  1. You are a couple weeks ahead of me but I to have been reading and reading on this board and I think you are right on track. It sounds like your situation is very similar to mine except I have some big judgments. Just wondering, though, did you use a blanket letter to dispute with the 3 CRAs? Could you share which one?

  3. It's my TU from MyFico.com. But I got all 3 CR's right from the CRAs and this is how it shows up....
  4. How come no one will EVER answer my questions?
  5. It should also be noted that Riverside also has a civil judgment against me for this to the tune of around 7k. I have not paid on this or had any contact with them since the repo. I know its a lot but please help me on this if you can. Here is the 3rd...
  6. Can't figure this out. What does this mean and how to proceed? I had a car loan from Riverside Finance and got repo'd a few years ago. It shows up 3 TIMES on my CR (all 3). I finally have my life somewhat back together and am making big progress with my child support and many other bad TL's. I just can't figure this one out. Here is how the 3 look.
  7. I know I'm probably way to new here to be suggesting changes but,oh well.... I just think the "Credit Forum" is to broad. If this forum was was split up a bit (ie; CC's, Bad TL's, Judgments, ect) then topics would get many more views and replies before being pushed back 2 or 3 pages. Just a thought.....
  8. So I just opted out and am waiting a couple of weeks to purge old addresses from CRAs'. I think I have a pretty solid plan to attack my 20 or so bad TL's (mostly all old charge-offs). I have some cash saved up to start paying but I am holding on to it for now to make sure I spend it right. Many of my bad TL's are for small amounts of money, though. Like 5 of them, for example, are all bad checks being reported by the same CA totaling less than $200. My question is this, Does attacking these with a 1-2 punch first HURT or HELP my chances of getting a PFD on these? BTW I signed up for a Cap 1 secured today, I think I'll go with a $200 deposit for now......
  9. What kind of score would one need for that kind of card, or should I stick with the unsecured?
  10. WOW. Thank you for this thread. I have been bouncing around these boards, reading this and that, for a week now and now, finally, thanks to this tread, it's all coming clear to me! I am very exited to get started on journey here..
  11. I'm just getting started on my credit repair journy here and I keep reading that I should be building my credit as I fix it. Although I have never had a credit card, my reports are really bad. 3 or4 judgments, a repo, medical bills, and a long list of closed collections, ect.. So I doubt I will get approved for even a secured credit card. I wonder, though, I will be getting married to a wonderful woman with wonderful credit in a couple months. Can she add me, like a joint account, to one of her cards? No such thing as a stupid question, right?
  12. Yes I read about the Triage thing but I don't understand. Are those "interventions" meant for items that are paid and just still appear on your report or for bad lines that you still owe money on, or both? And if there are cheap one's that I easily pay off, should I just pay them and they will go away or do I need to include them in my Triage and do "interventions" with them as well?
  13. First let me just express my gratitude for this wonderful site! That being said, I'm a bit confused. I have read most of "PsychDoc's Credit Repair School" and I am beginning to feel a bit encouraged but still unsure of how to proceed. Any advice would be much appreciated. Here is by situation. - I have never had a credit card - Most of my debt is at least 5 years old and listed as collections but there are LOTS! including bad checks, medical, cell phones, and you name it.... - I have some civil judgments against me including a vehicle repo for $7k and I got in a car accident with no insurance so I owe Statefarm $14k - I have student loans that don't come due till 2013 - I am behind $27k in child support but I am back in "good standing" with them now and have my DL back - I have been putting $ away to deal with this but I am not sure how to proceed Here are my basic questions -What should I pay off first? I'm not paying interest on any of these and some are nearing there 7 year mark. -If I pay off the small amount collections, will they remain on credit reports or do they go away? And I actually have a bunch more questions but I will save them for now. Thanks in advance, Chad
