Just wanted to give all of you a heads up that Emigrant just raised its APY from 3% to 3.25% for their American Dream Savings Account. Its a great savings account and i think the highest APY out right now! I have one myself and i think its a great way to save money. You dont have to have it stuck in a CD to get the high APY and you can transfer to and from your account whenever you want.
If you want to check it out the site is www.emigrantdirect.com

I like the ING interface better and it was faster to set up an account, but I'm not turning down more money for a better GUI (At least now when I only login one or twice a month to tranfer money). What's the deal, why stick with ING?

I had a couple problems with Emigrant linking me to other people's accounts.............I advised them of it the first time and they didn't fix it correctly, so the 2nd time someone tried to draft my account in the amount of what a small house would cost. I didn't care much for their customer service. Their security scared me. An extra partial percentage point, IMO, is not worth it.

with ING's incentive money the differential in APR's is partially overcome.

Possibly they fixed some of the security problems because when I opened my Emigrant account I had to wait for a snail mail letter with the account number to login in online. However what you say is very distrubing.

I was declined an Emigrant savings account. Still don't know why.
They suck.
ING Rules!
I'm sticking with ING too. 2 years with them and no problems except for getting my money out of the account.
Well actually thats not a problem but a good thing as it really does help me save my money.
