  1. I just wanted to follow up on this post and say I received an email from Sprint executive office today saying they have sent a request to their credit reporting/collection department to delete the collection from my reports, and she will email again when it's complete and deleted. Thank god! I can't wait to see it gone.
  2. well I stupidly believed the lady when she said it would be removed "right away" and then when I paid, she said it was "already removed" 😕 Also, I read several people saying they disputed it with the CRA's right after paying and got it removed within hours or days. According to the CSR at Sprint I spoke with today, they don't remove them anyway, they just have ERC mark it paid and closed. I am hearing so many conflicting things. No clue what to do now.
  3. There was never an actual Sprint account on my CR, only ERC. I specifically asked her if the ERC collection would be removed, and she said yes. It was still in SOL. It's only been about 3 years or so. It just went into collection in 2019 from what i recall.
  4. Hi, I had an old Sprint bill that went into collections with ERC. Sprint still owned the debt, so I paid them directly on 8/5 via chat. The woman in chat promised twice that the collection would be *removed* "right away". She again confirmed it after I paid. I have seen this happen for others when reading around different forums. So technically, I do have it in writing that Sprint said it would be removed. However, it was not yet removed, so on Tuesday I disputed it with Transunion & Experian (wasn't showing on Equifax). I might have made the mistake of my reason being the creditor was already paid directly, because now all that's happened is ERC updated my account to "paid" and "closed". I have not received a result/response yet from the CRA's, so I'm not sure if this update is a result of my dispute, or they were just updating it as usual protocol since it was paid. So today I went back on chat with Sprint, got pushed around 2 people, then told to call in to customer service on the phone. I told the guy everything that happened and that the lady insisted it would be remove, but he said he couldn't do anything and I need to contact ERC. I'm not dumb. They won't do jack crap if I call them. I have seen plenty of people say this about them. So I sent an email to the executive offices and head of CSR of Sprint and included the official chat transcript from when the CSR insisted twice that it would be removed, asking them to help me. I sent that today. I just got a call from a CSR saying they can't do anything to remove unless it's invalid or an error and she wouldn't honor what the first CSR told me. So I just sent another email to ONLY the executive offices asking them to help. I also am thinking I should start sending letters to ERC to delete the collection. Can someone *please* point me to a really good letter that has been successful in getting deletion? Also, any other helpful tips on this issue would be appreciated. I am planning to buy a house this time next year and need to improve my credit score as quickly as possible.
  5. Well, I found out some relieving news - PayPal and its collection agencies do NOT report to the credit bureaus...they said so themselves on the BBB. So they won't be showing up. The one I am definitely disputing regardless, because I do not think it is mine, and read online a lot of people having the same issue with that CA and that they ended up being fraudulent accounts. The one I know is mine, I can work on paying off over time. So then I will definitely take care of the Sprint one and use my money for that, pay them directly and get it deleted. So the only thing left after that to worry about is seeing if I can have some of the lates removed, especially from April-June COVID from when I was waiting for my UI, and the few from Capital One. Does anyone have a good sample letter for those? ***I do have ONE new question - a few of the CC's that were a part of my repayment plan have me down as charge-offs. I don't understand how they can be considered charge-offs when they were under a repayment plan through a credit counseling agency....they were never sent to collections, because payments were being made and the only reason they were "closed" was because I went on the repayment program. It is mainly all 3 Comenity's and I think one other one. Is that something I should dispute with the CRA"s or with the creditors directly?
  6. Hi everyone, it's been several years since I've been on this site. I have since built, ruined, rebuilt, and ruined my credit since....I am once again, and hopefully for the last time, growing the hell up and doing it right so I can buy a house next year. I have already paid down my few current credit cards, and just completed a credit counseling repayment plan. My FICO scores have gone up about 20-30 points on each report so far. I have a few questions I need help with - I have tried some facebook groups, but they all seem to be run by a credit repair company, so either no one answers the questions, or they tell me to try one of their coaches :/ Also, it seems like the "other" forum has gotten a little more strict with asking for help with removals/deletes, etc. So hopefully, some of you can help me out. #1) I just received two collection letters, each from different agencies. One is for a PayPal Working Capital loan for $2089. The letter/collection is brand new and did NOT hit my credit reports yet. I have about 15 days left to dispute if I want to. I actually have the $ to pay it in full, so I went into that PayPal account to pay it, but I called them as well to make sure if they were paid directly, the collection agency would not report it. The guy on the phone insisted they no longer have control of it, and that I must work with the collection agency now. This doesn't make sense to me - because the letter says "CURRENT CREDITOR: PayPal", and because I am still able to make payments directly in the online account. To me, that normally means the creditor still OWNS the debt. This guy insists they don't. Either way, what is my best option with this one? Should I send a dispute letter first and just see if they send something back? In the meantime, if I send one, does that keep it from showing up on my reports yet? As of yet, it is not on them. Or should I just call them and offer to pay in full, if they don't report to the CRA's? If I should send a dispute letter, do you have a good one that you've used that could help me? #2) The second NEW collection letter is also for PayPal, but I have no clue what it is for, or which account it is associated with. I had two business and one personal, and from what I know, I only owed the Business Working Capital. It's for $318.66. Should I definitely just send a dispute letter on this one? Also, same question, if I send an initial dispute letter, will this keep it from hitting my report until it's resolved? #3) I have one collection currently on my reports. It is from Enhanced Recovery Company for an old Sprint bill/phones from when I switched carriers. I have read a lot of people were able pay Sprint directly and have it easily removed from their reports. Anyone here had that done with them? I believe I did this same thing with T-Mobile several years ago and it worked. ALSO - should I first dispute this with the CRA's? I keep hearing these credit coaches saying everything should be disputed with the CRA's first....is that true? What do you think is the best option on this one? #4) Late Payments - from being on that repayment plan with a credit counseling company, it actually DESTROYED my credit. Partially my fault. I had autopays coming out each month that were distributed to the creditors. There were 3 times during it that I had to pause my payment due to finances those months....two were in 2019 and the most recent one was during COVID. But each time, even though I would pick up the payments the following month, they were still marking me as past due because of that one missed month. So now there are tons :( I am sure I could easily get the ones from COVID era removed and that is easier to explain, but I'm not sure what to say about the older ones. I have seen so many Goodwill letters going around, I'm not sure which one to use or how to word it. I also have a few lates from 2019 on my Capital One that I still have, so I'm going to try and ask for those to be removed too. Anyway, those are my biggest issues to save/repair my credit right now. Any useful advice in getting these resolved in the best way that benefits my score, and in what order, will be very very much appreciated!
  7. I had Credit One and First Premier and had NO problems whatsoever. Credit One, all I paid was a $75 annual fee. No other fees at all. They do charge interest from date of purchase with no grace period which is why I only used it for things I could pay back right away. I closed it before the 1 year mark hit to avoid the next year's fees. Never had a problem and it helped me rebuild, along with First Premier (actually got this one first). For that one I paid a $95 processing fee and annual fee $75, nothing else. Used that one in the same way. Cancelled before 1 year hit. if you do it strictly and responsibly they are fine for rebuilding. They got me everything I have now.
  8. I use them as my main bank, since April 2013. I do banking and direct deposit (whole check), refinanced my car loan, have a Visa CC with them. I have never had a problem and so far i love them.
  9. up to 730 for the first time
  10. so far the check didn't bounce, nothing missing from my account, no issues.
  11. Maybe they've been 'compromised' by a Duck/Beaver/OCCU employee
  12. I think Neiman Marcus had a security breach too, did you use it there? I have a Duck card but haven't used it in a bit, hope this doesn't happen to me. Hope it's not some freeze because of all their new customers from here and the 'other' board LOL
  13. so far my Barclay Rewards posts pretty fast, faster than my others. Charges look like they are taking one to two days to post, usually one, and payments seem to be posted within 24 hours. Not bad.
  14. it's showing on my CR's already, looks like they made my limit $1800 instead of $1000. A little better!
  15. Don't worry....I am the same age as you and in March 2013 I thought I was the bomb when I got my First Premier card.
