He was talking about using something like the yellow lined paper or something with a designed background. I will tell you the reason why and it will make sense what he is talking about. You send your letter to the CRA. They get thousands a day and it would be almost impossible for humans to sit and read every one of them. So they load it into to a machine and it is scanned. It is then either handled by the computer to read and make a decision or it is electronically sent overseas for a low paid worker to read and make a decision on. When you use an ink, font, or paper that the optical character recognition (OCR) software can’t read, then it must be handled by a real person here in the states. I have even read people typing there letters up and printing them out on their computer normally but using the type paper where as when its scanned or copied it has the words “COPY” “NOT ORIGINAL” or something of the sort on the copy. I think the paper uses some sort or thermal ink which reflects the words back when the bright light of the scanner / copier hits it. I am still new here myself but I have just about figured out there is a good reason behind all these little small things they have us do. The scanning of letters came out in a court case against one of the CRAs a while back I think it was.
Your other question, I have no idea. The smart ones will be along to answer your post in 48 hours or less.

so let me get this right. Use paper with a background, i have that. do u type it using a computer or use a handwritten letter.

You can do either. Personally, I handwrote mine as I thought it would be even more difficult for a scanner to read my atrocious handwriting, but if you use personal stationary, and print the letter in a teal font, it's okay to type it.

I went with pink paper, using a slightly darker pink text color,
with Informal Roman font and Italics.

Easy to read for a person, but it should play hell with OCR software...smile.gif

Your question on the "funny font and paper" has been well answered.

As to your address deletion question.

If you have old GOOD accounts with your prior address, notify the GOOD accounts to update their records with your current address, that way any address deletion will not affect them.
