Supposedly according to the article that they are forced to sale that arm of ING, but you know that's nearly 4 years from now and whole lot can change until than. I'm hoping that if they do have to get rid of ING Direct that it will go on its own.

This is probably the dumbest question that's ever been asked here, but what happens to your money if ING gets sold.

All of my money is with ING right now.

Your money will be with whatever bank ING gets sold to.

If you had an account at Commerce Bank last year, and you didn't move your money, it'd be with TD bank now, because TD bought Commerce.

Yep, you still have your money. The client-facing effect of a change in the bank ownership may be nothing at all, or may be a gradual shift to a new brand name, new logos, new website etc. No big deal in either case.

When Chase took over WAMU, it was some months before I finally had to migrate to the Chase website and received a new Chase ATM/debit card. My account and bank routing numbers remain the same, all the account specs are unchanged as far as I've noticed, and my old WAMU checks work fine.
