I swear they send their calls to India.....
I very nicely tried explaining to the woman the situation. She kept asking "You like to reopen investigation?"
NO I want you to investigate according to the letter I sent. I even READ it to her. She says "Well yes, it is still on your report."
I said "Your letter said it's not". She says "But it is. Do you like to open fraud alert?"
WHAT??!!??
I very nicely asked to speak to a supervisor. She hung up on me.
Called back....got another clueless CSR from India. "You like to open a new investigation?"
Suggestions?????
OK, now you need to file a complaint with the FTC against Eq.
http://whychat.5u.com/hipaaftccomp.htmlMake sure you state the problem CLEARLY, you properly disputed an unknown medical account that is ONLY appearing on your Eq. report, you received a letter from them (give dates on both) stating that the account does not appear on your report, the accompanying copy of your report showed that the account was still there. That you tried to get it resolved by phone and were disconnected. Eq is in violation of the FCRA and FACTA for improper reporting, improper response and failure to have a competant customer service department to handle the issue.
Make sure you print out, (or make a copy in word before filing the complaint) before you click enter on the FTC site, send a copy of the filed complaint to Eq with a cover letter explaining the problem.(include a copy of the letter you received from them stating the account was not on your report)
