Full Version: old sl consolidated, TL on CR, does it matter?
CreditBoards > Financing > Student Loans

I have about 8 tradelines listed on my CR from student loans that have been consolidated. These old loans are listed w/zero balance with "sold/transferred". DOLA is 2000. Are these positive, negative or neutral on my CRs? I'm guessing they're neutral but b/c there are like 8 TLs it bugs me just to see them there (anal, yes).

comments?

I don't know, Stella, but I'd be interested in the answer if anyone does know. I'm in the midst of consolidating right now and I want to be sure the paid tradelines remain positive.

I have the same situation from about a dozen SLs that were consolidated last year. While on the phone with a CR rep from EQ last week to dispute some TLs I asked her about those. She said that only any payment history, pos or neg will impact your score. If they were always deferred and never late prior to consolidation, they should have no impact on your score. Most of mine say To New To Rate, and account transfered or sold.

I hope this helps laugh.gif
