There are laws under which you can get student loans discharge completely.

I had 2 loans discharged with NYSHE and I did it myself, not difficult to do if the loan(s) fall under certain categories.

Looks like those laws are extreme circumstances. None of them say what I'd like them to say..."You may be eligible for a discharge if you are the sole provider for your 3 children, get no child support from their dead beat father who is addicted to Oxycontin and you do not request help from your state or government!"
Anyway...that is good information, but I certainly do not qualify for any of those things.
