  1. If a DV letter was sent to Portfolio Recovery and then they updated the credit report to say "delinquent charge off", can they do that? They have responded to the letter yet and it's been 3 weeks.
  2. Hey thanks for the information. I will look at PenFed... I don't travel often but plan to travel more in the near future. I would say 3 to 4 trips a year at the least and most likely to stay at Marriott hotels. I'm open to paying an annual fee.
  3. I have several cards that I paid off to a zero balance. This is the lowest card I have. I just applied for an American Express and got approved so I thought I would just close this out.
  4. I have a measley CreditOne credit card with a $400.00 limit. I just moved into my new home and did not want to do anything until after closing and funding. Now that it is complete, should I close this card? Will my credit take a hit?
  5. Hello all, Does anyone have any suggestions about a good credit union I could join that doesn't require me to be military? I have Penfed and NASA accounts but getting around the military requirement but are there any others? Thanks
  6. Great. Thanks for the responses. The lender pulled my report on February 13th. I was just wondering is they would pull another one just before closing. I have not purchased or used my credit cards at all during the loan process. All my credit cards are at a zero balance. I just want to know when they pull another one or if they will pull one.
  7. I am wondering how many times an underwriter will pull your credit report? My closing is February 28th and I just want to get an idea of when they will pull it again. Thanks!
  8. Thanks for the advice everyone. I am thinking of not touching the negatives because they will only show as paid and won't be completely removed. I also think FHA is the way to go.
  9. Greetings, I am newly divorced after 28 years of marriage and now have to look for a home of my own. I am looking in the 250-300 range. I just paid off 25000.00 worth of debt this month. I have at least 5% to put down on a house and can get more from my 401K if needed but wanted to know if I had a chance of being approved. I have some negatives on my account. 3 medical bills and 2 other bills that have not been paid. All bill are small. None over 100.00. Right now my credit score is 610 and I am looking for a FHA loan. I make 74000.00 a year.
  10. It doesn't give me any payment history but I was never late. I never had a DOFD. They actually have that blank on the credit report.
  11. It is reporting and it is in collections. Verizon - $98.00 Opened 4.1.2011 Date reported 1.1.2018
  12. Hello all, I am a member of creditboards but back at trying to attack my credit report before getting a house. Has anyone had success in getting a Verizon collection removed? The amount is 98.00 and I cancelled Verizon service before I moved but not understanding what this charge is for...
