Before I get into my question, I first want to thank everyone, especially mca, who help run and answer this section of the creditboards. I actually was a member of chexvictims several years ago when I got my chex systems death stamp for NSF and with the help of the board, got an account and now out of chex systems and loving it.
My question: I have a friend who three years ago got a report to chex for account abuse. Recently, the bank that reported the friend got bought out and is operating under the new bank's name. Should I tell him to go ahead and attempt to validate the entry in hopes that the old bank can not validate? Also, if the new bank validates the claim, can it be renew for another 5 year death sentence.
