  1. Was able to use my unionpay card at costco as a debit card. Weird. Transaction posted as a purchase according to online banking; Had to enter pin and the transaction was listed as DEBIT on the receipt.
  2. I was given an $8,000 limit. Which I was surprised because of the amount of cards I Already have.
  3. Email them and ask about your application. Give them your name, DOB, and Drivers licence ID number and they can locate your application and will email you the status cardinfo@icbc-us.com BTW Online banking is possible, however its not the most convenient. I Had to wait a day until I Could enroll, and if you enter your password too many times you have to either go in branch and have them reset your account or wait 24 hours.
  4. In true chinese fashion, I can't set up online banking because I don't have a checking account with ICBC USA. This is already giving me flashbacks to living in china and the difficulties of banking there. I'm gonna go in person the next saturday I'm free to open a checking account.
  5. Online applications are now available for ICBC usa credit cards. http://www.icbc-us.com/ICBC/%E6%B5%B7%E5%A4%96%E5%88%86%E8%A1%8C/%E5%B7%A5%E9%93%B6%E7%BE%8E%E5%9B%BD%E7%BD%91%E7%AB%99/EN/ProductsServices/Creditcard/Browsecreditcards/
  6. I'm not motivated to drive from my house in Northridge to a branch. I'll wait until online apps are available. I also have a ton of cards. It's usually not a problem. New account opening activity could be. I've opened two accounts this year. Maybe I should wait until next year, to be safe. I was approved. Don't know the limit yet. Opened 3 cards in the last year. (One in March 2016, two in 2015, A LOT more in 2014)

New account opening activity could be. I've opened two accounts this year. Maybe I should wait until next year, to be safe. I'm more afraid of being denied because a personally may manually review my credit file and see all those accounts opened in 2014 as too many accounts...PYRAMIDING DEBT...
  8. I went in person to ICBC San Gabriel branch to apply. The women working there had to spend a few minutes finding the application forms in her file cabinets, I'm not sure but perhaps I'm the first person to have applied at that branch. Very simple, just filled out the application (paper form), gave her my ID and a proof of address document (Bank statement or utility bill) Won't know the results for 2 weeks. I'm worried I won't get approved due to having a lot of credit cards already (Opened a few years ago but they might say "you have too much existing credit" We will see.
  9. second part of the PDF sent to me from ICBC USA. No Over the phone or faxed apps. Must be in person for now.
  10. Here is the details of the no annual fee Visa and Unionpay card.
  11. Does anyone live near a ICBC Branch and want to try applying in person so we can get some Data Points? I Would but they are a fair drive away and I'm working full time now so can't visit ICBC during it's operating hours.
  12. In Mexico I've only been able to use it at large chain stores (Walmart, 7-11 , etc) Same in Canada. they need to add a unionpay decal to the card so we can actually use it in china. a lot of chinese stores won't even try to swipe or insert the card
  13. And discover's card doesn't work that well in mexico either. At a lot of stores, the discover chip doesn't work, so after inserting it into the POS, the POS will then say Error -swipe card (in spanish) makes the transaction take a little longer and some cashiers have refused to try to swipe it after the message appears
