  1. I buy and sell Bitcoin using regulated exchanges and I am registered with FinCEN as an MSB. So far, this activity has been rejected by State Dept FCU, DCU, and Langley FCU, the last two restricting all activity to cash only, basically making the account useless such that I closed it. DCU even mailed me a check for the remaining $8k that was in the account. I have called several credit unions, asking if they would allow a business account for a business that trades BitCoin. Every single one said no, many after taking the time to investigate and get back to me. Has anyone had experience trading BitCoin (or any other Cryptocurrency) using a credit union? I'm striking out.
  2. FYI: Up2Drive (NetLoan Funding for Ebay Motors) gives you your EX score when denied. I applied for an auto loan online at 9:30pm and received the rejection letter with my EX score within minutes.
  3. Ok, forget about the second question and I'll rephrase the first: If I was previously denied for unsecured debt bc of one big unpaid CO, can I expect the same for a secured (auto) loan? Are auto loans easier to get than unsecured credit cards at the moment for people like me?
  4. Thanks, MarvBear! At my last round of credit card apps, I was denied by all credit unions--all saying I would never be approved as long as I have the 20k unpaid charge-off. Not true for auto loans? Are we talking dealer financing or credit unions or online lenders? Which would you recommend?
  5. If I understand your question correctly, no. The punishments were for specific items that I did not dispute (but I disputed other items on those accounts).
  6. I devised and sent what I thought were clever Jack Attack letters to all three CRAs. All three of them punished me for it, the worst of which was EQ, dropping my score 33pts. EQ Activity Descriptions went from "Paid and Closed", "Paid" and "Closed" on three separate accounts to "N/A" Comments went from "Paid charge off" to "Charged off account" $10k+ credit limits on closed accounts went down to $0 TU and EX exacted similar punishments, for instance EX added the amount charged off to the status of a settled account previously listed as only "Paid in settlement". The only thing good to happen was the past due amount on my only unpaid charge off went from $2900 to $0 on all three reports. (Lot of good that does me with my previous credit limits now listed as $0.) My car is dying fast and I don't have time to wait to fix this before applying for auto loans. Very frustrating!
  7. I hereby invoke the powers of The Great MarvBear. Oh please help me now, Great One, as my current car is dying fast, and my Jack Attack failed miserably. 8. +1 They do a hard pull EQ for membership. You must get a savings account--they won't do checking only. Yes, they pull Chex now--new this year.
  9. What were your scores like? equifax score 730 They must do a manual review I guess now we know they must have a new accounts pet peeve. What's your AAOA? If the 4yo Citi is your oldest card, that might shed more light on the refusal. Thanks for sharing!
  10. Oh NOW everyone's interested in this CU after the $50 referral bonuses ended 1/31/11! No, Spooni--One deposit of $1k went into the Share Savings as collateral for the unsecured loan. They put the proceeds of the loan into my Savings, and then I used that $1k as collateral for the secured card. The old 1-2punch referred to often in these forums. Congrats KDS! Roland: Yes, they pull EQ. No, they do not ask for POI with the secured card. The criteria are different, since there is no credit pull. Knowing how they operate, "re-apply" will consist of a phone call and verifying that the funds are in your share savings. Apply for everything over phone because if you do online, they WILL pull EQ. They are a CU Service Center, so they conduct transactions for members of other CUs in the CU Service Center Network and other CUs do transactions for them. It does not mean the CUs are in any way affiliated. Too bad some of you are out-of-state, because I'm enamored with their funds availability policy. Checks under $500 deposited at the branch are immediately available!
  11. FYI: I settled Chase for 15% over six months and just recently AMEX for 15% over six months, both balances well over $10k. I will report back my score change in May when I make my last Chase payment and August upon last AMEX payment. I should add, that I informed AMEX of a lawsuit currently pending against me for way more than I can pay, which will probably drive me into BK, and gave them the case number, which they can look up and verify that I have a hearing scheduled in April. Other successful settlement reports very welcome!
  12. Yay! Congrats! I'm very happy with them. After my collections account drops off next week and my settlement is marked with a $0 balance finally in May, I'm going for their overdraft line of credit. Happy with my secured loan and secured CC so far! Still reporting as unsecured to all three CRAs. They soft only for membership.
  13. bump -- I read about one recently, but can't remember.
