  1. Discover- $50K Chase Freedom Unlimited- $26K USbank- $25K
  2. Discovery going bankrupt? Yes, Virginia, there IS a Santa Claus!!! The people mashing daily are all at 50k? I think there is definitely a chunk of people who all hit the income verification required for the next CLI and that just takes the fun out of it. My last attempt was at a 46K limit. They offered 52K with POI or 50K without it. I took the 50K and moved on. Another 2K just wasn't worth the effort then. Maybe in the future, I'll feel the need?
  3. Well this is fun. I logged onto my Sallie Mae, now Commence account and see this. They owe me substantially less. ($134.)
  4. Wanted to make sure your number actually worked? Your guess is as good as mine? All my reports are either frozen or have extended fraud alerts attached so I expect to speak to someone whenever I make any changes to my accounts. That one call was an anomaly.
  5. My caller ID indicated Discover called me after an increase request via the button. My phone rang once and the call disconnected. No call back from either end. They gave me the increase anyway.
  6. "Every time you go to a new doctor or dentist and they give you a clipboard brimming with documents to fill out and sign, notice how they always ask for your Social Security number?" Since I am a medicare recipient, refusing to provide a SS number is pointless. My medicare account number is my SS number with a single letter suffix added.
  7. Back in '14 when i joined I was just a guy with some nondescript plastic in his wallet who used a debit card most of the time. My credit rating was already 'good enough.' CB provided the info I needed to make it excellent. Thanks to CB: 1. I learned how to maximize C/C rewards to suit my spending situation. 2. I increased my personal credit lines to near $200K. Not a lot by some standards but way more than I can ever envision using. 3. I learned how to closely monitor my inquiries, credit reports and scores.(See #4) 4. I was fully prepared to quickly and confidently shut down an ID thief. I may not say much here but I love this site.
  8. Well, this is disappointing. I hit the rev limiter on Amazon, gas and groceries every month.
  9. It was 90 days to the day since my CLI attempt via the button. Previously, I've randomly waited from 30 to 90 days before hitting the button. I was offered 52K with POI or 50K without it. I accepted the 50K and thanked them for their generosity. Discover FICO was 841 as of 12/12/16 Account CLI history: Account opened 12/2013- Opening CL- 8500 No CLI's of any kind prior to 4/25/2015 Luv Button results to date: 4/25/2015- CLI 1500 to 10K 5/25/2015- CLI 1500 to 11.5K 8/01/2015- CLI 4000 to 15.5K 11/2/2015- CLI 6000 to 21.5K 01/5/2016- CLI 500 to 22K 3/22/2016- CLI 6000 to 28K 6/01/2016- CLI 6000 to 34K 7/08/2016- CLI 6000 to 40K 8/8/2016 - Request declined- My 1st "Not enough experience..." letter. Though 'disappointed,' I forged onward. 9/12/2016- CLI 6000 to 46K 12/12/16- CLI 4000 to 50K How did you utilize your account in those increase periods ? I use it almost exclusively for purchases in the 5% rewards category and PIF as soon as the purchases post. Monthly transaction totals vary from less than $20 to mid $100's. The largest transaction since I opened the account was less than $1000.

  11. This was a very weird CLI. It took Discover 10 days to process the request. I hit the button on 9/2 and received the 2 day notice. I checked the site daily after the request. I got the 2 day pending notice every day after the 2nd. As of this morning the CLI request page had reset. Discover FICO was 830 as of 8/27 Account CLI history: Account opened 12/2013- Opening CL- 8500 No CLI's sought or auto-received prior to 4/25/2015 Luv Button results to date: 4/25/2015- CLI 1500 to 10K 5/25/2015- CLI 1500 to 11.5K 8/01/2015- CLI 4000 to 15.5K 11/2/2015- CLI 6000 to 21.5K 01/5/2016- CLI 500 to 22K 3/22/2016- CLI 6000 to 28K 6/01/2016- CLI 6000 to 34K 7/08/2016- CLI 6000 to 40K 8/8/2016 - Request declined- 'Not enough experience..." 12. A recently paid off car loan reported and took me from 845 to 831. Boy, was I pissed. (Yes, I'm kidding!)
  13. That exact conversation occurred with my last vehicle purchase via personal check. I had clearly correct ID and indicated I was willing to wait until the check cleared to take delivery. The dealer insisted he 'had' to run the 'credit' check. I made it perfectly clear I was not about to do business after being subjected to such an insulting comment. I left and found a more accommodating dealer.
