I have disputed until I'm blue and keeps coming back verified. Contacted the agency AES who bought loan after rehab from NJ and they say they're reporting it as paid as agreed. Yes, some are, but others are not and it's tanking my scores and not allowing me to get credit (federal claim). NJ has no record since they sold the loan and I've been out of rehab for about a year now and I don't know what else to do. I've faxed credit reports, etc. to AES and they CLAIM that's not how they're reporting and that they are getting the disputes from the CRA and have updated them. Should I now just try to write a letter to the CEO or what? I'm at my wits end since I've done my part and what was the point of rehabbing when I'm still being penalized?? Any suggestions ... Should I do a DV dispute or something?

I am by no means any expert on these things, but want to make sure I understand the situation.

Your credit rept shows AES reporting one thing when it should be "paid as agreed". You contacted AES who says they're reporting it the correct way, but it's not showing up correctly. Is that right? If so, have you sent the responses you received from AES to the CRA's (showing that AES claims that the CRA's are reporting wrong)?

You'll have to excuse me if I've got the situation all wrong. I'm pretty new to this.

That is correct. I've not sent the CRA's what AES says they're reporting because they have not sent me the "actual" papers of what they're reporting; but have repeately assured me it's being taken care of. I just fired off a letter to the CEO to see if he can get to the bottom of this. Also, half of my report shows transferred, but other parts of my CR's say gov't claim, etc/contact subscriber, etc.

Here is the problem...AES is the rehabilitating lender.  They only report for themselves.

I am assuming NJ is New Jersey Higher Education.  They are the guarantee agency.  They are responsible for reporting TL as positive.  Unfortunately, it doesnt go back any further than this point.  Your defaulting lender/servicer is not required to change their TL.  This is taking from the Doe site...

<<<Once a loan is rehabilitated, it will be taken out of default, the credit bureau reports made by the servicing agency will be deleted >>>

This is a crock...New Jersey is still the loan Guarantee Agencey.  They have records.  It is probably not accessable to the average CSR bcause they are not currently servicing it. What it comes down to is I think you were expecting rehab to be magic to your CR.  What should be reporting as current now is AES as current and NJ as paid.  The rest of the remarks on your CR will not change.

So, are you telling me that my report is supposed to continuously show government claim, etc? What was the point of rehabbing the loan? NJ is no longer showing on my report, but AES is the one that's showing the government claim - why is that?
