  1. sorry I quoted that funky the response is within the quote lol
  2. So we've decided on the two locations were going to shooting for MAY16, Phuket and Bali. So the rout will be NRT- HKT For 6 days shooting for the Westin Siray bay Resort in Phuket through SPG 37,500 points which we will use once my wife and I merge our 25k sign ups unless the 30k pops up anytime soon, then off to Bali, Indonesia where we will stay at the Marriott Courtyard Nusa Dua for 6 nights for 125000 points, after we again merge our Marriott points we will utilize our advantage cards @50k each and a CSP with 40k to top off a reward if needed in order to fly to and from. Is this logistically sound? The questions I need help being answered 1. How far out in advance is it best to book flights and hotels? 2. Am I going about this the most effective way? 3. What would you change? Keep in mind I'll be flying with two little ones by that time so first class is not in my future
  3. As far when it comes times to app for cards which being in the 760 range I wouldn't even worry, I've app'd for 3 cards at a time truly utilizing the credit pull database big time. Checking to see if maybe one company I'm looking at pulls only Transunion if the other two are frozen, or if a company is willing to only pull equifax if the other two are frozen and knowing which companies HAVE to pull experian. It's worked effectively for myself! As long as your spending habits match the bonuses and your able to hit that limit within the given time. My wife are just starting this technique as well where we will start to merge points for hotel stays, pretty excited! My question when it comes to churning is how long should you wait between sprees, is 6 months enough because it will pop back up score at that time frame? And when it comes time to re sign up for a new bonus on a card that you currently have, do you actually close the current card after moving the CL or do you apply for the same card you currently have to get the new sign up bonus after the 24 month typical waiting period?? Also does Chase do a 2 for 1 when it comes time to app for the CSP and BA, I'll be at 5 cards within about 24 months just want to know if this is worth an attempt?
  4. You don't have to fly coach with miles. Yes, it takes more planning and flexibility, but you can fly business and first with miles as well. That is something I did not know about the CSP, because I've experimented around with the othe cards I have to see if it would recognize restaurants or gas and no luck yet. Thats why I'm done putting off the CSP it's going to end up being my go to, especially with the Arrival Plus and their new changes When it comes to first class or business I won't be able to fly it anyways because we will have our 1 year old, but if the grandparents can watch her then dw and I will be hopefully participating in that experience!
  5. Thank you for the Congrats! So currently I was looking at a tour of South Asia, along the lines of South Korea, Vietnam, Bali, and Singapore and then back to Japan. What do you and everyone else suggest as getting the most out of my miles, keep in mind Dw and our little will be with. What airlines specifically for these locations have people flown to and have gotten the best use of their miles?
  6. Thanks solely to CB I'm finally to the point where my Credit lines are pretty well established and if all else fails my reconsideration "Sweet Talking" abilities are pretty solid lol Again thank you EVERYONE! BUT what I'm here to ask is what is the most effective way to capitalize on all the amazing Sign up bonuses out there? I Spend roughly 20k a year on my credit cards, the only way I pay for things! I just app'd and got approved for the Marriott preferred 70k with 1-4 Cat. on approval and 1st year AF waived and the AAdvantage Platinum 50k sign up, so over the next 3 months Ill be doing 5,000 in spending. How long should I wait till my next sign up? 6 mos? I'm stationed here in Japan, so still deciding what kind of trip to put together for the family, so Im just wondering what kind of trips overseas you've put together and what you suggest for me to go after next? I'm thinking CSP and British Airways for 1:1 transfer and the SPG for stays?? Maybe a European Tour?? Maybe South Asia? Please any insight on your best tactics for building miles, Thank you again
  7. Until then, at your spending level your net earnings are about on par with a Capital One Quicksilver. +1 If that's all you spend on it, get a no AF 2% cash back card to come out ahead. What card do you suggest getting with a 2% as a number one go to?
  8. Just Waiting for Barclay to recognize the SCRA Benefits and then NO AF!
  9. The US Air card has your DM# embossed on the front of the card. Did your daughter put her own DM# on her AU card? Does the Au card even have a DM#? The Boarding Zone Priority is printed on your boarding pass, and is linked to your DM# or class of service. The free checked bag will again be linked to your DM#. US Air definitely isn't going to mail your daughter a companion certificate. Your daughter ought to scoop up a US Air card herself while they are still available. The 50K DM's are a steal in and of themselves. Thanks for the info. My card came without a DM# They've also assigned me four different numbers so far and I still haven't been able to get them to actually credit any miles to the correct account. Haven't got an AU card, so I don't know about that, but if someone else does, I'd love to hear. Call and ask for a card with your DM number on it. They will send you one and clear up confusion about which account is linked to that card. That will also link your account to the DM number you want to use. I've spent about 9 hours on the phone with both Barclay and US Air this last week. Over a dozen phone calls. And I've received three different letters from Barclay notifying me that they've changed my Dividend Miles account (to a different number each time) because "there may have been an error in linking your US Airways MasterCard with the Dividend Miles frequent flyer account number provided to us." Asking for a new card is the last thing that's going to fix this problem. Overall, it's been a nightmare. In fact, I've literally woken up in the middle of the night stressing out over this. I haven't been sharing it here because I know it's the exception, not the rule. At this point, I've basically just thrown the $89 AF out the window as it appears I will be receiving absolutely zero benefits from this card as the only travel I'll be doing in the next 18 months is happening in less than 5 weeks. Was hoping if I added DD as an AU we could at least get something. But that appears to be the no-go I feared as well. As always I appreciate y'all's input (even if it's not what I wanted to hear). C'est la vie. I rolled the dice and they came up craps. Had the same issue about a year ago, finally I gave up and asked for the Arrival + instead, I made over $1000 in statement credit last year because of their 2% on all purchases and 10% bonus when redeeming for statement credit, personally best Card I could ever have dreamed of! IMO get this card and wait the 2 mins extra to board the plane How much are you going to spend on the Arrival+ in the second year? That thing can be a turd if you don't push enough through it. This year probably 12000, not nearly as much as last year but Im overseas in Japan so the No International fees work really well
  10. Completely agree with this, save the INQs and wasted Bonuses, use those cards to make yourself money! With those reports you'll have no issues getting what you want
  11. Tell me your ways!! How did you get the CO off??? Its holding me down
