  1. Oh. I was under the impression that the gas benefit on BCP or other non-Costco cards was limited to stand alone gas stations. It would definitely be nice to get all the benefits on one card, since I don't eat out or travel much.
  2. Update: I finally decided that I would risk the possible denial and went for the BCP. APPROVED! Not sure of limit. I had trouble getting into the online account so I figure I'll just wait a week. Thanks for the encouragement. I was just afraid of denial, but I finally convinced myself it was worth the risk. I decided to wait on the Costco card since it would really only benefit me for the extra 2% on Costco gas, and I'd have to wait so long for the rewards $. Plus I got the $250 bonus plus zero interest for 14 mo. for the BCP, which more than offsets the AF. I then immediately app
  3. Thanks for the replies. I know pre approvals aren't worth all that much. I am just still gun shy from the days when my credit was bad and my income was low and I got denied for everything. I was just wondering if getting an amex with such short revolving was just a pipe dream or if I have a real shot. I like the idea of getting 2013 cards in the future when I'm getting closer to the total garden state of mortgage prep. If I did go for the total spree of BCP costco and then Freedom, should I do it all in one shot or spread out the apps in some way? Anyone know if the costco is easie
  4. First post. Really enjoy reading the forum. I made a lot of mistakes with my credit and it has finally been 7 years since my last mistake. I have 36k in student loans that have established enough credit to pick up some cards. I started with a cap1 secured (200) in April and went for the pre approved platinum offer in May (1000). I also got an amazon store card (400 in May then CLI to 1900 this month). My first big score came with getting in with NFCU because of my brother's service and getting there signature cash rewards visa with 17k limit in June. It definitely felt great. My E
