Insisted that I show ID to use a cc for paying a ticket. "It's OUR internal policy" (Uhm, do you have a written directive about that policy? No??)

And of course I always love "It's for your own protection".

So I explain very nicely and she stomps off to get her supervisor and comes back after a minute and with a snotty attitude announces triumphantly "I have to compare your signature!!"

Duh

*sigh*

How do people screw up comparing signatures and checking of ID?

When paying a ticket?

Let me get this straight:

Ticket is for John Doe.
I show up to pay a ticket with a credit card that says John Doe.

I don't see any other issue.

I do find it interesting the supervisor was aware of the correct card acceptance procedure though.

PEOPLE ALWAYS PAY TICKETS FOR JOHN DOE WHEN THEIR NAME IS MARK SMITH

I know I hang around the courthouse (on my days off) looking for some poor victim
that need their ticket paid and I pay it for them and send them on their way

...MAYBE I COULD THEFT A CREDIT CARD AND MAKE SURE I PAY A TICKET AT THE COURTHOUSE...BEFORE I BUY THAT $2,000+ TV
