  1. They are fairly strict, but generally if you have a 650+ and good dti, you can get done. Full disclosure: I work for UMB as a branch manager. I do no underwriting and the scores/dti thing are just trends I've seen from my experience getting people approved for our simply rewards card. We could have different standards for a cobrand. 2. If finding a card with the larger deposit is an issue, you can also look into a CD loan from your bank/cu. It will report as an installment loan, but it's good to build up that side as well. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
  3. Pay the minimum on that card until October, then pay it off in one payment before the interest kicks in. Use the extra to pay down the cards you're currently paying interest on. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  4. Fyi, beneficiary is optional, and if it's not setup at all, you will have to wait for the estate to be settled before you can access the funds. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
  5. Especially if you have emails to corroborate what you're saying. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  6. Is that the case in the post Check 21 world? I haven't had checks in years, no need with BillPayer/EFT push, but when I had them it seemed to be the case that they posted the business day after deposit, complete with image, regardless of how far apart the banks were. What goes on behind the scenes in the Check 21 world? They do post, but banks still have recourse if they decide that it's fraud. For example, they don't have time to verify every signature, etc, but do have folks on the back end that are looking at them and comparing to signature cards etc for checks that meet certain risk. They can then return the check, meaning it still comes back in the payee. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  7. I like how they refer to minimum balances for higher rates is a "sneaky" trick, and give a tip for earning more interest as by depositing more money. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  8. Why do they make it seem like they can't find a check in an atm? It's not like the burn up inside the machine while the cash stays safe. If something was screwed up, the next time they balanced the atm it would be off, and they would have the physical check to know why. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  9. So in my head I'd pay 1.5% for 18 months and then 3.99 for 6 Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  10. Probably 24 months. However, I won't be closing the heloc, so I can always pay off the card with the heloc for the last 6 months and still ha e the same 3.99 rate Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  11. I have a heloc that I am using for a couple home improvement projects. Current balance of about 15k. Rate locked at 3.99 for about 3 more years. Cap one just sent me an 18 month 0% offer, with 2% fee. Trying to decide if I should transfer it to the card, if it will save me money. According to CCT, the heloc balance is showing in my revolving balances, so utilization will stay the same. Balance would put me over 50% on cap one temporarily (couple months), but I don't plan on applying for anything for a while. I also don't want AA. I would lose the tax deduction for the interest, but don't know if that would Amount to be a net negative or not. Thoughts on the best way forward? Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  12. This. Usually if they ask, it's because they were asked the source of the funds. They said that's fine because they got what they needed... An answer. They then relay it to the people that decide if it's really fine. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  13. I agree with you. Some MIGHT be cheaper, I purchased some really nice caviar from amazon and it saved me about $40.As I stated earlier most people I see using their food stamp card in the store are sporting $200 kicks and driving a $35k car. The system is broken. JMHO and good luck We live in very different areas. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  14. How about this: If you're on food stamps, Amazon shouldn't effin' be a priority. If it provides cheaper access to food and other necessities then it should be a major priority. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
