no, inquiries really should never be disputed. The good news is there is always B* and they don't effect your score after 12 months. -

My journey to credit repair starts NOW!!!!
futurehomeowner? replied to futurehomeowner?'s topic in Credit Forum
On Monday we are closing on our house and my repair journey will officially be over. I am planning my app spree for Monday night/Tuesday morning We don't do a ton of spending so I am going with a few cards that give decent perks such as 0%, discounts, and rewards I plan on getting (notice I said getting and not just applying) 1. Home Depot 2. Lowes 3. Kohls 4. Hilton Honors 5. Southwest Visa There is nothing else that I can think of that we need, any suggestions are appreciated. -
when I started my repair the first thing I did was get MPM since it was the cheapest. If you are looking for daily updates to see if you remove items then it is worth it to pay. If not then just use creditkarma.com, creditsesame.com, and credit.com.

My home buying journey....It's finally time

48 hours to go. BTW, my agent called this morning and said the sellers attorney has agreed to withdraw the document. -
There are 5 local banks that are giving you $200 if you open a checking account. Some have stipulations of direct deposit and a few just require use of the ATM card or deposits. Has anyone gone and opened a bunch of checkings just to get this free money? Seems like an easy way to make a grand. Any reasons why I shouldn't do this?

has anyone had an issue like above before? The estate lawyer is making a huge deal about us signing this paper. How can they add something like this at the last second when it was never discussed prior? If they accepted the offer and have gone this far why would they hold up a sale over a paper saying it is as is? -

closing was moved to Monday 3pm, 99 hours to go. However, we seem to have a slight problem. Apparantly the property is part of an estate. The estate attorney is requiring that we sign a paper that says the house is sold as is and that we are accepting the repairs that have been completed and will not hold the estate liable for anything further after closing. I figured no big deal, we didn't ask for anything after the inspection other than a radon system be installed. Well, the closing attorney, the agent, the agencies attorney, and the loan company all say that I should not sign it. The estate attorney said that they will not release the house unless it is signed. uggggggggg -

try EX again in 1 month. Hi Chugs102, where did you get the nice looking fico score bar? is through a specific service? Thanks. I could be wrong but I think that is the Walmart one. -
I would think a bank statement or something else would work fine. Not fair that they make you have to deal with someone that you obviously can not get along with. So how did it turn out?

So I guess technically the Venture is give you a $400 cash back reward but only after you do something travel related? Yet they call them miles on their site. -

Are there any airlines with non-stop service from your local airport to MSY? I'd start there. There are quite a few. I was originally planning on using Southwest but it is not non stop. I am ok with that if it is basically free. It's not that simple. Figure out the carrier that you want to use from your home airport first. Check their award redemption information to see what you will need. There are 3 types of "airline" travel cards: 1. Airline specific cards: these typically have very good signup bonuses, but the earning potential is normally only 1:1 for most purchases. If the airline you want to fly has a co-branded CC, search for the best signup bonuses before applying. 2. Points cards that allow you to transfer to multiple airline miles programs. Examples are Amex MR points, Chase UR points and Citi TY points offered by various cards. Not all of the cards allow you to transfer points, so do your research. 3. Cash back travel cards. Examples are the Barclays Arrival+ and Capital One Venture. Don't be fooled by the term "miles." Your best bet is usually to earn most of your points with number 2 and go after signup bonuses with number 1. This is what is confusing. I was looking at http://www.creditcards.com/airline-miles-page-3.php and there are so many cards. I saw that they only had 25k rewards for southwest. After a simple google search I see that there are 50k offers out there. Then I see a card like the Venture that gives you 40k miles that you can use on any airline. Then there are cards that don't give you as many points but they give you a free companion ticket. Boy they make getting free stuff hard. -

closing on house next monday so I am starting to plan my app spree. I basically have 1 need right now but am getting overwhelmed reading every where. I am traveling to New Orleans next year and would like to get free airfare. It is a little misleading when you see card 1 have 50k miles and card 2 have 30k miles, but when you look further into it. Card 1 requires 100k for free air fare and card 2 requires 20k for free airfare. (I made those numbers up to illustrate a point.) So for those of you with experience in frequent miles, what airline card should I be seriously looking for? I am OK if I have to pay a yearly fee for the first year as long as I am getting free airfare. -

Now I am thinking about the house again. -

wholly crap, this is horrible. Last night I was dreaming about new house all night. Today my wife won't stop talking about it. We got the closing scheduled for 10/20 12pm. 331 hours to go. I think that I am so anxious because my pessimist in me is waiting for something bad to happen and screw it all up. -

YAY just got the clear to close. All that worrying for nothing. Now we have to wait 2 weeks for closing. Gonna be a long 2 weeks. -
you may just find your diamond, so don't be discouraged. We were in the same situation and we are in contract for one right now. The house is perfect but the lot is horrible. We are getting it fairly cheap based on the area that we are in. If you take the house and put it on a level lot, it would sell for twice as much. You may not get your dream home but you can find something that you will be happy with.
