    River Walk

You are correct to say that I posted that in my original post. It was what I was told on the phone or due to my nerves wrote down incorrectly. Which is why I called chase back to double check and confirm as this was bothering me. I am also wondering if the account was opened by someone else and used my info. It is in my name and social. But it has never been reported on my credit report which is very strange in my view. In terms of interest work it not be higher given that they are cc rates in default? I agree with you Thestranger7, I definitely want to find out if it is past SOL. In fact I would like to see the details of it all and I am guessing the best way to do so is send them a letter asking for that. The collection agency is too abusive and not helpful via the phone, otherwise I would have no problem asking them for this. What type of attorney do I contact?

I called Chase back and they have not been helpful in terms of details except to say that: Credit Card was originally Washington Mutual and opened in 2003 They would not tell me when it went inactive and when the last payment was made (said this was sold but I am pretty sure they have this info) The debt was sold to River Walk in October 2009 Here are some of my assumptions and observations: - If the debt was sold in 10/2009 it must have been already delinquent. If I am calculating this correctly that is at least 6 years by 10/2015 - I re-checked all my credit reports as I pulled them 2 weeks ago, and this is NOT on my report which I am assuming is because its in fact much older than the date it was sold. The reason Chase sold it is probably because it was already delinquent for quite some time (but what that is I have no idea). - I also cannot in all honesty recall this Credit Card. I cannot understand how this came back to life so many years later and given I lived at this old address I simply do not remember it. Is the SOL in VA 5 years? Is it worth it for me to consult an attorney?

I haven't paid a dime but thei certainly did scare the heck out of me. I want to make sure that this is truly from 2003. Should I call Chase to double check?

    River Walk

Please help! I just got a call from a collection company harassing me, threatening fraud and lawsuit if I don't pay. Stated a lien is going on my house. How this started: I pulled all 3 reports and disputed something online (I know worst mistake!) I got the call at both my home and cell from ZNCO I then called Chase (who the caller stated this was the OC) and was told it was in fact sold off to river walk in 2009 I called river walk who told me that they had ZNCO make the calls to me and in fact this was a debt they bought from chase and sent to ZNCO to collect. I was not told what The original debt was except that the $7500 I owe is mostly interest. They are willing to not send it to credit bureaus if I pay $2500! They want it tomorrow and have not sent me any paperwork. I certainly don't want to be sued or have a lien and since chase did verify with me, I guess it's legit although i cannot remember it as its 13 years old (they said I stopped paying 2003). Please tell me what my best recourse is. I believe SOL in VA is 5 years, the debt was started in MD where I lived then. Any help is appreciated.
  5. Thanks for the clarify! No I am not looking at a hard copy but an online report. The first date of first delinquency is April 2009. That is a big difference from October. Should I dispute that with the credit bureau for Riverwalk? Also, since the SOL in Virginia is 3 years, it will be up in April. Is that at the end of April or based on when my payment date it was due? I wonder if they put it on my report so they can now sue me prior to SOL expiring in VA. Any ideas what my next steps should be please? Should I wait until May to be past the states SOL?
  6. Had a Chase CC that was charged off in 2009 due to non payment. It is listed on my credit report and is showing up as a write off. Tried getting it deleted but no luck. I would be willing to write a personal letter if anyone has any good address that it would go to. It was sold to Riverwalk Holdings and I had received some letters from Dominion attorneys. Nothing on my credit report for quite sometime until a few days ago. The original time they reached out to me was April of 2011. SO it took them a year but they have finally put this on my credit report. I am showing Chase as the original creditor and Riverwalk Holdings as the collection agency. They listed the balance date 10/28/2009 but I am not at all certain that this is the correct date of when I stopped paying on it. Going on what Chase is reporting is that March 2009 was the last time I made a payment so April 2009 is when I was 30 days past due and so on. It does show Aug 2009 as 150+ and then for September it has a black X on it and then for October it is white with a line through it. This is on the identity guard online report. Can anyone help me here to figure out what is the actual SOL date as well as what is the correct date they should be reposting, and lastly how to best deal with this? I am thinking I send them a validation letter and send Equifax a letter stating incorrect balance date?? Please help! Thanks!

  8. Thank you so much for all your help! Off to the post office I go!
  9. Shouldn't I first mail a letter to Experian stating that I did not get notified of this dept?? I vaguely remember that there is a requirement by the collection agency to send me a notice first and allow me to respond in 30days. What letter would that be? Thanks for any help.
  10. Thank you so much, I will send this off asap.
  11. Hello to the board again! I have been gone for a while but have used so much advice on here I am back to ask for more. I subscribe to a credit report monitoring service and a few days ago got an e-mail with info that a new item was added for $250 for collections. I did not receive anything in writing from this creditor, however I just recently moved (in October). Upon further invenstigation it looks like it is an unpaid ticket. How do I contest this given the fact that I have not received anything in writing on this? What shoul dbe my next step? I plan to refinance my loan soon and need to resolve this asap. Thanks for all your great advice as always.
  12. Thanks! I will definitely request the report. Just weird that an FHA would show as Attorney's Office.
  13. I di have kids but they live with me. This is definitely not a child support issue.
  14. I got a creidt alert today that there was an inquiry on my credit report from the CBC/US ATTY. When I called the main office as per the number, no one had a clue and I got the run around. Then I called the identity guard people (way I check my credit report) and they told me it was an installment inquiry for a mortgage loan. I have already closed on this home and have moved in, is it typical for them to look up my credit now? The identify guard folks told me sometimes it takes them up to 90 days. But why does it show as the US Attorney's office? Any ideas?

    FHA question

I have an FHA question for you all. I applied for an FHA loan with a local credit union. I got pre-approved, made an offer, then fully approved and removed my finance contingency as per their approval. During that process I found out that my taxes for 2009 were never filed even though I did file with my tax advisor. Unfortunately my tax advisor passed away, and I did not have copies of the taxes. I know, a very dumb thing to do. I got another tax person to pull everything together for me and I filed. I took what they did to my local IRS office and had them stamp it with acceptance and the date. They did advise me that it would take 6 to 8 weeks for it to go into the system. I then took that copy with the stamp and sent it to the loan processor and was told it was ok. Now I am told they are still in need of an electronic proof from the IRS before they allow me to go to closing. I was told by another FHA lending institution that this should be sufficient proof to satisfy their need for 2009 taxes. Can anyone comment if that is true? I am at my wits end and need to close on Oct 28th. The credit union did lead me to believe that this was sufficient but now wants an electronic record, UGH. Additionally, I was also told by this other FHA lender that they are willing to take my entire file and close in 7 days. Is that possible and what are my risks at this stage of pulling it all away from the original lender? Thanks for any advice.
