  1. Can you book Alliance Air tickets through Air India with a StarAlliance reward? Have you been to Kangra Valley around Jia/Himichal Pradesh? I have no idea re: the flights unfortunately. I never went to Kangra Valley (I drove through it numerous times but never stopped). I lived for three months just next door though in Dharamsala (McLeod Ganj, Daramkot) which is one of my favorite places in India. Then to the east is Parvati Valley which has some of the most incredible trekking I have ever done. When are you going? No time in particular. Just trying to find places to burn miles that are off the beaten path.
  2. Lets be realistic. Those seven vehicles "parked in the yard" weren't worth anything.
  3. That took some work with a butter knife. Lots of muscles and ligaments and tendons. That's where the teeth came in. Army Strong!
  4. Yep. Don't get too excited by the new car that you forget about the old car...
  5. The person who could bring suit is no longer of this earth...
  6. Theres literally hundreds of $32 tickets left, and probably some more $20s if you hunt hard enough. $32 is still $0.0035/mile. Of course you'll also get 3 UR/$ or 5 MR/$. I didn't even figure that into my analysis since it was late and I was lazy.
  7. https://loyaltylobby.com/2018/06/22/statement-from-iberia-plus-regarding-the-90000-bonus-avios-promo/ Hope everyone got in on this. I was only able to get 3 tickets for $18.01. The rest I had to pay $20.12. $0.0021/mile
  8. FTFY Now if Hostess.ru had offered lifetime Ho Hos to to any woman impregnated by a World Cup star... I could start to see the logic behind that. But it would have to be an African World Cup star - so it would be dark chocolate on the outside, with a white center. too far? You're definitely getting banned for a couple weeks. And I'm pretty sure you know it since you even asked if that was going too far.
  9. Thats what happens when your currency devalues by 50%.
  10. -1 Secured cards will do much more for you than store cards. They CAN hold you back. Also, store cards do not count as a "pry bar" account. -1 Please tell me where I said store cards "do much more" than secured? Seems as though I agreed with the second statement. Where did I say they were "pry bars" for anything? All I was getting at was that they are easy to get, add to FICO utilization and diversity of accounts. Nothing more. You said they were great for rebuilding and newbies which it inaccurate. That is not the way to build a credit profile. It was for me and boosted my scores significantly and almost instantly back when I had a 580. We may disagree, but I'm not inaccurate. Store cards are also not needed for diversity. FICO won't reward you for opening a store card, although they do sometimes generate statements about having too many store accounts.Again, FICO rewarded me for acquiring new store cards. They even included them in my UT when I carried a balance. That's a reward towards FICO in my view. You may not like them. Other people may not like them for not having great rewards. But, FICO liked them and that is fact, not my opinion. Just because a card is easy to get does not mean you should get it.I did not make it a hard rule of thumb that you should get nothing but store cards. I said "typically" they're easier to get. In addition, I would add that you should get one that rewards you and fits your shopping habits. I don't have any store cards that don't reward me in some significant way or another. I'm talking 5% or more. FICO rewarded you for adding revolving accounts, not because they were store cards.I rebuilt from a 500 FICO and have 2 stores cards. A $35K Lowes, a $6K Victoria's Secret. There's no need to load up on garbage cards.
  11. I bought a 1.75L bottle of Bombay Dry Gin last night on sale for $12.99. That's about the cheapest price I've ever seen for a decent quality bottle of alcohol that size. For comparison, the 750mL bottle was $16.99. https://www.hitimewine.net/bombay-gin-175l-103250 I wonder how much I'll spend on fresh grapefruits to drink this whole bottle?
  12. AMEX sent me a metal replacement biz Plat. I also made them send me a plastic card.
  13. Says the guy who gets the most excited about metal cards...
  14. I know others who had 2x Barclays AAviators. Barclays is really odd/lame. Why can't you just apply for the Silver?

  19. My grandma used to serve us kids vanilla ice cream with chunks of cantaloupe cut up into it. I adored it. Yet even with those fond memories I find cantaloupe merely tolerable today. "No man ever steps in the same river twice, for it's not the same river and he's not the same man."
  20. Your score might not improve for a couple years, but your underwriting chances will. But yes, with a 120 late you'll never eclipse 740-750 until the day it drops.
  21. If you have 1yr-2yr old lates that are 90-120, you should take everything anyone gives you as a gift.
