1. This is complicated. I used to just do my own taxes, but I didn't have anything to add besides the W-2. I wonder if it'll be worth it to go to someone to do it... people here charge $200. I don't know if I'll get that much more if I add the things stated here
2. I just bought my first home last year in Las Vegas NV, and moved in 3 months ago. FHA 3.5% down on a 15 year loan. I usually get $650 in tax returns. I'm single and claim 1 on my taxes so I get more on my paychecks, but don't get as much on my tax returns. Will I get more money this year because I bought a house? How does that work? I hear you get some of your down payment and property taxes back.
3. I've been working on my credit score for the past few years, and I finally got up to around 750. My sole purpose was to get a good enough credit score to get approved for a home loan and I succeeded. I checked my credit score recently and it dropped to around 670 because of the mortgage loan. If I don't use my credit cards, will my credit score improve over time because of my mortgage payments? I never did like using credit cards and only used them to improve my credit score.
4. I opened up a savings account with OneNevada credit union more than a year ago and put in $1100 in savings. I recently opened up a credit card with them with a $2000 credit limit. I was going to use this credit card to improve my credit score. The problem is that I want to take the $1100 in savings to use to help pay off my car which has a 10% interest rate. I owe 8k on the car. OneNevada will not allow me to keep the credit card if I close the savings account. You need to have a savings or checking account with them in order to use their credit card. The minimum to keep an account is pretty high at 1k. If I close my savings account with them and they close the credit card after only a week or so of me receiving it, how much would this affect my credit score? Should I just forget the $1100 with them and keep their credit card?
5. What if I get 2 other credit cards and I never use them, just the one where I keep the balance below 5%? Will that affect my credit negatively?

What credit cards do you suggest I apply for at my credit rating? Not sure how accurate credit karma is and how close it follows my FICO score, but at the moment, my Transrisk is at 652
6. I've been denied credit card applications. I think my credit score is higher now than before, though. If I get a credit card or two and not use it, will it have the same effect? I'm already using my Wells Fargo for my gas and gas only. I gotta think of what to spend the other two credit cards on. Also, is it true that I have to keep my CC balance to below 40% or it affects me negatively?
7. I've been working on my credit for a year now. I only have one credit card and it's a Wells Fargo secured credit card with a $300 limit. I also have an auto loan, which I plan on paying off before 2014. Last time I checked, my Transrisk score is 652 and my Vantage score is 696, this is from CreditKarma. is having only one credit card with a $300 limit unfavorable when it's time for me to buy my first home? Also, what credit score should I attain before I even attempt at getting a home loan?
8. my secured credit card with Wells Fargo and my car loan are the only open credit lines I have.

10. Last time I checked, my scores were around 612 The only CC I have is the Wells Fargo secured credit card. I also have the NevadaOne Credit Builder loan going on and a car loan from Toyota, which I opened up about 3 months ago. Opening up a car loan reduced my credit score from 629 to 612.
11. I'll look into those, but should I get more credit cards? I only have the wells fargo secured one. Would having more speed up my credit score incrase? I've been actively trying to increase my credit score for more than a year now. I'm trying to get myself a house.
12. My primary banking is Wells Fargo. I've been trying to improve my credit, so I got a $300 secured credit card from them. I've been using this for a year, only for buying gasoline and paying that off at the end of each month. I also went to NevadaOne credit union and opened up what they call "credit builder" where I gave them $1200 and each month they'll "take" $90 from it and report it to all 3 credit bureaus to improve my credit score. My one year "loan" from them is almost up. My question s are: 1. if I take out my $1200 from NevadaOne, will that affect my credit score negatively? I want to take that money and put towards the principal of my car loan, which has a high interest of $10% with a $9,300 loan from Toyota Financial. 2. Should I convert my secured credit card with Wells Fargo into a real credit card and have them give me back my $300? Should I also talk to them and have them increase my credit limit? Does your total credit line affect your credit score?
