  1. Because the Chase Disney card is a co-branded card, does this get around Chase's rule about "no more than 5 new accounts in 2 years"? I want a Star Wars card.
  2. I got Venture with EX on ice, EQ and TU open with 3.5 yr old BK7 showing. 5K approval with TU FICO at 673 according to Barclay's free FICO. EDIT: I was denied Venture One shortly after with the same reports. CAP1 has been pushing Venture, lowering criteria, they want the AF.
  3. Barclays Rewards for avg. credit. I was aproved 2 years post BK just after Cap1 QS1 with only 2 other "secured" cards 18 months and 12 months old. Citi Bank has a 7 year post BK rule Amex has a new 5 year post BK rule B of A is about 4 years Chase 3-4 years Barclays is a good option, read in the BK Forum in the pinned topics "BK friendy creditors thread." there is a list on page 1 that is old but still very good info.
  4. The worst payment history you can have is "Failed to Pay". This is why a 60 day late hurts more than a 30 day late. Many say that paying a CA won't help your FICO, because the CA will still be there. IME, this is true. But think about it, if an UW is reviewing your reports and see's a debt that is being listed by the OC as "in collections". This tells the UW you "Failed to Pay" your obligation. If the UW see's the TL as "closed 0 balance" it tell them that you had an issue, but you made good and paid your obligation at some point. This looks better to a person, FICO 08 may not care, but that is why the FICO 09 is going to ignore paid collections and medical collections in the near future. If you can pay it, just pay it.
  5. I have Verizon on my reports (all three). Verizon failed to provide service at my residence and I cancelled service. They wanted me to pay an early termination fee of 200.00 per line for three lines. I told them to FOAD. Later I recieved a letter from the CA offering a settlement. Only Verizon reports to the CRA and the CA three way called Verizon informing them that I wanted to take the settlement. The settlement was for what I owed minus the early termination fees (Fair). My report now show 0 Balance "Settled for less than the full amount". IMO, a 0 balance CA or other neg is better than any balance. It is now paid and they no longer update it. Pay it.
  6. With CU's I claim only my income as most CU's want it this way. Other creditors I'll claim HH. Agreed, I claim only my income with NFCU.
  7. You can claim any income you have resonable access to and expect to continue having access to. I claim household.
  8. I've come to really love Washington. Have you tried a place in Tacoma called Frisko Freeze? How long out of Seattle btw? Moved to San Diego in 2005. Last visit was 2008 and no ding-a-ling's Deluxe on that trip. I need to plan a trip and visit my family, it's been awhile.
  9. The point is to not open up a lot of low limit cards. 1 won't hurt you, but if your entire portfolio of cards have low limits, that's toy card hell. "1 won't hurt you." Do you mean the 300 Target? Or is the 1200 Dell a decent card? 1400 Fingerhut will get closed regardless. I need to update my siggy, other than these three my lowest limit is 1500 and climbing (Discover) total CLs 45K, thank you CB! Once you have some higher limit cards, it doesn't really matter. Start with trimming the sub prime stuff like Fingerslut first.
  10. The point is to not open up a lot of low limit cards. 1 won't hurt you, but if your entire portfolio of cards have low limits, that's toy card hell. "1 won't hurt you." Edit: and the QS1 wich is due to take off in about 30 more days (calling the EO).
  11. What were they asking for? W2s? Not sure but I own my own company and it sounded un-necessarily complicated for such a small cli I would give AMEX, Chase or Citi more detailed financials for $40K-$50K lines. I'd tell Disco to EAD. Eat A D? I miss Seattle
  12. I guess I am just a little confused, between the advise in this thread (low limit store cards won't hurt) and "Don't get stuck in toy limit hell." If I close these 3 cards, PC my QS1 to QS and get them to match my Venture (will close the Platinum "no value"), Get Mor Furniture to double my limit after paying off the 0% for 24 months offer I got on it now. Maybe close it if they won't raise the limit. Build up my Navy and Barclay cards, My lowest limit will 5K and I will only have 3-4 store cards for a good mix. All of my credit is new (less than two years) and I don't think closing some of these builders (with 1-2 years payment history) will hurt my profile as I add better cards.
  13. I wouldn't start to close down cards that are your oldest cards that have no AF just because they are stingy and won't give you a CLI I agree, I did open my WM card on the same day as Dell. And Mendelssohn always recomends the closing of Fingerhut. I like the 5% at Target, but this CL is far below everything else, except for my Cap1 QS1, which will grow.
  14. Question for the experts? I was thinking about closing some of my low limit store cards at the end of this year. Dell CL 1200. This is my oldest open revolver and will be two years old in Sept. CSR told me that they do NOT do CLI. Fingerhut CL 1400. This card will be two years old in Dec. Target CL 300. This card will be one year old in Sept. I will try for a CLI in Sept, but I was thinking about closing it if they won't budge.
