  1. So there really isn't any polite way from what I'm hearing out there. I'm valid when I say this was a linguistics issue. Next time, I'll just hang up and call again. Thanks
  2. Trust me, it was a train wreck of communication and context barriers. It got super exciting when he said I had no money in my checking account and he shut my card off. Ended up at the bank for an hour getting it straightened out. He entered my routing number wrong, setting off a domino chain of events. It's important if a client isn't being understood, or can't understand there is another avenue to turn to. I'll never get that hour of my life back. I knew the problem was linguistics, but there I was, stuck. Just wanted to know if next time if I run into it, there is a option to ask for someone else without offense.
  3. ....in a local establishment, a minor was stung by a bee inside..... ......someone who is employed AT the store let that bee in on purpose dammit!!! Imma sue this place!!! (You can't make this stuff up files) What do you think the chances of a lawyer taking this one on is? I say 100% LOL
  4. Seriously. Is there some gentle way of asking for a native English speaker rep? Makes a frustrating experience even more frustrating.
  5. Hegemony, am I planning this right? Chase is being set aside exclusively for household routine basics and PIF every month. Do I want to just once a month PIF or do anything special like a weekly zero out? Does it matter with them? Is it going to make them nervous to build it up utilization the first month and PIF? Help, I have never run a card up before even knowing I PIF. This is making me crazy.
  6. I don't think he was ever qualified as "Bad flowers" honestly. Inexperienced and learning the hard way maybe, but not Bad flowers. It is very nice indeed to follow along with him as he's turned into a extremely involved father and husband and sober to boot. He loves his daughter and wife so much it's crazy beautiful. His earlier days were just training wheels. Travel and Leisure really baited this article; very poor taste. ba da bing!
  7. I'm looking around on different sites like Vogue, etc., and the prices of some of these clothes (even on moderate sites) have always amazed me. 1500 dollars for a pair of pants? Wha? Who are these people? What's the most you've ever spent on an item of clothing? I just can't imagine financing a blouse, or having the cash to do so....lol...
  8. My glasses are just ugh.... I do not want to pay lenscrafters six hundred bucks for a new pair. Fifteen bucks for the exam w/insurance, then order online sounds groovy. Can you recommend a site? I have a blind as a bat prescription, so taking that in mind- I'll have to get them thinned down a LOT. thanks if someone has a choice/experience!
  9. Have a good time Drew! Watch yer bobber!
  10. Celebrate with some new shoes and a manni! Go in fourteen inches taller next time. Really pointy shoes. With spikes sticking out of them. Proud of you! PREACH IT! https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_/photo/AF1QipMX0Ou1WY1zRMnELumQDkFyoQ86cNw-fzeFIBRr
  11. Alrighty. I've been making family account notes tonight. I'm going to set up a file system with a target date of a intensive plan for the first of the year. I know I'm about to take a hit for the inquiries and to recover the fastest I can and run clean, I'm going to use the 2 dollar report trick and see how that affects me. I'm going to pay all the household accounts (lights, cable ad nauseum etc.) with Chase (normally my husband pays these, he'll be transferring funds to my BOA savings) and then pay in full every month. I'll let my Discover report at 2 dollars and flatline everything else. Chase and Discover, I am assuming, report like hawks to all three major bureau's, correct?
  12. If you laid NFCU Visa/Pen Fed/American Express all next to each other, which has the most prime value? I know American Express Is a PIF hands down, but how does NFCU/Pen Fed feel about carrying a balance under 3%, max of 10%? In the future I can see where a few months a year a balance might be a handy option to have when contractors get involved.
  13. There's no bad debt in my history but this one state lien stupid thing. Somewhere there is a thread about loan strategy. Get the loan, pay off all but X amount, build some age, etc. I'll have to find that. I have one CU loan now, and it's under 30%, I have it just to create history, it's not a big deal. I just make the minimum payments now to create tempo in my file. When that one ages naturally, maybe I'll do Pen Fed or NFCU for loans, then in a year do the CC with them when I have a 12/13 month history. I'm definitely making major financial changes in four years. Massive.
  14. You ever seen a blasted group of people on the Rifle trying to fight off May flies? Funniest damn thing in the world EVER! hahahhahahahahaha The sober find that amusing as hell. Water Pee'ers, bleck.
  15. January last year, mid 500, FICO 8, true. Opened 2 secured lines w/BOA, graduated last month with, took paper tornado route outlined here and disputed addresses, took three days, and score rose to 698. I expect a fall now from apps, but will not app again until a good solid six or seven months (or more) of payments and PIF are established with the four CC's, the 2 Visa from BOA, then Chase and Discover. That 2005 thing was only fifty dollars btw. By the time I was aware it was alive or existed, it grew with interest to 2K. Jesus Joseph Mary I was mad. State said go screw yourself, threw a lien on that day and whatever. Seriously, the whole thing is dumb. You can't SELL a house with a lien on it, but they won't listen. Thanks Washington Mutual, ya buttheads. this is the thread I used as a guide, it's great https://creditboards.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=514875
  16. Goal is to get big girl cards, qualify to refinance a (paid) home equity loan for about 100K, rehab the house and rent it. I started a year ago with zero credit score basically, and have hit 698, app'd for these and they are letting me in slowly as if I were radioactive. My file is basically invisible, but this will work I think. I'd like the loan issue to be addressed in a year's time, and I have to do this alone, not joint. I'm going to have to establish myself with some bank for this, I have BOA now, but I think they are probably not the best bank out there for a home equity remodel....any bank/cu advise is welcome. I can do NFCU or sniff around any recommended.
  17. Okay. That was like riding a rollercoaster to read. Eighty percent? OMG, I don't know if I can do that; I will have to work myself into the mindset for it ( I feel my fathers shadow glaring at me ) Of the two issuers, who is the better for future apping with Amex? Or doesn't it matter?
  18. I opened a line with each. I'm planning on shifting 2 ordinary regular payments of around fifty a month on each, then PIF. Any words of advice on what each issuer likes best? Is that too low of usage for them or should I view them differently for activity? Line on Discover is tiny at 4K, Chase super tiny at 2500. I try to mentally stay at 3 percent usage on everything and PIF, so I see each as Discover, maximum usage of 120 per month and Chase max 70 usage.
  19. Follow up post: I did end up leaving, actually QUIT (first time in my life ever) - after getting a offer for something new. Now I am robotic, calmed down, quality of life is back, sleep is great, family is wonderful, candy is falling from the sky blissed out. I feel like I'm retired or something..lol. Everything is great. I will never do that to me or my family again.
  20. A book of stamps, some calls. Old 2005 state tax (paid) lien removed, 21 point increase resulted. Just wanted to leave this here in case anyone wanted reference on what a tax lein showing/removed is worth in points.
  21. Bay City is pretty nice actually. Lots of very old lumbering and train systems there, the houses can be phenomenally huge. Downside is heating in the winter of course, which is a long long season. Bar strolling is very much in there. Great diners in lots of them. Good culture, fairly safe. Lots of Polish influence, German, the Tall ships are amazing, anything water is amazing, the fishing is amazing. Airline connection is very close. Avoid everything Saginaw, it's absolutely horrid, a rusty remainder of GM. Flint is far worse off than Detroit EVER was. Midland is extremely 1950 conservative, very very tame, very inexpensive housing and lots of culture there too. Home of Dow Chemical, so just saying...it smells of bleach most days. Lots of trains in Bay City, canals, so time your drives around them, expect to catch a few and be delayed. It has an old heart, Bay City. The bridge of course, super super sucks and will scare the living daylights out of anyone sane. Michigan in the summer will break your damn heart. Do lighthouses, go to the UP. Go to Mackinaw, Traverse City, drive the Lakeshore as a trip, it's excellent and super fun. Roll around in the leaves come fall, go to Tahquamenon falls up North, do Munising and Pictured Rocks, Sleeping Bear Sanddunes, go see Fishtown. Everyone goes beserk in summer with festivals, there's a festival for absolutely everything. Get a motel 8 in walking distance and drink good beer. Ann Arbor is the cultural elite mecca of Michigan, it's only about an hour south, and if you are Yuppie at all, or Hippie at all,, you will think you died and went to heaven absolutely. U of M football games are THE thing to do in Michigan. Make it a point to see one, and book way way in advance for a ticket. You can save gobs of moola flying out of Detroit Metro airport vs. Tri City which is really close to Bay City. Connect to Chicago O'Hare and the world is your oyster pretty much fare wise. I'd have no problem living in Bay City. WNEM TV 5 is the local news channel, check them out on the net, Bay City Times is the newspaper of choice there. Try plunking around in those for a feels of what's going on. You have to learn all the water stuff. People take the lakes very seriously there. Having grown up in Midland, I cannot say enough great stuff about the quality of education and family oriented life there. If I had to choose between Bay City and Midland, it's Midland ,...no brainer. The commute is only about twenty minutes and is very fast. Winter is going to suck on the highway, but that's life, you get used to it very soon.
  22. It's nice they are doing this, but you can't put lipstick on a pig.
  23. I think we are heading toward that day trading arena-sort of a sport for us at this point. Can you decode FT for me? It's late, and I ate some really good dinner tonight, mucho brain fog here...woof.. this one? https://www.ft.com/
  24. That one's easy. We are going to eat each other up. The first ones to go will be the glow in the dark people. They can't hide very good. Worst thing I ever did was take that nuclear winter book with me on a tropical vacation. Laid on the sand and cried for an hour. Worst ending ever in the entire universe for all time.
  25. Scale of 1-10, howzit? If you are tipping the scales of say...6 or higher, are you adequately compen$ated for it?
