  1. My wife had a 30 day late about a year ago. Her scores were in the 700 plus range and that one 30 day late plunged her scores to 600's. I know 30 day lates don't count after awhile so not really worried about that part. We are ready to apply for a mortgage and her scores are now in the 680 range across the board after I paid off her debt for credit cards, At this point, she has no debt except for a few hundred on one credit card (She has 4 major cards). My question is, what would be the best way, or how do I get her scores over 700? Suggestions and scenarios would be helpful. Thanks in advance!
  2. I have to change my name as I am no longer in despair, but I have a question. I came into a huge amount of money and my wife and I have about 45000 in debt combined. We want to get a mortgage so I figure paying off cards and loans is a good thing. My credit score is low 700's, and my wife's is about 650........she is recovering from a 30 day late about 8 months ago. Some of her credit cards are almost maxed. Is there a strategy to pay off her credit cards and loans to raise her score a significant amount and even mine? Do I pay off everything or do I pay a certain amount/percentage over time? Thanks in advance!
  3. UPDATE: Got in contact with my bulldog attorney and I was very lucky......I hit the jackpot! My attorney called the other attorney and we settled for $4000.00 settlement and had the other attorney agree to paid in full and vacate the judgement! ALL IN BLACK AND WHITE! I AM FREE!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. I do not remember date of last payment and I have no documents. I believe it was sometime in 2009. The paperwork for the judgement was filed by the same attorney who sent me the letter in August of 2011. Judgement was in August of 2013. BOA Charge Off isnt on my reports. Using MYFICO and ALL of my reports are clean. The BOA fell off in 2016, November I believe. I just want to add something as I do not know if this affects anything. I got a dunning letter from a collection agency AFTER the judgement. I DV'd them and they gave it to another collection agency. If you look in my previous topics I posted, we had a conversation about this. I then DV'd the second collection agency and got a letter saying that they would get back to me. Now I get the above mentioned letter from the attorney. What should I do? DV the attorney? They have already sued you and won. They have a judgment and you know about it. My opinion: WAY too late for DV now. As someone else said they can garnish your wages in addition they can also levy your bank accounts and they don't need to notify you of either before they do it. You will find out when the money is gone. You MIGHT get lucky if your employer notifies you before the first deduction. Whether it is reporting or not my suggestion is your best bet is to see if you can do a lump sum settlement and make the entire thing go away in one shot. I was thinking that. Thanks for your input. Don't know if he would be willing to play ball.....but I guess only thing I can do is find out.....
  5. The amount is 7800 which I have. I can pay it off. Do you think it will show up on my reports after I do saying settled?

  8. So it has been awhile since I have posted here. My FICO scores are all in the low 700 range and amy CR's are clean all the way across the board. Today I checked the mail and I get a letter from an attorney, one who has written to me before. Sometime in 2013, I was served with court papers in regards to answering a debt that I owed to BOA. My wife signed for it, but for whatever reason I never got it. Later on, I get a court judgement paper in the mail letting me know of a default judgement against me. I have verified that it is with the courts. However, I guess I am lucky that it is NOT on my CR's. The letter I got today says : re: Debt Validation Notice and the judgement number, account number, previous account number etc. The letter is asking me to pay the judgement. On the bottom notice is the usual verbage about "This communication is from a debt collector" and then the usual "unless you, within 30 days after you have received this notice, dispute the validity of the debt or any portion of the debt, the debt will be assumed to be valid by us" blah, blah, blah. At this point, what should I do or what can I do? Any help would be appreciated. Need guidance please.....Thanks!
  9. I had a 15k limit on my Barclays card, and just had a heart attack when I got an email saying I was approaching my credit limit. First thing I thought was fraud. I called them immediatey and found my credit limit was decreased. My credit limit was decreased to $750.00 !!!! The guy was babbling and couldn't tell me why. so I told him that they put me in a predicament because I am on a trip and I couldn't pay for my hotel, airfare or even food. They guy said he could transfer me to the credit department which he did, The new credit agent asked me a few questions. He then said that my credit limit was able to be restored to the 15k. He said based on the review and perfect payment, there wasn't a problem doing that. Why do they put you through the BS?

Will do that ! Thanks, and will let you know what I get back. By the way...Plaintiff is FIA Card Services. (BOA) Then they have to transfer it thru the courts and record a new owner of the judgment Just got a letter back from them today. Basically they say that they are suspending all collection activity and have forwarded the request (DV) to the creditor. They say that upon fulfillment of the request, they will forward received documentation. Advice?

    JDB's

Hi Breeze, yeah, its been awhile since I started with basics. So if you saw my earlier post, a lawyer got in contact with me first. Sent them a DV letter, they verified. I sent another letter asking for PFD, and they never responded. Years later, they were going to sue me and sent me papers which my wife signed for, but I never saw or got those papers. ( Long story). Anyway, fast forward till a few months back and I get a collection notice. I DV that, and they send me a copy of the judgement in favor of FIA Card Service. I go to court and double check and it's legit. I plan to pay it, but then I got another collection notice from another collection agency, LTD Financial, so now I am going to DV them per ICANH.

So I'm stuck with this judgement which I have verified. I have a hard copy of the judgement from the court house. I have a few question: 1. LTD Financial Services is a JDB per an internet site. Does anyone know if they are truly a JDB? 2. A JDB CANNOT put on collection on my CR.....right? 3. Should I even DV them?
  15. Thanks.....that is very useful information. I didnt know that, but just glad I have the funds to pay it off.....
