  1. One more question. It was late last night after I got the pending please call message. I closed my computer expecting the window to still be there in the morning as it usually is but it's gone. That said, I'm not sure what the exact number they asked me to call was. Should I just call the CS # or go straight to backdoor? TIA.
  2. Hmm. This was going to be my first business card outside of debit cards that had the business name so as far as I can guess there wouldn't be anything listed. Shoot! I wish I was able to do it as I planned as a sole proprietor but then I started thinking maybe my SSN not being an actual EIN was the problem so made the call and think it was the wrong one! Grr.
  3. Bummer. The agent I spoke with said I was eligible since it was a new product and not a different Delta card but she also mentioned being new. Hopefully, she advised me correctly On a less bright note, I app'd for the SPG Business and used my actual EIN instead of my SSN/Sole proprietor and got a "pending please call" message. I kept getting an error message when trying to use my SSN as a sole proprietor so I opted to use my EIN and list as a corporation. However, I just closed my business banking accounts at BOA because I rarely use it and wanted to move it to Chase. So, I've heard they have you call the bank however I have no active business bank acct right now. Mostly consult for events, event support/management on the side of my regular job so it's not a big $ business but I wanted to get both cards to work on status and for the 1:1 trade to airline partners/bonus transfer points since Alaska is a partner and my BOA Alaska debit program is ending soon. Going to call Amex shortly when I can but should I be worried? (have BCP @ $17k and recently converted $3k Delta>SPG personal)
  4. Just converted my Delta Gold to SPG and agent said that she thought I was eligible for the 10k bonus points & additional 15k points after spending $5k in first 6 months. I'm considering getting the SPG Business as well due to reading a lot about how having both can help get better SPG status etc. Does anyone have experience with having both SPG & SPG Business that has gotten both recently and did you get bonuses on both since one was personal and one was business. Or do you only get one bonus? TIA.
  5. Great thanks. So if I applied 10/26/13 (and was approved minutes later same day) but did not receive the approved email until 10/29/13 should I wait until after 29th to be safe or is 4/26/14 my 6 month date? Honestly, it doesn't matter I am just eager since I have worked so hard to really improve my credit to 800 and am trying to get my $10k card up to $20... patience is a virtue...right
  6. Hi All, Quick question re: Amex CLI's. I applied for and received 61 3x CLI (although I didn't know this was an option util I had had the card around 9 months so it was log after the 61 days) and then applied for a new card shortly after. I didn't realize that by getting the second card I was not eligible for the 61 day 3x CLI on the new card until it had been 6 months so I applied for a CLI on January 2nd 2014 and was denied. The denial said I wasn't eligible until my most recent card was 6 months old. So, question is... now that it has been 6 months can I apply for the 3x CLI and likely be approved (if everything else in credit profile is good which I believe it is) or do I need to wait 6 months from the January date I applied and was denied? Basically, did my denial on 1/2/14 restart the clock? Or does the clock still run 6 months from the date I opened the second card? Hopefully this isn't too confusing! TIA
  7. Long story short, got FICO up to a 760 and was trying to break through toy limit barrier on my cards. Had heard Citi is sometimes generous with limits so applied and was denied. Denial reason too many inquiries...only the only inquiry on my report was from the Citi pull they denied me on (LOL). Also applied for Amex BCP and approved for $10k although not reporting yet. Last week I finally ditched the last of my pathetically low limits (soft pull cli' on existing cards and all got raised) with lowest card now at $3k limit. Happy with that! Recon'd Citi denial and flash forward a week, they left a voicemail today saying they had reversed denial and approved me with $1,600. limit. My question/dilemma is... can I recon a recon? Ask for a CLI at activation and not activate it if they say no? I'm appreciative of the approval and I don't need a ton of credit but I have busted my buns for almost 2 years to raise my FICO score 200 points and finally just got rid of all of my low limits and approved for my fist double digit card ($10k). Since all of my other cards are now a min of $3k I really don't want a new card popping up for $1600. I feel like this would reflect on my CR and paint the picture I'm accepting new cards with low limits which might give the impression I don't merit higher limits which I finally just started getting... So do I keep the card for the 5% rotators? Never activate it/call to cancel it? Or call and ask for an increase? Is the $1600 limit worth the hit to my AoAA? Anyone have any experience or success with anything like this? TIA!
  8. Thanks to everyone here for the tips! Amex gave me a 3x CLI on my Delta Gold and approved me for $10k for the BCP. I contacted Cap1 Exec Office for my second time and had success there again getting 1 card doubled from $1500 > $3k and the other from $300 > $3k. Barclays raised my $3500 > $5k. I also got approved for a $6k Pottery Barn card which I would never have normally applied for but I had a large cash purchase to make and they offered a 20% back promo which got me $1200 in rewards to shop with on money I was already spending in the first place (and already paid off in full). This all leads to my next question...regarding Citibank. I think I mentioned somewhere that I applied and they denied me (said too many inquiries, I countered asking if 1 inquiry from them was too many as it was my only inquiry LOL). I contacted the Presidential Citi office which I gathered from lots of reading here was the place to call. They took some info and said they'd pass it along.. Flash forward. A week later I received a voicemail today saying they had gone ahead and approved me for the card...but at a $1600 limit. My question is... can I recon a recon? I'm appreciative of the approval and I don't need a ton of credit but I have busted my buns for almost 2 years and finally just got rid of all of my pathetically low limits. Never activate it/call to withdraw? Or call and ask for an increase? Is the $1600 limit worth the hit to my AoAA? Thoughts? Thanks all
  9. Any chance you have the backdoor #? Was approved just now but was hoping for higher limit to take advantage of 20% rewards next Saturday on a large furniture purchase. TIA!
  10. I did, it doesn't show it online I had to call but the good news was worth the wait!
  11. Ok....so I app'd for BCP and....was approved. Couldn't help myself. However, it doesn't say the limit..... how does one go about figuring that out?
  12. Called in for a 2nd round of CLI's on a low limit Cap1 and former OB card. Official FICO score is 760 or a little over on all 3 CRB my util is currently reporting about $1k of $16,000 available (actually have $21,300 credit but the recent CLI's and paid balances haven't reported yet this month) although I have paid all of the small balances off this month they just haven't reported yet. Cap1 originally $500 > $1500 6 months ago (1st EO attempt) > $3k - SP only Former OB turned Cap1 $300, denied my first request for a CLI with a HARD pull because they weren't fully merged at time. Asked again today, was told they can do a SP only now, and that I may be eligible for increase since it was fully Cap1 card now.... fingers crossed for a cli miracle as I am sick to death of a $300 card on my report but don't want to mess up AAOA! Will report back when I hear back later today or tomorrow!
  13. Hi, Currently have Amex Delta Gold which I'm realizing isn't really doing much for me since I rarely fly Delta. Have been considering PC to SPG card but also recently started considering applying for BC/BCP after reading a lot of good feedback. My goal in applying for new Amex Credit Card would be possibility of higher starting limit with BC/BCP...I have read they are often more generous with starting limits ( I don't need a ton just trying to up my credit game and break through the toy limit barrier) and if I can have it backdated (can I, is this definite?) then it seems like a good way to go without my AAOA taking a hit...? Will a PC to SPG card affect my application negatively for the BC/BCP (is that too much activity?). Just got my 3X increase from $1k > $3k a few days ago on Delta Gold (I didn't know about the 61 day thing til now, have had the card since last Feb). Will this recent increase keep them from wanting to give me more or will this history make them more inclined to extend credit? Basically, does having 1 card help or hurt your case in getting a 2nd Amex Credit card....I know many of you have tons of experience here Has anyone had a low limit on one Amex and been approved for a decently higher rate on thier 2nd or do they tend to keep the limits similar? I am happy to hold off on applying if thats best just tossing around ideas and wanting to find ways to get my 760 FICO up and get away from toy limit land, where I seem to be stuck. (which makes perfect sense since my FICO has risen 200 points in 1.5 years and all of the cards I have were attained when score was much lower). TIA!
  14. Oh, and do you have to have a US Bank acct to apply for their cards?
