I just got mt ChexSystem report and this is what it says:

This letter inform you that reinvestigation of information contained in your cunsomer file at ChexSystem is completed. The disputed information submited by JP Morgan Chase has been changed by the request of the sourse... please be informed that the reported information contained in your cunsomer file at ChexSystem does not contain a record of an outstanding debt. However the information has been updated at the request of the source of the information to indicate that it has been paid in full or settled in full. With this change they have verified the information to be accurate as reported. Therefor it has been retained in your file.

JP MORGAN CHASE

So even if it's not off the report I can still open an account?
As I said I dispute it and never paid but for some reason they update it as paid.

Once "its paid" im ok to open an account?

BTW its a business account
mca
No, just because it indicates that it is paid does not mean that you can open an account at most banks. It might help you with some but not the vast majority of the banks out there that use chexsystems. They will still deny you. But yes it is better that it now indicates it is paid. They changed it apparently when they could not verify what was owed,

Long time ago I went to open an account with Capital One Bank and the manager told me that I have a balance owe with Citi Bank ( That was the first time that I heard about ChexSystem) and I should just go accross the street and speak with Citi bank and clear it out, he also said once its all cleared with Citi you can just come back and open an account.

So I guess now is the time to go and open one?
mca
No, He is saying that you need to have Citi bank remove you from chexsystems. it might be worth a try even without the removal and only with the report showing as paid now, I am not sure what they would decide. they might insist on having a letter from the bank itself stating that the balance is paid. Again I am not sure.
