  1. I don't typically keep all my cards in my wallet at one time. But when I travel I do. (And yes I know about Apple Pay/Iphone Wallet, but I'm not interested in that now). For the past 13 years I've used a Bosca Credit Wallet w/ ID Passcase (Old Leather), and it's held up pretty good. Problem is, when you start adding things like insurance cards, various ID's, plus all the other accouterments of everyday life (I like collecting those "Buy 10 drinks get the next one free" punch tickets). etc., then the wallet starts looking like George Castanza's from Seinfeld. Looking for recommendations on a replacement wallet that'll carry LOTS of CC's and CC-sized items. Typically carry in back pocket of slacks, but am totally open to suggestions. And.... GO,
  2. Is it a valid bill?? If it is not, send them the medical DV http://whychat.5u.com/ltrcavalhipaa.html It might be valid. Okay to pay it? (since it's not reported on CR's yet)
  3. Looks like a medical bill from this year got sent to a CA. Got the initial dunning letter today, says I have 30 days to dispute validity. It is not on my CR yet, thankfully. I have done DV request letters in the past with success, but those weren't for medical collections. My first instinct is to pop off a quick DV letter to the CA, since I'm well within the 30 days (letter was dated 10/14). Thoughts?
  4. Nor did I. I was just talking with the CSR about getting the 1% cash back, which would be substantial on a $20K project. It seemed like the CSR was trying to make the case that the accumulated points would somehow have more value down the road than the 1% cash back. Other than airfare, what are the most common ways in which the points have their benefit?
  5. Already have the BCP and Delta Skymiles Platinum credit cards. Never had a charge card with AMEX. I called AMEX today to discuss options for paying for some upcoming house renovations with my BCP. The service rep I spoke with was really pushing me to get the PRG charge card before doing the home renovations -- he said the points would be well worth it. Would love to hear from some PRG members. How have your points benefitted you specifically, other than redeeming for miles obviously?
  6. I was pleasantly surprised. The only thing I can figure is that of my three CC's with $10K+ limits, two have reported balances of $0, and the largest card ($19,500 limit) only has a $600 balance. Of my other cards, two have balances (both less than $500), and two have zero balances. No new revolving accounts since July 2011. And like I said, the new mortgage is reporting. For others, YMMV like always.
  7. Yes. I did so yesterday. I've been a member since June 2011, but no credit apps. I've been just biding my time. Logged into the website yesterday, no preapprovals. So I figured what they heck, I got my new house 3 months ago, so I'm not on credit app lockdown. Called and app'd over the phone on the way home from work. App'd for the Platinum Cash Rewards (which I will use only for gas -- 5% cash back). The representative approved me on the spot for $16,000. Checked MYFICO this morning, my EQ is 733. That's a bit low for comfort for PenFed from what I've been told. But I did mention to the representative that I applied and was approved for a $146K mortgage less than four months ago. I believe that was taken into consideration. My scores were in the 755-765 FICO range before the house shopping began. That's awesome! Just to clarify...had you noticed any recent soft pulls from them? Hmmmmmm... I dunno. Haven't been checking lately. annualcreditreport.com has me locked out (can only get through mail). Would be interesting in knowing myself. Any other place I can check? Well, if the $16,000 limit you received (or the APR) was "less than favorable" then... LOL I will be content in not looking a gift horse in the mouth.

  10. How is it permissible purpose when I said specifically "I DO NOT WANT YOU TO RUN MY CREDIT!", and the rep assured me she wouldnt?
  11. I specifically told the at&t rep that I did NOT authorize them to perform a credit check, since I already had existing service with them it should be unnecessary. She told me specifically, "We won't have to do that, we'll just go on the existing credit we have for you." Within the hour, I got an alert from SCP that AT&T had checked my credit. It is my position that AT&T has violated some law here. Should my next step be sending them a letter demanding removal of the inquiry?
  12. Verizon pulled EX yesterday for me. I live in MS.
  13. Thanks for the reply! This is not a simple question to answer, I understand. But hypothetically, will one person's weaker credit be a limiting factor if they must be on the loan app? Or will they basically be able to say "Well, at least one person has good credit" when going through underwriting?
  14. I'm not really sure how mortgage underwriting goes as far as this goes, so here's my situation. We're looking to move in a few months, and will need to get a mortgage on new home. Our total gross annual income is around $75K-$85K. My FICOS (true FICOS, not FAKOS) are listed below: EQ: 763 TU: 765 EX: 724 (from PSECU) The wife's scores are much lower, due to old bad debt from several years ago (C/O credit cards, defaulted student loans, etc.). Don't know exactly where she is now, but a few months ago was around the 620 level on TU and EX. My question is, will we need to put her on the mortgage application as well? We will probably have to use her income to help qualify. I'm just concerned that her credit may be a limiting factor. Or will they be able to use my credit alone to get us (or me by myself) qualified? Thanks in advance for the help!
  15. Great, thanks much guys for the advice. I'll work on my end of the util and just leave the AU as is. Thanks again.
