  1. This is what I was thinking since it had been over 1yr since last activity of any kind. It is entirely possible that CrapOne has stopped reporting AU accounts. What did CrapOne say when your father called to inquire (since he has standing to discuss the account and you don't). They continue to report AU accounts apparently. Not sure what they told him about non-usage and reporting, so only half an answer.
  2. It is entirely possible that CrapOne has stopped reporting AU accounts. What did CrapOne say when your father called to inquire (since he has standing to discuss the account and you don't). I'm not sure, he's difficult. He still doesn't understand why I want it to report. I'm going to have to end up calling in AS him. It is still showing on my EQ report. I can't get in the backdoor on EX for some reason. Not advisable. That is a GREAT way to cost HIM the account AND get a fraud alert attached to his reports. You are an AU. You HAVE NOT indicated you have a written power of attorney to act on his behalf, and even if you did, most lenders will not accept it until THEY have a copy of the document. Good grief, I did not expect this overreaction. His address is on my report because I lived there until I was 18. I don't think that's unusual. There's no NEED for the AU card to report, and I don't think I even gave the impression that I thought CapOne/TU was at fault for not doing so. It was really nice because it inflated my score with 30 years of good history as opposed to only 3/4. It's a dollar store version of D*. He called and asked them to please report the AU account to the CRAs. They obliged and fired off a request that the CRAs report everything that CapOne provides them. Took less than 5 minutes.
  3. CV, why would you need to add yourself as an AU to any cards to begin with? Not helpful, just curious.
  4. The 6 month SP works whether or not I have a balance.
  5. +$1500 Citi CLI exposure at $39,000 with them

  7. I got my Dad to swipe the thing in mid/late November, but it still hasn't reported to TU. I called them and TU frontline was adamant that it's a Capital One issue, so I'll be calling them again to see how far I can get. I know this isn't relevant for most, but I'm just going to keep a running tab on how this shakes out in case it could help someone with something similar down the road.
  8. There's no way we would find ourselves at 20% equity just off an appraisal right now. 10% at best I think.
  9. That's what we are doing now, just wasn't sure if there was an obvious path to cut the MIP ASAP. Patience is a virtue I guess.

    refi

I don't even know if there is a point to refi right now, but I thought I'd run it by the board to see if there were any suggestions. In an FHA loan right now, approaching 1 year. Sale price of 273. Current balance of 264. If we did an appraisal right now, it would come back around 285 (very conservative estimate). Maybe as high as 295. Even in a best case scenario, we don't have 20% equity. In a worst case scenario, we have well over 5%. What are the possibilities of refi'ing into one of those conventional loans that only require 5% down with no MIP?
  11. They don't take credit cards as a form of deposit. Cash or cash equivalents only. Additionally, the phone number printed on the mailer I received sent me to some weird automated messages that offered me promo after promo. 6 or 7 in a row before I hung up. Had to go in branch to do it. I have LN frozen and had no issues opening a checkings/savings account. I took a $200 bonus and it posted the next business day.
  12. As an AU don’t you have a card also? Call or go online and see that it isn’t closed. If closed, you may be out of luck. If not, you really should be using it every once in a while if you really want to keep it. No, I just wanted it for the age, so I've never had an actual card. I'll try and get him to work that. Reopen if closed. I know that sometimes companies won't report activity if you aren't using it, but for it to completely drop off reports? Even if it got closed? That seems weird.
  13. My oldest tradeline is a ~31yo Capital One card that I'm an AU on. Next oldest account is 4 years old. It's my Dad's and he never uses it. I got some credit monitoring alerts and apparently it has dropped off my TU report. Not sure about EQ and EX yet, but EQ usually updates on CK faster for me than TU and it's still on there. He says he didn't close the card, but that he hasn't used it in months. Is it possible to swipe it once to get this thing reporting again?
