Why not give it a shot? Is there a co-branded product you want?
-
So you were just an AU on your wife's Amex? I think your card is fine. The backdating is only reflected on the website, not your credit report unfortunately, since D* is dead.
-
You are right... I guess I never paid attention to it because I burned them, so it wasn't relevant to my situation. And it looks like the OP included AMEX in his BK as well. Still, thank you for pointing it out because I am sure it is very relevant to some of those reading this thread, and no one else had mentioned it. BTW - Amex is strict about the 5 year rule - must be 5 or more past discharge. Folks have tried a few months early and been denied.
-
Amex approves folks with a BK showing 5 years after discharge. There are several threads about this in the past year. This does not apply to folks who burned Amex in the BK. https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=536676

Credit Card choices and what about my Chapter 7 BK
Losluv replied to Calstar's topic in Credit Forum
Chase will auto deny with a BK still on your reports but can be approved through recon. Amex should be no problem since you are past 5 yrs. If you burned Amex they will deny you without a HP. But co-branded Amex are not Centurion cards so you should have no issue with the BK. -

Chase will probably let you in on recon. Amex will let you in 5 yrs after BK if you didn't burn them (co-branded don't count). -
Also found this thread on CLI with Citi: https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=518802

My last recon attempt with Barclay after the R* this spring went south. Too many inquires - mostly Barclay - lol. Male. Twice denied.

The chile was the highlight of my last trip to NM. Love it! -
Big congrats!!!

She should app for a QS as I think that's CapOnes's entry card now. They will probably put her in the credit steps program that will increase her limit after good payment history. I agree that IIB CapOne shouldn't prevent approval.

Thank you all for the responses. Heartbreaking to see all the great bonus offers. It was a fluke that led me to app for the card, I honestly didn't think Citi would approve me. Still stunned. With that said, I think I will hold on to the Red and see if they offer more bonus points down the road as Brandon had mentioned. I will also look at another Citi AA in 18 months. But I will make sure I come to CB first so I don't miss out. The 30K miles will help with the next trip back to the islands.

Just got approved for the Citi AAdvantage card w/30K miles. I already have the Red Aviator. I'm thinking of combining the Red with another Barclay card. Any reason to have them both that I'm missing? I apologize if this has already been discussed. I was unable to find an answer when I searched.

Hi Breeze. I'm not a huge poster on CB but I did enjoy BW's wit and wisdom. It's strangely comforting to see this thread around so I hope it will not be closed, if only for historical purposes.
-
Shame. Always aimed to get this one. Wonder why Barclay pulled the plug on it?
-
Yup...it's an awesome feeling to see the word APPROVED after all those years in credit purgatory. Don't app willy nilly, though. Like others have said on here, have a plan. Besides, if you are ever feeling down, just give Sync a call...they are great for cheering yourself up. ^Synch is always good for nice CLI rush. Keeps the joy of approval without the guilt of silly apping.

Hopefully it's an identity issue as Tyra mentioned and it will be cleared up with some verification. Call them. Fingers are crossed for you.

Citi AAdvantage - only $4700 but in with Citi and 30K AA miles. Virgin American - $8700 and 15K miles. No more till March 2016.
