To All,

I recently went through a rehab on 2 loans with ACS. The former holders were Sallie Mae. ACS has since taken the info off my credit report but now I can't get Sallie Mae to budge. Any body have any success getting Sallie Mae off.

Would a goodwill letter work, please forward any comments or experiences on this????

Thanks,

C

How long ago did you complete rehab?

I finished my loan rehab in August of this year

Technically...they have 30-90 days to correct your TL's. Basically its when they recieve your loans back from the CA..then sell them to another OC your loans get changed to positive TL's.

I just finished my rehab...really hope they dont take 90 days.

The loans go as follows :

Originally with 1)Sallie Mae
2) ACS/Chase
3) ASA
4) ACS/Sun after rehab and is positive now

The ASA came off without a problem but the original Sallie Mae and the other ACS are still on..........any ideas??

Man, you must be my twin!

I have two groups of loans one with Uncle Sam and one that was with Sallie Mae.

The SM loans are now with ACS and followed the same path you described to get there, I defaulted and am in month 2 of rehab. (They were really cool about it) Looking over my CR's I have baddies from SM and was wondering if they would come off when I finish my rehab or if I could get them off. ACS said they will remove their bad TL's.

I was planning on begging for mercy with SM once I finish rehab. Did you send a goodwill letter? Cookies? Candy? Hallmark card?

Perhaps if you write a nice letter, they would take pity on you. As I mentioned, that is my plan.

Most of the smack on my CR's is Student Loan Litter, and when I finish my rehab and consolidate the SM loans into THE MOTHER OF ALL LOANS with the Direct Loans (DOE) my CR's will look much better. I too need to get off that Sallie Mae residue.

Hello...my seperated sister from cyberspace.

So far I haven't knelt to the Sallie Mae demigods for forgiveness. I did have success speaking with ACS about the previous loan of record with them. I have been assured that they will clean this up......I guess it helps if the loan comes back to them. If I make any other progress I'll post it. My other SL's on rehab come due in march.

hey, i'm new. this is a cool forum, and lynninmn, you rock!

so i have the same problem. some of my sallie mae loans defaulted (one of the guarantors tried really hard to avoid this; the other didnt). the defaulted loans went to the guarantor. i rehabbed and have been post-rehab for a year now (so two years of consecutive payments). the other loans with salle mae have been paid for 2 years too -- and i have been sending them double payments for about a year now. the guarantor has deleted any negative info. sallie mae's negative info remains.

has anyone ever convinced sallie mae (or any other original lender) to take off negative TLs when the loans have been rehabilited through the guarantor and transferred? i understand from your posts here that the original lender is not required to delete its negative information; nevertheless, are there any examples where a lender has done anyway?

please help....lol.

Yes indeed, although most people would say that it's impossible. But I had all of DH negative TL's removed. The ones from the OC I disputed as NOT MINE, I did this during rehab and after rehab all the other TL's came off.
IT can be done but u must be persistent.
