  1. What was the reason? Let me guess not able to verify identity! It didn't give a reason. I'll let you know once I receive the letter. What was the reason? Let me guess not able to verify identity! EX frozen? Nope. All reports are thawed right now.
  2. I'm moving to a new and bigger place soon, so I thought this would be a good product to get the 6 months 0% financing to get some new furniture. Denied. I'm not even sad.
  3. I've dealt with them before. You have to be a resident of Puerto Rico, and they will ask for proof of residency and proof of income. They're pretty conservative if you have a limited credit history, but if you're more established, they're relatively generous. I opened my second card ever with them, and they gave me $1000 limit - I applied four years later for a new card, and they gave me $27.5k (highest limit at the time was 32k) They annoyed me - I applied for the platinum plus, but they approved me for the platinum with $9k. Useless and sockdrawered.
  4. Citi at an ATM. My employer sometimes reimburses me for expenses with cash, and I just go pay it at a Citi ATM.
  5. Adding - Banco Popular Puerto Rico, they pulled TU for a recent AA Credit Card App.
  6. A CLD to $1024 is Sync code for "you haven't used your card in far too long". They did this to my Gap and Amazon cards. I called to try and get them back up, but no dice. So I closed them. I don't need that negativity in my life.
  7. i already have a checking account with PNC - this could be interesting for me. The Dining and Gas categories especially, since I entertain clients for work.
  8. Still listing: Our Consumer card application is unavailable while we make improvements I really wonder what is going on here??? And not to be pedantic, but DC is technically NOT a MasterCard, however the DC card does operate on the MasterCard network. I believe that they were in over their head, and suspended applications for the duration of their contract with Diners Club, at which point someone else will get the franchise.
  9. Relatively quickly. It still me over 3 weeks to get in to NFCU via the Navy League
  10. NFCU has another smaller benefit - if you're taking your financed car with you to a US territory, they're one of the only non-manufacturer financial institutions that will allow it. Them, Penfed, First Tech, and BCU. That's it. Since I'm considering returning to Puerto Rico, this is a big deal for me.
  11. I applied on March 17 and submitted an ID and utility bill. On March 24, I called to ask what was going on. After digging, they found my application and began to process it. On March 28, I received a link to submit an ID and utility bill. I submitted them. On March 31, they hadn't received my utility bill. I submitted it again for the third time. On April 2, Hard Pull. On April 4, "Welcome to NFCU"
  12. I've been looking at this topic for some time, and I think I'm going to join via the NLUS San Diego membership - however, a quick question, is applying by mail mandatory, or can I apply in person at a branch? There are a few not too far from me (including one a block from where I live) Thanks!
  13. I've used it to buy flowers and pay for street parking in Toronto - that's it.
  14. I primarily fly MIA-SJU-MIA for work, and MIA-MCO-MIA for family visits. All domestic flying this year it seems. MIA CL. Sit down, drink a Green Flash IPA, and relax. SJU Avianca Lounge (through PP),. Compared to the CL or an Admiral's Club, it leaves nothing to be desired. But it is generally calm, and I can enjoy some free drinks (especially when the cheapest beer in the terminal is close to $10). For MIA-MCO, I fly AA or DL, so I have lounge access that way, and on the way back, it's almost always DL since the flight time works perfectly, and I use the MCO lounge. No complaints on my end.
  15. I received a letter in the mail today from Convergent, representing Worldwide Asset Purchasing II as the owner of a BOA CC debt, whose DOFD was 10 years ago. It's beyond SOL, beyond reporting age, and they're offering to settle for 10%. However, they didn't include the "the law limits how long you can be sued on a debt/we won't sue" notice I've seen online for out-of-date debt. Should I worry about this, or just send them an FOAD?
  16. Finally approved! Now to wait for the card in the mail so I can learn my limit.
  17. Update. I contacted them, and they finally pulled my credit. They replied today asking for a proof of address, and I sent them my phone bill. Hopefully this means approval!
  18. Update. I was declined, even after unfreezing EX and notifying them. The reasons that they gave are: -Serious delinquency and public record or collection filed -Number of accounts with delinquency -Ration of balance to limit on bank revolving or other rev accounts too high -Level of delinquency on accounts That seemed odd, so I backdoored my EX report, and not only are there no public records, delinquencies, or balances beyond 1% on revolving accounts.... they never even pulled my reports. No hard inquiry, no soft inquiry. I'm seriously bothered by this.
  19. Reply received - they want my ID and 3 months financials, even though they already dinged me on EX. I'm not entirely opposed to sending them my details, but the problem is I was unemployed 3 months ago, and only joined the employed in the past 6 weeks - so my financials wouldn't reflect my earnings. Argh.
  20. All clean, all close to or over 800, and paid down my student loans dramatically,
  21. Email them and ask about your application. Give them your name, DOB, and Drivers licence ID number and they can locate your application and will email you the status cardinfo@icbc-us.com BTW Online banking is possible, however its not the most convenient. I Had to wait a day until I Could enroll, and if you enter your password too many times you have to either go in branch and have them reset your account or wait 24 hours. I sent them an email, so now the waiting game continues. In the meantime, I signed up for the Ameriprise Amex Plat so I can get some free lounge access at my home airport (MIA) for the next year. I'm getting over a nasty bug right now, not sure what it is, but it's the same one I tend to get when I fly longer than 6 hours.
  22. Update. So, the reason I'm interested in this is mostly because my current employer will be sending me to our representative offices in Beijing and Shanghai once a month, and partly for the weird card factor. Also, because our corporate cards are private label FNBO Visas which are terrible. So I unfroze EX and took the hit. I'll hear back in 15 days. Not feeling too good about this.
