn't take the offer. He told me all I could do was dispute it through the experian. So I immediately did so. However I am going to get a draft ready to be sent in to the higher ups to try to get it rectified as I'm sure my request will be denied. I'm soooo sad. I was waiting for my cap one card to post as I paid it half way down last month as we are needing to move and I was expecting my score to go up not down 40 points. Bummer. 6. Thank you. So I'm going to call them now, should I offer a PIF and see if they'll remove it or is that pointless with a rep? Either way I'm going to PIF though. I love having credit, not so much the bills lol. I over did it on stupid store cards so my goal this year is to pay them all off and sock drawer them. Because this is what happens, so many you lose track. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I have so many credit cards and I've never had a late payment, let alone a 30 day. I just lost my Grandmother and had to pay bills from out of state and managed to miss one of those. It only carries a balance of $88 and it's for NY &Co. What are the chances I call and PIF that they remove it? I am in tears right now. I don't need this on my report. I'm so upset with myself. [emoji25][emoji35] Is there anything I can say to try to get it removed? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Hey guys. I've been struggling to keep afloat this last year, it seems it's problem after problem. Somehow I've managed to not miss a single credit card payment, although they've all racked up. I mainly have a lot of store cards, with the exception of Cap one. Lucky for me, and I thank my angel above, I won $1000, this is a big deal as I do not get taxes back like most. So my question to ya'll is, should I pay off a few store cards OR pay my cap one in full? It's still a secured card, $200 is my deposit on the card and the other $450 they gave me. Either way, I want to make the best move for my credit score. Thanx much for your advice!
  9. Boo. Ok will do. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  10. Question, last week I was approved for Walmart. So I have about 10 store cards and a cap 1 secured. I've had the secured for 14 months. So I applied for a unsecured and got the denial. Today I got the email basically saying I had credit for to short of time blah blah blah. Scores aren't great all 3 between 600 and 630. Is it worth calling to try to overturn it? If so do I wait until Monday and what do I say? I'm not sure if I should hold off or go for a sub prime crappy unsecured card or hold off to try for a decent card. I do have a few medical on my reports still but I'm in the middle of a move so I can't fight them yet. My hubby, had horrible credit basically from a tax line (b4 he was with me) and child support arrears he working on paying off. I put him as AU on my cards and he's getting offers already. I can't believe medical is holding me back yet his 3 charge offs aren't. Credit is so weird! Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  11. Nateinva, I just downloaded that app Prism last night. I've yet to check it out though. Junkbuyer, maybe so, not sure could very well just be CK themselves. It's been over a year so tomorrow I'm going to pull my free reports. It'll be fun comparing them to last year. Although I still have a few things to battle with, just moved to Texas so once I'm settled with a new DL I'm gonna fight the battle. So many great suggestions, thanx! It seems my best bet is AutoPay and a spreadsheet, so I'll try that route. I'll also keep my calendar reminders as well or an app, The more the merrier! (: Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  12. Thanx RiotAct, I'm going to give it a try. I do NOT want a late payment. I may see if I can change the due date on them so they are all the same. That may help, although I'm not sure that's an option. Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  13. Ah, why didn't I think of AutoPay?! Good idea...DUH! That went right over my head, lol I'll make a spreadsheet sheet that may make things a bit easier. I've been setting it on my calendar on my phone but I needed a better plan. Thanx! Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
  14. Thankfully I'm not one to rely on these fakos. I use CCT. However from time to time I hop on and see what it says. Today, my score supposedly dropped 90 points and my Equifax has been wiped of all accounts, inquires collections...EVERYTHING. On another note, what do you guys suggest I use to keep better track of all my credit card due dates? I'm afraid I'll miss one somewhere. Although I have about 10 only 4 have a balance. One more question, I've been with cap 1 for 1.5 yrs with a secured, the pre qualify STILL doesn't recommend anything other than secured. But I'm itching to try to app anyhow. My scores are all about 600-620. Nothing great, but I'm getting there. Thanx! (: Sent from my SM-N910T using Tapatalk
