  1. So I PIF my new CSP account with Chase the other day - this was paid early. I have used the card a few times since I PIF. In my online account I see - Payment Due Date - 06/02/2012, Minimum Payment Due - $0.00, Outstanding Balance - $xxxxx. Does this mean that Chase will report to the CBs on the Payment Due Date? If so I guess they will report the outstanding balance at that point? I am trying to make sure I time my payments correctly so that I show $0 or very low utilization...I guess I paid a little early the first time...now I need to make another payment to prevent the balance from showing on my reports. In the future is the best policy to PIF a few days before the Payment Due Date?
  2. Not me. Even 50,000 of these would only be a drop in the bucket compared to most other cards. And I read a post somewhere that said that only 2500 or so cards had been issued as of December 2011. There are millions of Amex Platinum cards out there, and supposedly a few hundred thousand Centurions. Adding more card holders will provide the opportunity for more benefits--though there will be diminishing returns with respect to service level at some point. The card has been around for at least three years, so it will certainly take many more years(and for Chase to make the card generally available to the populace without any of the current PB, PC, or phone screen vetting) before that becomes an issue. Those of us that read these boards (along with Flyertalk, Myfico, etc.) are such a small percentage of the credit card carrying population that it becomes all too easy to think that the universe we communicate with is the same as everyone else. By definition we're an exclusive bunch so I don't worry too much. In fact, I'm more concerned about the opposite--not enough card members to make benefit expansion a sustainable reality. I agree with you...I am more worried that there will not be enough card holders to warrant more/better benefits. Think about the Centurion...the fees are in the thousands per year so it is pretty easy to offer some nice perks without impacting profit (not including the usage fees to retailers). With the PD the fees are only ~600.00/year (yes..I know that is a lot but not comapared to Centurion). I called today and requested United Club and was told that it is only for card holders who have booked a United flight through their PD card. I told the conc that I have several flights booked through my JPMorgan Corporate card to Denver and wanted to use the UC and she had a supervisor approve. Makes me feel a little like they are already clamping down on some things...maybe I am wrong...just made me wonder. I received my United Club membership card today (and I don't even fly United but it gets me into the *A alliance lounges and UA clubs where Delta isn't available). I am one of the people that has received "special perks" such as the membership to a non chase partner airline club (Delta). After obtaining the UA club membership and being told by a US Airways club rep that I can access any US Airways Club with the UA Club card WITHOUT a US Airways ticket, I emailed Palladium and told them that I spend about $10k-15k a month on my Amex cards and that the only reason I have Amex Platinum is for the Delta Sky Club access. I offered to cancel my amex platinum and shift over an additional $10k-15k in monthly spend (in addition to my $6k-14k spend now) if they could get me Sky Club. The next day they called me and said go ahead and charge a one year membership to your Palladium card and we will credit it. I charged it and the next day they credited me. I didn't go public with this because there are plenty of people (including some here) that have this card just because and would simply call and try to get Delta Sky Club access for the hell of it. I'm sure this will happen anyway (with this post) but hopefully Chase will weed these people out and pay more attention to people with significant monthly spend. This was sort of hinted to me at one point when they mentioned they want the Palladium program to be more individualized to the cardholder's unique needs. So far this has held to be true. Yeah...I see what you are saying. It makes sense to me that they asked about my flights as I havent booked anything on United with my PD card yet (although I have booked a few other flights and hotel stays). For what it is worth once they saw that I had booked the United flights through my JPM Corp card they approved the UC and said it was ok to charge individual visits to my PD and they will refund until my membership is in the United system. This is an interesting model...basing it on individuals unique needs...the conc did say to me that there are benefits that are only offered when you take a particular action (like booking a United flight and they will automatically suggest the UC enrollment). I am really interested to see what kinds of things pop up!! On another note...I mentioed above that I have JPM Corp Card...do you think they have a view into that world as well? I know that when I requested the Corp card they pulled my SSN, pay...and the bills are sent to my home even though my company pays them. I do a ton of travel and entertaining on that card and it would be great if it contributed to whatever customer profile they have on me...I just wish my company would let me use my own card and reinburse me for expenses...

  9. Sorry if this is something I should already know... I would like to use my CSP or PD to auto pay my car payment. The bank my loan is with will only accept checks or debit cards as I do not have a deposit account with them. It would be great to capture the $650/month worth of points vs just having it auto drawn from my checking. Is there a way to do this that I am missing? The only reason I ask is that I seem to recall some refrences to CSP or PD being able to be used as debits...maybe I am not recalling correctly. Any input?
  10. Thanks for the replies...so do I have this right? EQ complete - provides daily soft for EQ,EX,TU Amex CS - provides daily soft for EX,TU Credit Karma - provides daily soft for TU So I would have TU covered but need another for EQ...right? Thanks again for your help!!!
  11. The EX one is through the EX website and only pulls my EX score...so maybe that one isnt doing me any good? Frankly the report it provides isnt very good either... Suggest I drop it and just go with the others?
  12. Oh forgot to ask...are the EX report and the Amex report the same? I.e. do they cancel each other out? Would like to drop one or the other if they are not each counting...
  13. Ok...well I guess I will give it a shot. I have EQ Complete EX (Cant remember the exact name but it lets me pull a new EX report daily) Amex Credit Secure Credit Karma I have 10 hards on each CB report....will this combo help me to get a few off of my EX and EQ?
  14. I see a constant stream about B*... I also see comments about having hards removed... I have seen a few comments about B* causing issues "deleted baddies coming back due split file"... Can someone comment on the down side other than the financial investment? Could this cause a flag or something that might trigger a FR or AA? Could it cause your file to be locked? Can it somehow cause deleted info to magically reappear?
  15. Anyone know if there are any benefits for PD holders on American Airlines...elite status...?
  16. So EQ Complete pulls count on EQ? yes Thx...not being dense here but I am having trouble finding a service that will let me monitor soft pulls. Any suggestions? I have EQ Complete but it is only showing me the hards...am I just missing it? On the second pull from EQ Complete, you should be able to see your soft pulls Thx!!!!
  17. So EQ Complete pulls count on EQ? yes Thx...not being dense here but I am having trouble finding a service that will let me monitor soft pulls. Any suggestions? I have EQ Complete but it is only showing me the hards...am I just missing it?
  18. Where did you get your soft pull data? What service did you use?
  19. So EQ Complete pulls count on EQ?
  20. Used the conc today to book a trip...very good service. The thing I noted is that the prices/options...for this card are not the same as those on UR website (Conc told me that as well). It seems that the real benefits of this card related to hotels and travel...are not documented in the welcome packet or online. They are documented in a book that is received a few weeks after receiving your card. I have noticed a lot of comparisons to the amex platinum card on the ftalk website and comparisons to the JPMorgan Select as well and I really could not find a lot of differences...but it seems that is because the benefits are not readily available. Anyone know why? Anyone with the book notice anything really interesting in there that has not been written in this thread yet? For what it is worth...the pricing I got on the room (Waldorf Astoria) was the exact same pricing as offered through the Amex Platinum site...neither amex or jpmorgan have a "preferred" relationship with them...
  21. Good call... I just called the CSR line back and they were mailing the plastic card. Emailed me the signature form for her to sign so that she can get the metal card.
  22. it has not reported to my spouse's reports last I checked. Called today and had her added as an AU. Sending another "metal" card out. I didnt ask but am now wondering why they didnt need her signature for the name on the back? Did you have to send one in for your spouse?
  23. Has anyone added n AU to their PD? I noticed a footnote in the benefits guide tonight that said "reference to the account may appear on the authorized users credit report". Can anyone confirm that it does or does not show up on an AUs report? I want to add my wife but I do not want any references to new accounts or balances showing up on her report for a while...
  24. I carry a money clip/wallet in my front pocket and a regular wallet in my back pocket. Good stuff goes in the front..less important stuff in the back wallet. Not sure this will deter a gunman but it helps with pickpockets. Sorry to here about the robbery...I grew up on the south side of detroit and have been mugged as well..I moved the heck out of there 20 years ago when I got out of school...
