1. I have not applied for a mortgage loan. So just send the hills dispute letter to the CRA first? Then Ill report what happened.
 2. My objective is to find out if I am reading the information correctly and there is what could be considered an error in reporting, which I understand may qualify this to be removed from my credit report....so to answer your question, yes, looking for a reason to dispute. It is over 6 years old, Im in CA so its past the 4 yr SOL but it will stay on the report until 2019.
 3. I have the following on my Experian credit report (see below). It appears that the Collection agency is reporting that they opened the collection account 2/2012 but the original creditor first reported 4/2012. How can the collection agency report before the original creditor, doesn't the original creditor report a delinquency first? Which is then followed by the collection agency reporting that they own the account? Thanks in advance for any information that might help me get this off my credit report will be extremely helpful. For the record I don't recognize this as mine but it could have been my ex wife's as it is listed as joint. 4. Why Chat, I thought the point of a PDF was to hve it deleted from your credit report? So it is not removed from your creit report then?
 5. I would like to get this off my CR and the CA agreed to a PDF, is this letter enough from them for me to pay it and be able to make sure they delete it? I have never done a PDF before, any help witih this is greatly appreciated! thanks!!!
 6. Here is the situation I need help with: I went in and had bloodwork done, the insurance company denied the claim, I followed up with the insurance company and they assured me it was being resolved. Months later, I got a collection notice from I.C.Q Search and Discovery trying to collect on the bill. I spoke to my insurance again and they said they would handle it. This month they finally paid the lab who performed the work so I only owe part of the bill. I called them and they said go ahead and pay the CA, to which I said no because if it was a billing error why am I dealing with them. They said then send us payment and we will forward to the CA, again I explained I had an issue with that. I fear that they will do just that, forward payment and the CA will report it as a paid collection. They (OC) told me it was not being reported and to not worry about it, well I am woried. How should I go about paying this, which I want to do without it potentially hurting my credit? The Oc will be sending me a bill this week and they said they woul demail the CA to let them know they are handling it (not sure how much of that is true). Any info is greatly appreciated.
 7. I am having trouble understanding these lines on my CR, are these being reported by the OC's or are they being reported by the CA's? If I follow WhyChats HIPPA Letter process will both the OC/CA remove the negative lines in my CR?
 8. I know there is a lot of information in Why Chats HIPAA lettter guidebook and I will start the process on these 2 medical collections shortly: 1) CMRE Financial Services Date Opened: 10/21011 Type: Collection Original Amount: $500 2) Tec Co Systems Inc Date Opened: 1/2013 Type: Collection Original Amount: $40 -Will the system work on these 2 collections? -I want to make sure I do this the right way, so I put this chart together after reading through Why Chat's guide to keep me on track, are the steps right? Thanks in advance for any help with this and thanks Why Chat for all the info!
 9. Thanks for the replies, I'll be sure to remove the html formatting next time.
 10. I received a letter for a CA (Convergent) a few days ago and had no idea what it was for, I also started getting automated calls to my work cell phone. I reluctantly accepted one call and asked what this was about. Apparently Convergent was trying to give me a chance to "settle" an account that was assigned to them from 2004. This is the first time I have ever had anyone call me about this so I researched some old credit reports that I pulled a few years ago. The only thing that I see on a CR from 08 was the following:

Date Opened: Sep-00
Reported Since: Oct-99
Date of Status: Oct-05
Last Reported: OCt-05

Account History:

<COLGROUP> <COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=2 width=64> <COL style="WIDTH: 71pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3437" width=94> <COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" span=2 width=64> <COL style="WIDTH: 65pt; mso-width-source: userset; mso-width-alt: 3181" width=87> <COL style="WIDTH: 48pt" width=64>

Charge Off as of Jul 2004

150 days as of Jun 2004
120 days as of May 2004
90 days as of Apr 2004
60 days as of Mar 2004
30 days as of Feb 2004, Oct 2002

is this what is referred to as "Zombie" debt?
