  5. Get a PO Box for one quarter, forward mail from the EX's address to the PO Box. Get it in a neighboring city if you want to keep real anonymity from them. Bada-bing. Just make sure to forward mail from PO Box to your actual address when your PO Box goes up for re-newal.
  6. That looks like a nice setup. May consider that!

  10. DING DING DING!!!! This is something that pi$$es me off the most.
  11. You can ALSO call from your phone / any phone THROUGH your Google voice number so that the call appears to be coming from your GV number not your actual home/cell phone number. For FREE. No need for a computer. MAN! I forgot to add that fact in. LOL!!! Thanks though Frank! And I didn't know about Canada. Sweet touch.
  12. What a joke. I make sure to read everything. Especially because of companies/people like this.
  13. Hey all! I'm here tonight, to explain to you something called Google Voice. I don't know if a lot of people here are familiar with it, but it has helped me during my credit downspin, and will help on the way up. I have Google Voice. It has a phone number assigned to it, that I give to ANYONE that I fill out any type of paperwork with. I put it on job applications, doctor/hospital forms, gave it to the local state's attorney/prosecutors offices for court notifications, applications for credit, selling stuff online, or for any other reason someone may need to get ahold of me later down the road. I give my personal cell to nobody but individuals that I want to have it. It stays under the radar. In the Creditboards case, my attorney and all creditors have my Google Voice phone number. Back in the day when I defaulted on stuff, creditors would blow my phone up. Granted, I could save every number as a contact and set it to "silent" but I was looking for a better solution, that was less hassle and more convenient. So, when a person or company is calling my Google Voice phone number, it rings my cellphone as well, along with any other forwarding phones I set up. I have it set that they have to tell me their name and I can accept/decline the call. I can also listen in to them leaving a voicemail. I can even break into the voicemail and answer the call (kinda like picking the phone up when someone is leaving a message on an answering machine). I have options on how to handle the caller now. I can block their calls permanently (they will hear the classic "doo doo doooo The number you're calling is not in service at this time"), you can also unblock callers, have them immediately sent to voicemail, if they're a telemarketer I can label it as "spam", and the list goes on and on. You can also set a "do not disturb" mode on Google Voice to where it forwards no calls to your phones. I can see when they call, Google Voice has it's own voicemail system, how many times they've called, I can also RECORD calls from creditors or anyone else. All call logs, voicemails, blocked calls, call recordings, etc, are all saved on your Google Voice account website. You can also EXPORT audio files of recordings to your computer, for safe keeping You can also call anywhere in the USA from your computer in your G-Mail account and use the mic/speakers (or headset) on the computer for the call. For FREE. Unlimited domestic calling! You can also receive/send text messages (no picture mail, yet... They're working on it) through Google Voice. Nobody would really know you're not using your personal cell number. It's FREE. I will recommend it to anyone. Especially for people on CreditBoards whom are having problems with creditors. Do like I did. When having contact with creditors tell them the Google Voice phone number (to put it IN the radar, but don't tell them it's a Google Voice number), then change your personal cell number. Then your cellphone will stop ringing from people you don't want calling, and you can control what or who exactly gets through the Google Voice portal. Google Voice is available, I believe in the USA only. If you have an Android phone, you can go to market and download the Google Voice application after setting it up online and it will seamlessly integrate to the phone. Hopefully this helps someone. This is an informational post about a very important tool that I have used during credit downtime, and bankruptcy to date. It has saved me one HUGE thing though, the stress of having my phone ring all the time, not answering, and the stress/thoughts about it all the time. Privacy. If you have any questions, please ask and I'll try to give as much information as possible. I'm no credit pro, and have been unable to contribute anything of value so far on here, and I thought this would be awesome for others as it was me.
  14. Haven't heard back reference the addresses yet. Received paper report from TransUnion today. Total of 11 baddies: 2 From same collector (Collection Professionals): 1 for the vehicle I turned in earlier this year, other for an old landline bill. Total 11,400 2 From same collector (Keybridge Medical Revenue): Medicals from same place. Just over 1,000 total. One dropping off 4/2012. 2 From same collector (Credit Protection Association): Totaling 325. One dropping off 03/2012. 1 (Enhanced Recovery Company): $51 Sprint 1 of those "Account Paid in Full; Was a collection" (State Collection Service): 295 Ameren (Paid 09/2011) 1 From Short-Term loan company: $605 1 From (Verizon Wireless): $380 In short, I have just over $14,000 in baddies. Also in "Satisfactory": Current Auto Loan $17,000 Bank $8900 (Installment account, Participant on account) on old/paid off car. 3 Credit Union(same one on all) totaling $26,500 from two other old/paid off cars, and beginners loan of 800 for a new computer. Advice? Ideas? Directions? Should I awake the ones that are coming off March and April 2012? My ultimate goal, is to get as many baddies off as possible (via paperwork) and not have as much stuff included in bankruptcy. Good idea, or just let them go in with it. Also, it shows old employers from 2003, 2004, and 2005. Any way to have those removed? Haven't received EQ and EX reports yet.
