I keep reading all these threads about "student loan rehab" and how credit reports are being adjusted??

I paid a student loan from EdFinancial late quite a few times (up to 120 days) back in 2006 and 2007. I have paid on time every month since then.

Is it possible for me to get these lates wiped off my credit reports? Any ideas?

My student loan is from Citibank. I was late 150 days 5 yrs ago and it's been haunting me for some time now. I have begged, pleaded, threatened, etc. and nothing has worked. Finally in an act of sheer desperation, I just sent them my story. You can call it a goodwill letter, so to speak. In it, I was honest and told them that I was a stupid kid back then but since then I have done nothing but pay my bills on time. I told them I'm a mother now and want nothing more than to buy a house one day, but that mark they've placed on my credit is keeping this from happening.

I pulled my report on Saturday and show that they are now reporting to TU as Current/Paying as Agreed. AND....they only show 2 yrs of payment history and all are on time. All my past history is now gone. I suppose this is what people mean when they talk about reaging? I didn't ask for it, but it would seem that I got it. wink.gif

Good luck!

Student loan lates are required to be reported. Not the same thing as regular accounts at all.

I tried a goodwill with Nelnet a while back, and they sent me a letter back saying they don't do TL adjustments.

I just said screw it and kept paying them on time...
