DCU would be a good option for the OP - that 697 EQ should get the best rate 1.74 I think right now. Very painless process.

Isn't the Discover prequal bogus? Not if it gives you an APR from what others have posted. With a thin file and FICOs in that range, I bet Discover is generous. I didn't think anyone actually got an "APR" I totally agree with the 2nd statement, but he either burned them in BK, or CO, 5 years ago... Would that be a problem? I don't know. Could be a problem but lots of us with BK's got in with Discover. Took several tries for me but I was at 3 yrs past discharge and I never burned them.

Your BK discharge is over 5 years old which is good. Are the CO's IIB'd and close to falling off? Can they be disputed as obsolete? Barclay is pretty nice about giving second chances. You might try Amex - 5 yrs post BK is their policy. Chase can be tricky, especially if you burned them in the BK.

CV - took the time to guide me step by detailed step, through my last car purchase. It was one of the most generous acts I've received from anyone, let alone a stranger on an internet forum. Welcome to CB! I'm not an expert on the medical collections but there is a forum for medical collections that you might want to read (WhyChat's Method) before you pay any collections. After you pay down that Cap One and establish a good payment history with NFCU, you want to ditch that First Premier. It's a fee-laden tragedy of a cc, the worst of the subprimes. If you give more details about your negatives, others on the board maybe able to give you instructions on how to proceed. You need your paper reports to get started and be prepared for some reading. Lot's of it. But folks here are pretty helpful if you do your part.

I think most World Elite MCs/Visa Sigs offer concierge service. But I've never used the service so I can't report on which card has the best one. Maybe another member can help with this - CV comes to mind.
