So, following others advice, I just applied for 2 more cards. I checked creditpulls to see who would pull eq or tu in California based on my 680ish FICO (from myfico today) Applied for Chase freedom and Discover IT. Both told me to wait. Called Chase analyst backdoor first. They told me my rebuilding hasn't been long enough, with no recent installments. They also said I had a $50 CO from wamu. No clue what that CO is, doesn't appear on my reports so no way to dispute. Discover told not enough recent history, no recent installments. But they offered me a 1500 limit Discover IT with less rewards than what I applied for but no AF. Figured I'd take it since I just took two pulls to the chin. She told me to check back in 90 days for a CLI. Figure I'll use the heck out of it and give it 90 days. Weak sauce. Should I try Chase analyst again on Monday. Or does no really mean no?

? Point is why do this if it's not worth it? Sounds like OP just wants to take out a personal loan and then immediately pay it back using the money that was loaned to him/her Just because I do not need a mortgage or a car now, doesn't mean I won't need one next year...especially investment properties. I want access to the best financial products available, be them Credit Union memberships, revolving products, installment products etc. I know that my idea will not be worth 100 points or anything ridiculous. But even 5-10 points can be the difference in 0.2-0.5% rates, which on say 500K of debt would be 1k-2.5k annually. Since I do not need a mortgage or a car, I'm just trying to find a way to add installment accounts on the cheap... Still never got a response about if anyone knows of personal loans that ONLY charge interest on the balance due as opposed to interest being tallied in full at the origination date... I would do 2 or 3 different secured personal loan type products if I can find the right one just to thicken the file. Most installment loans only charge interest on the outstanding balance. Read the terms carefully before you take the loan. This is a waste of time and money, but, hey, free country. Good luck. Don't take me wrong...only reason im here posting is to get advice from others...well other than people who say not to worry about my credit reports...

Just a couple weeks ago, I had no unsecured credit. I got BofA to graduate me and give me CLI to 6K. Got Barclays to accept on recon...but BofA CLI hadn't reported yet so they matched the original 3K Limit. Afraid If I go after anything more now, that A. Barclays will cry, and that B. I'll get pigeonholed into other low limit cards which can be a hard cycle to break out of. My plan on the CC's was/is to wait 4-6 months, in the meantime utilize them a lot (including putting business charges I normally charge to my Biz Plat Amex that I will get reimbursed for same day), PIF several times a month. Hit up BofA first for a good CLI, the hit up Barclays to match the BofA limit. At that point, I should be ready to app for some new good cards with good matching limits. That just leaves me with the installment (or lack thereof ) issue...

I'm working on everything. Cleaned off the baddies other than PR. Cleaned up personal info. Got secure BofA graduated to unsecure/cli with recon. Got a Barclays with recon. Got a VS toy card. All of the above in the last ~20 days. Talking to biz partner about Amex AU and eventual d*. My original denials all said negative pr's (dollar bill/whychat/609) and no recent installments...so that's my focus now. Mortgage and car are both not needed. Only other installment I could actually utilize would be a new mattress...0% 12 months not sure if they report though (some company progressive)

No I get it thanks! Like I said, just looking to play some games to thicken my file. After I clean off some paid tax liens, I can look at the CU route for some new good cards etc. Actually looking at that route already...but don't want to jump the gun

Just trying to thicken my file. Figure paying 10% on a $200 balance that was amortizing away wasn't a bad price to pay to get some more current, positive history added to my reports. I might entertain purchasing an income property next year when these files are squeaky clean. My company just got me a Kia SUV, so I wont need a car for a minute.

I don't need to purchase anything, but my FICO's say "Lack of Installment..." So, does anyone know a way to get like a 5000 installment loan for a year or two. And then pay back 4800 after the first month. And only pay interest the last 11 or 23 months on the 200 remaining balance?

Hmm, my brother served in 3/5 Southern Command in the 80s. But he was also a contractor in Iraq in 2010. Wonder if the 8 year rule applies to contractors serving on DOD/Army bases during wartime? My brother is 15 years older than me, has borrowed money, lived at my house narced me out to my dad when I was younger and been pretty much been a PITA my whole life to me. This could be his redeeming moment!!!

I've been leery of messing with the closed positive TL's for fear of them just getting lost. My files are already thin as it is. 08-12 I lived on a cash basis. Any money that went into a bank (post-garnishments to CA BOE) went to Dept of Treas or CA FTB. EX actually supplied the bad addy as opposed to just reporting it, so I want it removed.

I filed on online complaint with the California Office of the Attorney General. I will be sending in a duplicate complaint via US Mail to them as well. http://oag.ca.gov/contact/consumer-complaint-against-business-or-company - Here's the URL to the CA AG complaint form if anyone is interested. I'm also going to send the same complaint to BBB, to Experian's Costa Mesa CA address, to Experian's Consumer department in Texas, to the California Dept of Consumer Affairs I guess ill just stick with the basics I learned long ago...Locate, engage and destroy by maneuver and fire. Here's some more Experian info: Experian 475 Anton Blvd Bldg D Costa Mesa, CA 92626 ATTN; Specialist Service, Consumer Affairs Experian Regulatory Affairs - Consumer Affairs Special Services 701 Experian Pkwy Allen, TX The non-PO Box addresses are getting UPS Second Day letters as opposed to US Mail CMRRR...I don't want to wait in line at the post office.

Ive disputed a bad address with EX. Online they said no its reported by a creditor. Mailed in and was denied. Finally called...no its tied to multiple tradelines (and do I want to dispute all of them including positives?) Saturday I applied for a VS store card. Supplied my accurate current address etc. Comenity or whatever did an HP on EX, approved me, but came back with a mailing address of the inaccurate address. Called EX again, told them they supplied an inaccurate address to a bank, please delete. No its not their fault, even if they supply wrong info blah blah. TU and EQ deleted no problem...EX refuses even AFTER they caused a problem with their inaccurate database and information supply. Any ideas what to quote etc to approach them again? (Yes ive read many of the ex address threads)

The Master Credit Cards That Offer Primary Car Rental Insurance Thread
Konrad2012 replied to BobWang's topic in Credit Forum
The Amex is a $17-$19 flat rate per rental for the premier.. If you rent more than one day, it's a bargain. Rent for a week it's nothing It also covers "loss of use". Very important. If the car is out of service for 6-15 days, you are liable for the max rental rate per day times number of days out of service without this coverage. This is huge and very hard to dispute otherwise without an expensive attorney. -
I would call back and try again! Your situation is pretty close to mine, just you have more recent open accounts. I called 866.408.4064 (I have no idea how many numbers they have, if this is the standard one etc) Put on your salesmen clothes, and tell them how you are actively seeking associations/partnerships with a few select companies to work with long term in helping you achieve your financial goals and how you've heard that Barclays is a great long term partner to be affiliated with. If not, all you lost was a couple minutes of your time.

So how bad did Dodge just screw my credit score?

But did you get the charger? -
Aug 7th my TU FAKO showed 746. Balances of 4800 of which 4710 was a 6 1/2 year old Cap1 CO. 1 open revolver, a BofA Secured with 3K limit, 90 balance reporting Aug 13th my TU FAKO showed 747. Balance of 90. Cap1 CO deleted as obsolete. Aug 16th my TU FAKO shows 765. Balance of 750. BofA revolver now BofA Cash Rewards Visa Sig reporting unsecured with 6K limit (took call to Credit Analyst to make this happen), 750 balance reporting. New Barclays Rewards MC revolver with 3K limit should appear on reports shortly (took call to Credit Analyst for approval). Interested to see what this does. TU is the only report I can pull daily. I have CCT, but it only gave me access to EX a single time. I still need a way to pull EX and EQ daily. I have a GW off to a mortgage company to try and get some love on a120 late. Been closed since 2009, so I expect nothing. But he who dares wins. I have name, address, phone number, employer disputes snailed off to the big three (did what I could online with TU and EX)(also requested new reports sent to show updated info) I have separate Obsolete / No information disputes snailed off to TU and EQ for an $80 medical CA that is set to fall off in Jan 2015.(also requested new reports sent to show updated info) I have an Innovis report on the way Requested LexusNexus opt out based on my financial info being stolen from Target, and BofA just last month sending me a new card out of the blue with no explanation other than they had some "info". All this was done while I was condo hunting in Southern California, then drove 500 miles back to Sonoma County, loaded a moving truck and drove 500 miles back to Southern California. Once personal info is clean, LN taken care of, I will attack my liens and a judgment. Then I'll CLI my Barclays and BofA, and go after my third revolver...some kind of premium card. Blue Cash rewards Preferred? Don't know why, its appealing to me to have Visa, MC and Amex. Id really like a Cathay Pacific Amex, but Im not an HK resident.

ow Could a $450 Annual Credit Card Fee Possibly Be Worth It?
Konrad2012 replied to hegemony's topic in Credit Forum
Have an amex platinum biz card. $200/yr in airline reimbursement Priority pass lounge membership I use frequently. (Ever had a 4 hour layover in Guangzhou only to have a further 4 hour delay? Typhoons, fog and smog in China really suck) The $17 flat rate premium car rental insurance (primary coverage including lack of use coverage) -
I am looking for any new info on liens and judgments (removal of). The dollar bill method threads (ones Im finding at least) are all over two years old. I have some California FTB liens that are paid and/or released, but I want them to disappear. One is for over 7K, but I didn't even owe any tax and had a $140 failure to file penalty. I would like to approach the FTB for a filed in error...since I have a tax lien with NO tax obligations...but I'd like to take a short cut first to save time and frustration. Dealing with the FTB for a withdrawn status is more like my last option. Also have a judgment on record from DCFS (Daimler Chrysler). Mercedes Financial was the OC, DCFS filed the judgment, now they are gone their successor is gone and its just Chrysler. Thinking this one might be easy because of the way that chain will break down. Any advice, experience, tips or reading links would be much appreciated. These are the last things I can do anything about on my reports that don't involve just paying on time and waiting for positive things to age.

Barclays denied me last week with 650 TU (CreditCheckTotal). Called the analyst line today. Explained that in the last week my Cap1 CO had since been removed, that I am disputing a 6 1/2 yr old $80 medical CA that truly isn't mine. Also explained that all my liens and judgments regardless of what they show are paid otherwise I wouldn't keep money in the bank. She didn't bother to recheck anything or do another pull to even confirm what I said, just gave me an approval for a Rewards MC with a 3K limit that matched what my secured BofA card is reporting (the BofA is now unsecured with 6K but its not reporting that yet). In a month or so when the new BofA card is reporting unsecured and the higher limit, do you think Barclays will match? Or will I have to wait 120days?

Closed cards still reporting 5 (positively) years later...
Konrad2012 replied to Konrad2012's topic in Credit Forum
Related to online scores. Actually, I've gotten most of my baddies removed in the last week or so. What's left is ticky tack stuff (except for paid tax liens) like this, or trying to get a mortgage changed thru goodwills that's been closed five years. I've already resolved myself that the tax liens will just be a long term PITA with several strategies required. Hence the reason I just want to make whatever is there as pretty as possible. -
Closed cards still reporting 5 (positively) years later...
Konrad2012 posted a topic in Credit Forum
A sort of repost from a longer winded post I have two old CC's reported as paid on time etc...but both are now closed. One is a Capital One, one is Exxon/Mobile. The Exxon/Mobile shows up as still being paid currently even though its been closed for 5 years on EQ AND TU. Both these accounts show PAID AS AGREED, PAID IN FULL, ZERO BALANCE, CLOSED BY GRANTOR in the comments. Question #1- Does a card reported as Paid as agreed every month for the last 16 years to present help your score even if the card has been closed for 5 years? And if yes to question#2... Question #2- Should I dispute these comments with the CRA's, asking that these comments be changed to PAID AS AGREED, PAID IN FULL, ZERO BALANCE, CLOSED AT REQUEST OF CONSUMER? If they change them, it should look better. But the CRA might just delete that accounts altogether, which could possibly hurt my scores? Any opinions or experience? Thanks! -
Lexis Nexis / Why do I need to clean it?
Konrad2012 replied to christopherchase's topic in Credit Forum
Any new info on Nexus Lexus? To get my file info, they want my SSN and DL#. Considering my next attack will be the Dollar Bill method towards my paid tax liens, supplying them some of this information seems counterintuitive...although I guess they could already have it from the CRA's? Will someone send me an anonymous threatening letter so I can opt-out using their security procedures? Does the security freeze keep CRA's from accessing my files?
